I booked a standard room with a sea view at the crown spa hotel for 2 nights and we had full access to the full hotel spa Accessories and what a fantastic place BUT you will be very Surprised with what my vu light finds within the room at night .

I bet a lot of people will start taking UV lights on holiday with now you've shown what hide's from the naked eye and if they do and they start to complain about the things they find in their rooms the hoteliers will start upping their game a bit, you might have single handedly started to raise the standards of UK hotel + B&B industry.🙂

I live in Scarborough and worked at many hotels, I currently work at a hotel not far from the Crown Spa. Housekeeping staff are always under pressure to get as many rooms done during their shifts and usually in the winter months the hotel gets a deep clean. The iron on the wall outside the cupboard is common place in some hotels especially the Grand Hotel because people put them back in the cupboard still warm and could become a fire hazard. Hotel fire alarm systems are very sensitive especially in The Grand Hotel where I’ve worked many times and witnessed a birthday candle set the alarm off. I was standing outside the Crown Hotel the other morning and noticed the building is looking run down in areas. The hotel is owned by a Malaysian company who bought it for £15 million (it was built in 1844 at a cost of around £12,000) I must admit that the UV light showing up many stains really surprised me because I know people who work there, I shall share this with them. Nonetheless this was a good video and an unusual choice of hotel most hotel reviews feature the three main ones at the other side of the bridge lol.
In the summer it looks like a seagull colony! When I risk going past it, I have to run through the seagull poop - both on the ground and flying. The gull-poop smell too is very strong. Every ledge and windowcill is occupied by nests - it's pretty bad!

The price was just a little bit high but reasonable considering you get to use the spar, pool etc, I'm guessing the cleaners do just enough to keep on top of it without doing a deep clean, and the fixture and fittings probably don't get reported so go unchecked. I imagine it would have been more expensive if you'd gone during peak season!
I just hope Emma and yourself had a lovely time overall.

@@Thehotelhunteruk great to see. I think if you are a lover of swimming pool ect maybe room was worth it. Think food was pricey for what you had. Definitely think those things you mentioned ie. loose light in shower in shower ect should be done seeing as your paying top price. Be worth seeing when you do the lower price room.

Hi Dan happy birthday to your wife mate yeah breakfast looked decent but dinner looked a bit disappointing I would have went to the chippy saved myself a few quid ,overall hotel looked ok but don’t think it should be 4star maybe 3 just think for the money that you paid or for anyone else for that matter these days they could make a bit of an effort and at least give you bottle of wine on arrival in room overall though not too bad considering you could use the other facilities and being honest I think that’s what you paid for take care to you both and hope you enjoyed your weekend 👍👌❤️

The bathroom is disgusting but the room was good, the TV should go up on the wall at the bottom of the bed, apart from the bathroom the room is great thanks Dan 😊 👍

You would be hard pressed to find a really clean hotel. The problem is cleaner’s are only given a short period of time to clean a room so they just skim over it. It’s all down to money get it ready quickly for the next Customer.
I was just going to make the same point, I think the staff get around 25 mins per room & that includes bed changes. Impossible to clean properly in such a short time.

Stayed there , not to bad , staff seemed to be running around, breakfast not brilliant, the cheaper option, you got one egg 1 sausage,1 a ration of bacon for £10, and put in a side room , away from the toffs lol,
But nice to be able to swim ..... although cold
Bet that toilet is fixed to the wall ! , and the Sink . 😂🙂

Bit out of our price range but still good to see. Looked very nice, I was suprised at the bathroom. That was not good. Marks on the walls and ceilings are forgivable, not the bathroom or bedding, although your bed looked fine.

When we stayed we had to change rooms three times due to dirt, noise and smell of weed, the staff were lovely and the spa and pool were nice but busy, was it four stars not in our option but it’s not bad at all I’d say more three stars pretending to be four stars
You need a white suit like the mister clean in the old commercials for doing your inspections , that would be fun
I stayed at Tall Storeys Hotel when I was there. Lloyd Webber owned it. Try that. Very nice.

Bit steep for Scarborough and that hotel room tbh it was mingin I’d not have stayed in it. I’m not a snob by any means but you paid well over the odds for the room and the meal. There are some nice restaurants in Scarborough better and cheaper.! But if you and your Mrs was happy then that’s all that counts 😊

I worked at a hotel the cleaners where running round trying to clean as many rooms as possible if they didn't finish they had to stay behind with out pay needless to say I lasted half a shift then walked out .
Can you do the same to your bathroom at your home as you know what cleaning you do ?

Pretty expensive for what it was it. I’m a bit sad you never managed to get Emma her first room service as well. Great video though my Mrs is enjoying the series as well.

Pool, spa, sauna, jacuzzi, and ice room are brilliant two saunas, one hotter than the other. The showers are not brilliant, but you get a shower in your hotel room. Thank you for your comment. Please can i ask if you are the person who just subscribed to my channel please ?

@Thehotelhunteruk Bit, too pricey. We Love Scarborough, we've stayed in a few B and B's on Columbus Ravine Road, 3 star , which were a lot less, but did have a pool . Peashome Park is great. Did you go round? They have a beautiful Chinese garden at the top. Definitely worth a visit.
Have you never stayed in a hotel before? It’s pretty normal for hotels to take a credit card on checking in. Think you got ripped off for the hotel room anyway mate to call that an executive suite is a stretch, the state of it!

The bathroom is disgusting 🤢 and the room is very basic for a penthouse…i would expect a far bigger room, with a balcony etc…to me that’s a very basic room, with no room service and nothing in the minibar…I would’ve complained…DON’T FEEL UNGRATEFUL YOU’RE PAYING…it’s well below par for a suite; it’s a basic room…great vid ❤
