Whenever Galactus goes to an advanced alien world it's population flees into space so they can get as far away from him as they can. I remember years ago, reading a comic that Rachel Summers 'Phoenix' took on Galactus and they fought to a standstill. In the end, Galactus says something like "I fight with the power cosmic the here and now, you, on the other hand, you draw upon the power of life to be, robbing the future" Shaming her...
Looks like the celestials' power has been scales down in the MCU and the collector says 6 singulaties were the ones b4 the multiverse ( Nemesis storyline) and not the first firmament. And Ego was shown to be born in this current universe. Galactus pre-dates this universe and absorbed his universe's Eternity and The Phoenix Force upon universal destruction. While, the celestials are shown to be scientist like, using equipments and experiments, Galactus has all of his power at immediate disposal
From what I've seen/read about the character Galactus I'd say he could defeat a Celestial or two or three if fully fed. My own personal understanding of the character is that he is similar in power and stature to the Celestials yet slightly greater. I say this bc not only is he a Massive, and Massively powerful, being but he is also a force for balance in the universe. For this reason I see him as a being with one foot in the Celestial camp and the other in the Abstract being camp. Is this understanding of Galactus flawed?? I'm open to correction here...
I think your understanding is correct. That's pretty much how Galactus is generally. He is unique in all creation. He exists in the physical universe, but he also occupies a position among the Abstract concepts of creation (in Galactus' case, he represents Necessity). It's one of the reasons I love the character so much. He truly is in a class all his own. He is powerful enough to take on an entire host of Celestials when sufficiently fed. I always like the battle in Earth X, even though that was Franklin who had taken the form and function of Galactus. One thing I dislike, and it came out of Hickman's Mad Celestials story, is the notion that Galactus becomes more powerful by consuming more worlds. That's not how it works. If he's fully fed from a single world, then that's all he needs.
depending on his starting power level yes he can stop a single celestial. He can defeat a couple of them. But, if they all attacked Galactus at once, He will be out numbered and lose. I hate how different EGO's get in the way of writing comics and these movies anymore... Ego is not a celestial. He is an elder.
The Infinity Gauntlet is a good source. The Celestials didn’t even send a squad after Thanos, they sent three. It depends on their interests. Galactus, The Stranger and Ego turned to pure energy and combined their attack on Thanos.
@@l0sts0ul89 He was doing very well against 3 individual celestials but it was when they merged and that combined power in one shot, even then Galactus power is infinite depending on hunger
"Galactus is more powerful...." But has been defeated 10+ times by marginal characters...which is everything that's wrong with comics making it tough to follow.
I hope that eternals movie shows a major change in power with insane fights, as they nerfed tf out of some of the strongest mortals like scarlet witch and the hulk.
There are a lot of versions of Galactus that Stop devouring Worlds And nothing Bad ever happened H*ck even The Living Tribunal stated that a Lifebringer Galactus might not be a Bad Idea And if it wasn't for Silver Surfer getting scared of Ultron we would still have Guess Marvel really wanted to restore the Status Quo when they could have used Galactus's Daughter or Grandson (that are still considered Canon to Earth-616 but have never been utilized since the end of the Comic dedicated to her) The only Bad thing that happened whas when Galactus died (as this Unleashed a Crazy Cosmic Being But that Cosmic Entity is currently still Dead)
I just hope they dont ruin him. Turning him into an enemy makes as much sense as a tornado as a villain. He's a force of the universe and not a bad guy like Thanos.
I never got too deep into the internals and what I have seen I didn't really like so I hope the MCU introduces them in a way that will make them extremely likable
Galactus belongs to the 6th multiverse, became Galactus in the 7th one and passed on to the 8th and established as a fundamental force of reality. Celestials, however strong they may be, are still sentient life forms of the first universe, which puts them a stage below the fundamentals like Eternity, Infinity, Order, Chaos, Galactus etc 'IF' the Celestials could defeat Galactus, the other forces must intervene or simply re-establish him and take out the celestials. Who knows, maybe it was Galactus alongside knull and other fundamentals who took all of 'em down...
Galactus is literally the natural predator of the Celestials. He preys upon and consumes planets containing Celestial seeds, so as to absorb it's energy and also control the Celestial population.
The Cartoons depicting Galactus during the course of this video are just... EXCRUCIATING to look at! Holy shit, does Marvel Animation leave a whole hell of a lot to be desired!! Good thing they're so good at making live-filmed movies, because their animation department definitely falls short of standards! In some of these animations, the depiction of Galactus is almost... INSULTING!
My personal theory is that the Eternals will be introduced in their movie against the Deviants, and that they will team up with the new Avengers in a later movie against Galactus.
2:37 Knull is also known as Knull The Living Darkness you can see him in one of the First Episodes Of Season 2 of Marvel Hulk and The Agents Of S. M. A. S. H.
Can you imagine lots of the normal human sized MCU characters all trying to defeat and bring down a single huge character like Galactus. Like the giant man scene in civil war except alot more high scale of course
Well in Avengers 2 when thor was having the vision they showed Galaticus. And I was like ooohhhh!! CAN'T wait for Galaticus to appear in a big major movie event.
Galactus is stronger than some of the named and important celestials. Galactus is for sure not stronger than the Dreaming Celestial. That Celestial is equal to the Fulcrum. That's at the top of the Marvel hierarchy. Galactus is stronger than regular Celestials. Galactus is a singular entity that serves an universal purpose; Where as the Celestials are a race of entities that serve an universal purpose. So, average Celestials would need a group or combine forms to defeat him. But the strongest Celestials should be almost as strong, as strong and some being stronger than Galactus. Btw, Galactus is a plot convenient character. And characters like that are crappy and used for crappy writing. Make him do whatever the plot demands.
@@solairlordofsunglight5196 Galactus is Marvels biggest jobber. BUT in essence he is still Eternities and Infinities equal. From the very start. Marvel asshat writers just take the easy route by introducing a new universal threat by curbstomping Galactus. A fully fed Galactus is absolutely Eternities equal and above ANY celestial. Period.
I would think that if Galactus was taken down by a celestial, or celestials, that the Living Tribunal would consider that an imbalance of the universe and would heal Galactus to his normal state, as the Living Tribunal is the Judge, Jury, and Executioner of the universe.
@@j_g9724 In one comic era, LT was definitely more powerful than everyone else save The One Above All, and the Beyonder(s). But to keep things interesting, Marvel changed all that with Ultimates 2. LT’s power is now limited to the age of the multiverse, so although he holds a high rank, his powers aren’t what they were pre-Secret Wars. Part of me likes that they mixed things up but part of me also misses the simplicity of the old hierarchy. It is what it is I guess lol.
WTF, Non-comic readers are too obvious with their comments. There is only One Above All, he created everything from an empty void to the first universe, celestials creating aspirants, including the rebellious celestials, forming the multiverse and the eternity. And One Above All refers to Stan Lee. And Fulcrum is also known by his human name "Jack". And Jack refers to the co-creator of Marvel Comics, the great Jack Kirby. In other words, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created their own character for themselves and put themselves as gods in the Marvel comics.
No way, The best depiction of galactus I’ve seen was in the fantastic four cartoon when Tony Jay voiced him. I doubt there will ever be a better sounding Galactus than Tony Jay!!
Interesting thing about galactus is he welds one of the most powerful weapons in the MCU ....and can summon it at anytime and anywhere and it will come to him. ULTIMATE NULLIFIER!!
Mad props to Null of 616 mentioned as killing a Celestial in the Marvel universe. I hope that character gets a good spotlight in the future, perhaps with Venom & Carnage at his side... After all, Google Null & check his info if not familiar with the Symbiote God. After all the MCU could use a nice run in with the darkest symbiote of all. I'm detecting some major clashes of the Celestials coming up in the MCU as well, Surely the mention of Galactus in the Eternals would be cool, or, if Marvel wishes they could have Glaactus in a series instead, which is just as decent of an idea. After all 10 episodes of the World Eater would be cool along side with Silver surfer in a live action series..
Well in terms of galactus’s power, there’s like 3 celestials that are more powerful than galactus, tbh though would be better if they changed this for the movie and made it so that galactus is significantly stronger than most of them with a few being able to engage him in battle and like 3 being able to do serious harm to him, I also think they should carry the theme of the celestials being creators (the cosmic architects) an galactus being a destroyer
@@TXswizzler two are debatably stronger than him but I’m pretty sure they are: Arishem the judge & The one above all (celestial not marvels equivalent of god). The other one is more powerful than galactus though an that’s Tiamut the dreaming celestial, he was so powerful even galactus steered clear of him
I think it would be a smart idea if the villain in the Eternals movie is Apocalypse. It'll make so much sense since Apocalypse's abilities stem from his encounter with celestial technology. Plus it'll be a cool way to introduce mutants into the MCU
Is not true in this form, it's not about the power. Galactus is a part of the galactic equilibrium. As such he is protected by the Living Tribunal, therefore cannot be permanently destroyed.
Galactus is more powerful than any Celestial, he feeds on them, he is the balance literally to keep them in check, he is the natural predator to Celestials, only the Phoenix force really rivals him, The One Above all has no rival.
TL;DR 1v1 Galactus slaps 95% of the Celestials. But if 3 or more Celestials fuse into 1 being, Galactus loses. And that's average strength Galactus. Black winter Galactus is a whole other story tho
Galactus does not hunger for destruction. Galactus absorbs energies of planets that have Celestial embryos at their core. And there's one at earth's core.
It would depend on how well fed Galactus is. And there appears to be no upper limit how much energy he can consume. If he consumes TAA II he could definitely take out a Celestial. The innards of a Celestial appear to be a bioverse and we know Galatcus needs the bio energies of planets so it is plausible Galactus can consume them.
I admit I'm a Galactus fan boy but his biggest downfall in a battle with celestials is that Galactus has such huge power requirements. He would have to be completely full to defeat the others before his power ran too low. And would the Silver Sufer be there to assist Galactus. The circumstances I think play a huge role in the success of celestials or Galactus.
That's a direct result of Galactus being overused throughout the years. Used to be that he could eat a planet and be perfectly fine. Nowadays, it seems that he eats a planet and is hungry again and weakened within 5 minutes. It's ridiculous! LOL Too many writers have come along and mucked up him (and other cosmic characters) too much due to lack of understanding and lazy writing (but mostly due to making him a jobber to put their own latest and favorite character over).

I am sure Galactus is more powerful than some celestial sure, but I don't think all celestials are on the same power level as each other, an I do believe there are some who are beyond Galactus an most other cosmic beings, for example Tiamut.
Actually one specific celestial frightened him when it woke up Also he is more likely to spare a planet if he is strong than when he is weak because he only consumes them to survive so if he doesn't really need the planet that badly he's more calm. Also he's defeated both Odin and Thanos (and no thanos having the gauntlet doesn't count as that's not part of his powers as anyone can wield it)
If they introduce Galactus as well as the fantastic four which we know they are doing that at least soon I wonder if we will see the ultimate nullifier as well considering that is the only thing in the multiverse Galactus is afraid of
Of course Galactus will be considered to be like the strongest, powerful villain- okay let put this way that there are some villains/heroes he can't beat in a battle
Lifebringer galactus can probably slaps the Celestials race if he wanted to. Since he was an equal to Multi-Eternity(Who is comparable to the First Firmament).
@@Jyappino1010 LB Galan is a completely different story as he's so much stronger than he's ever been and was essential for the reformation of the new cosmos
(1)Mad Celestials are confirmed to be Equal to Earth-616 Celestials I don't know if this mean that their Merged form should be considered Equal or Superior to The Strongest 616 Celestial but i think it can at least be comparable (2)Lifebringer isn't equal to Multi-Eternity But can be safely said to be Stronger than the Fourth Host (616 Celestials) because he was able to go toe to toe with Logos (and Logos destroyed the Celestials)
@@nesq4104 Author intent is still there dude. The execution may have left something to be desired but the intent to show that Galactus can be beat by multiple Celestials working in tandem was there. Just accept the compliment that at least the writers admitted the Celestials are a pack wolves compared to the big bad bear that Galactus us and move on.
Galactus should be at least like 10x bigger than Celestials because he is an Aspirant, and whats bigger than the Aspirants is the universe itself (ex. First firmament) [First Firmament created Aspirants, they created Celestials, and the Celestials created humans, deviants and eternals]
Celestials form from the end of universal cycles. Galactus formed in a similar way, but in an independent manner, absorbing the power of his entire universe as it was destroyed and then entering our universe just as it was created, so Galactus has the power of his old universe plus taps into the power of this one. So Galactus is more powerful than a celestial but not necessarily more powerful than all of them combined. Also, it is possible he could someday join the Celestial ranks, possibly as their leader. Also, the big spoiler: Earth is a Celestial egg.

Marvel has the coolest characters ever. Don't @ me
@Araptor in comics they are equal as a comic fan I'm say because of endless and angled DC has a edge
The problem with portraying any of these interesting characters is simply the problem of scale. No one ever seems to get it right
depending on his starting power level yes he can stop a single celestial. He can defeat a couple of them. But, if they all attacked Galactus at once, He will be out numbered and lose.
I hate how different EGO's get in the way of writing comics and these movies anymore... Ego is not a celestial. He is an elder.
That’s what I was gonna say, everybody knows ego isn’t a freaking celestial!
@John W.B
Basically it took only fucking THREE Celestials to beat up Galactus, and there are so many more.
Also depends on the celestial. The more powerful celestial make galactus look like ant.

Galactus belongs to the 6th multiverse, became Galactus in the 7th one and passed on to the 8th and established as a fundamental force of reality.
Celestials, however strong they may be, are still sentient life forms of the first universe, which puts them a stage below the fundamentals like Eternity, Infinity, Order, Chaos, Galactus etc
'IF' the Celestials could defeat Galactus, the other forces must intervene or simply re-establish him and take out the celestials.
Who knows, maybe it was Galactus alongside knull and other fundamentals who took all of 'em down...
A bit late, but also if they stick to the comic powers and don’t nerf him, he can revive himself even if death says no.

Galactus is a force of nature.

In one comic era, LT was definitely more powerful than everyone else save The One Above All, and the Beyonder(s).
But to keep things interesting, Marvel changed all that with Ultimates 2. LT’s power is now limited to the age of the multiverse, so although he holds a high rank, his powers aren’t what they were pre-Secret Wars.

It would depend on how well fed Galactus is. And there appears to be no upper limit how much energy he can consume. If he consumes TAA II he could definitely take out a Celestial. How can galactus be beneath something he is destined to devour at the end of the universe? Celestials being above him is silly.
We know that he may already exist due to GOTG: Vol 1. They used the Galactus protocol to evacuate the planet. At least that's what I'm calling it.
LOL

Celestials form from the end of universal cycles. Galactus formed in a similar way, but in an independent manner, absorbing the power of his entire universe as it was destroyed and then entering our universe just as it was created, so Galactus has the power of his old universe plus taps into the power of this one.
