After the ASP made a no-go call for the Big Wave World Tour event at Punta de Lobos, Chile, last spring Ramon Navarro and Los Buscagigantes paddled out into a classic session during the biggest swell of the year. Aside from the usual faces, global surf pilgrim and ex WSL surfer, Damien Hobgood also showed up and under the aegis of Ramon Navarro, and paddled into the bomb of the day. Watching Punta at it's best should be one considered one of the wonders of the modern world. This wave is so big and so perfect it boggles the mind. If you got an invite from Ramon and the crew (including Christian Merello, Natxo Gonzalez, and Chacha Ibarra, among others) would you paddle out?

Wow, never new Punta de Lobos got that big. All the biggest footage I've seen previous to this video was less than half this size. Wish I was somewhere in the Pacific for this swell, rather than landlocked in northeast Washington State. Thanks for the teleport.

It would be nice if the editing allowed more of the wave to be shown, longer segments. I would like to see if the riders made it through some of those waves.
It looks like most had to straighten out. The wave was breaking way to fast. Looks like it needs to be a tow in for you to actually ride the wave other than drop in and close out.

Your standing upright to soon stay compressed till you hit the bottom turn then stand up with all your might and you will gain speed and be in better control as you take off cause when you stand up all the way at take off you have no way to take up the slack as you drop in I Iearned this skate boarding and took it to the surf on the NorthShore it will help you bigtime by doing this
