Watch stuff and learn and chill hi whatsup ⚔️👋🧐
Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through RUclips videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. Let's be respectful but, just as importantly, not be afraid to question any and everything about historical records in order to give us the most accurate representation of the history of our species and of our planet!
Having a diverse perspective is crucial to what I want to achieve here so please don't hold back! I want to learn about all I can! Keep recommending and PLEAESE join my Discord :) ( / discord )

Napoleonic era military uniforms are great. Worst: Cracows are those pointy Medieval shoes. Named after a city in Poland. The tips got so long they had to add a string from the tip up to your calf to keep you from tripping yourself!
Sounds like modern day winkle pickers ha ha
you may have gotten the green walls wrong.
Scheele's Green was made by blending copper and oxygen with arsenic. quite hazardous.
I can readily convert current money to 1914 silver money (2023 dollar is 0.054 of a 1914 dollar ... British Pound is worse, just 0,019 of its former value). Just redid that again yesterday. Before that it is trivial if you go by weight of gold or silver all the way back to 600 BCE. Early inflation was measured by the price of barley ... the labor cost of which was almost constant before 1815, but land cost is not. A Babylonian shekel weight of anything was defined as the same weight as 180 grains of dried barley. In the Bronze Age, silver was so rare (actually before 515 BCE) it wouldn't' make sense to price things in silver or gold. Currently the price of a bushel of barley is $5 or 8.89 shekels of barley for $1. Of course, cost of barley is down relative to 1815 because of farm automation.
A most excellent explanation!
