One of the best games I ever seen, Dark Panther copying CED, an OTK, the most F***ed up Yata lock I ever seen. This is why I’m glad I subbed so many years ago.
Game 1 - 35 turns, win with Magical Scientist direct attack, it was fun to watch.
2-2 this is getting very exciting.
Game 5 - Every time you have used Sixth Sense in the tournament you always hit the 5 or 6, you are so lucky lol. And there it is, the Yata lock for win.
Metalfoes 3-2, should be a great game either way.
Goddam Sixth Sense is cheating when in Lithium's hands. He's an anime protagonist at this point.
Those duels were something straight out of the anime. Felt like a kid again watching this happen on kids wb on a Saturday morning.(and speaking of kids wb, pikachu detective looks unexpectedly good)
Monarchs 3-2 but its really a coin flip.
If this was an anime duel than it at least would have been fun to watch

Next... match... is... HYPE. Much as I like Monarchs, I feel that Metalfoes should just about edge it. Kirin isn't all that powerful here though so it's really tight. 3-2.
That last game how it turned out is honestly amazing.

Now this is Yugioh I like to watch and play. 35 turns game 1, crazy comebacks, even crazier topdecks, never knowing who is going to come on top.... Feels good to see these kind of duels, since all we get today is boring ftks and Firewall loops..
Totally agree. Decks back in the day are a lot slower: 1 maxx c or 1 effect veiler usually meant end turn for the opponent, 1 monster reborn or mirror force or torrential tribute meant huge change of momentum in the game; the games were more fun to play and even more fun to watch, people actually get excited drawing into their one off's and sack their way out of awful situations. Now days we have Firewall loop and "break my board or prepare to die" and "no hand traps? you lose" formats, it gets old very quick.
as refreshing as that first duel was, a 35 turn game is just as bad if not worse that a 5 min match nowadays. Cool to watch, not to play. But power creep is inevitable in most TCGs.
@@otlantisbishop2139 What's wrong with playing 35 turn games? I love when games last longer. Like in goat format for example, you actually dig deep into your deck, and find ways to outsmart your opponent, waste their resources, bait the nobleman or something like that, instead of just one turn killing everything, like every deck these days has the power to otk every other deck (or maybe 2 turn kill if not the one)
nothing inherently wrong with goat format. Not disagreeing with you, goat format takes a level of skill few have, but I didn't enjoy the format, personal preference, not my play style. Can't expect 2018 yugioh to be like 2003 yugioh because of power creep.

Two of my fav decks finally clash, Metalfoes 3-2, but Monarch can surprise too.
This reminded me so much of the old, slower formats instead of all the link vomit we have today; great duels! next match is gonna be close but kirin is too busted so 3:2 for metalfoes.

That was a fantastic match. The back and forth between Chaos and Synchro Cat was a joy to watch.
For the next match, I have a feeling it will be very close. Metalfoes is by far the much more consistent deck and the pendulum mechanics inherent recursion help give it an edge, but this is the one match up for Metalfoes where Kirin and Vanity's Emptiness aren't automatic game winners as Monarchs being a tribute summon deck can easily play around the both of them. I won't be surprised to see Metalfoes win, but I'm going to go with my favorite deck of the two, Extra Deck Monarchs, taking it in a close 3-2, provided they don't brick =P

This was one of the most intense games I’ve seen yet, this is what happens when two decks are forced to actually interact!! Amazing work although I was rooting for cat, didn’t matter who won this one as they were both my top decks in the cup.
Hoping monarchs can pull through on this next one!
This match could have fit into the anime easily with all the twists. Chaos always makes it fun to watch.

Absolutely stunning to watch, I love pre-synchro decks. The reverse Chaos Emperor Dragon into Yata lock was particularly tasty. Looking forward to more Chaos games :D 35 turns at the start was incredible fun to watch, the top deck slog was fantastic

amazing match, 35 turns game 1, Synchro Cat coming back after 0-2 and what in the name of the egyptian gods was game 5. The only thing that confused me a bit at first was JonesXD's investment in game 2 to clear 4 Scapegoat tokens while not really having a chance to OTK and you having still 5 cards in your hand (although he might have thought you had bricked and ending with Stardust is pretty solid against Chaos), but after this game 1 I think everything was on fire.
Monarchs vs. Metalfoes could go either way. Even though Monarchs have easy outs to Kirin with Stormforth and Erebus, I have a feeling Metalfoes might win due to Monarchs bricking...

Might be a stupid question but how come dark panther only did 2400 at the end? 10 cards sent to the grave x 300 = 3000?
I was thinking about the same thing. Till it dawned on me. I think it's because he's using the latest version of CED. It only burns for your opponeats sends. Not yours. That's the only thing that makes sense. The Syncro Cat should have won if he was using the old one.
