Hey Andrew! Thanks, always, for your insight. I've been watching your videos for quite a long time now. I wanted to let you know, that you give off the aura of a "friend" or a "buddy", by the way you speak to us. Wanted to compliment you on that, I think it does an excellent job with viewer retention. Great work on everything, keep it up, dude
Hey Jake thanks so much! That means a lot, glad you dig the content.
P.S., my first instinctual response was "i'm not your buddy guy" lol ruclips.net/video/zuQK6t2Esng/видео.html
@@AndrewSouthworth LOL! a classic
Interesting how you got these stats.... remember when SFA actually let you compare 2 other artists, streams/listeners, etc? Bummer they got rid of that last year.
is it 2pac??? Did you get it through lonelyboy or something
yes
I figured out who it is and BRO insane that u have this lmaooo
Who🤔

This video was awesome. I've always wondered about stats like this from big artists
Would be nice to get 1.6 billion streams. I'm lucky if I get 1.6 hours 😄
🤣🤣 It's tough, bro
How the hell did you get 2pacs stats
An artist I have access to released an album and tagged him as a primary artist, therefore it gave me access to 2Pac's stats because I had access to the artist that did it.
Definitely unethical on the artist's side, but was very happy to get such an exclusive look into 2Pac's stats.
literally all 'big' artists have connections with labels and spotify. they guarantee editorial spots before tracks are even released. chumps like us gotta spend THOUSANDS before we even get noticed.
It's not even just big artists either. I work with a lot of indie labels or small artists signed to labels, and there is a specific process they go through to have regular meetings with someone from the Spotify or Apple Music editorial team to pitch songs either in person or on Zoom calls.
As you can see though, the editorial playlists don't matter that much in the grand scheme of things. They help, but it's not a career changer in most situations.
@@AndrewSouthworthAndrew, about Editorial Playlists, am I right to say that for some instrumental genres or ambients, soft piano, sleep... it seems that those editorial playlists are quite important (95%+ of the audience being passive in those genres most of the time). So I guess the genre matters a lot for analyzing stats?
That could be true. But considering 99% of music in those genres doesn't get on an editorial I can't imagine it's the only path. I know people in lofi / piano / sleep music making a living and have never been on a single editorial playlist.
Tupac
how does one even collect royalties from a artist page like this. or how does the algorithm even work with so much data
Who guessing this is in the comments? I'm wondering how recent this is cause Drake has 82 Mill on Spotify currently 🤔 my other guess is Travis Scott but he's at like 70 mill currently but maybe around Utopia still being fairly new 👀
Edit: Scratch that 22 Mill monthly listeners, classic rap artist 🤔
It's French Montana
It's 2Pac. I just verified the monthly listeners to the follower count. It's actually shocking he somehow got access to this.
@@antoniowhitfield2936 he did say legendary artist, definitely makes more sense than French Montana lol that's craaazzyyy tho! Like how?!
@@FoolishTy yeah no idea lmao but that’s pretty crazy
@@antoniowhitfield2936 holy s*** just checked it's really 2 pac!
Yo Andrew! You were saying “Streams” when you were looking at “listeners”. This why you thought some of the numbers were pretty low! I haven’t got thru the entire video so you might’ve noticed, but yeah. Just thought I’d let you know.
Nevermind, I just saw the part where you figured it out. Haha!
When I realized that in the video, I was thinking 'wow I bet someone is going to comment about this before they get to the point in the video where I realize it', and i'm glad to see I was 100% right about that haha. Glad to see people are paying attention ;)
Consider the fact this artist came out two decades before Spotify even existed
Cool little applet! Can you send a link to it so I can see other artists? Is it on your website?
Why didn’t u go into the 28 day cycle to show a typical month . Should do another video
Tuvalu? Isn't that a place near Australia? It was in a Michael Vey book
2pac for sure
the question is how he got access to Tupacs spotify for artists but yep checks out
@andrewsouthworth this video was amazing can you make a video on how long could it take to reach a point of having 1 million monthly listeners? or even hit the top 300. And what that budget would look like and how long it would take? And expect earnings once someone reaches that point etc?
If you’re top 300 artist in the world that means you’re one of the most famous people on the planet. There is no realistic way to achieve that
curious question, has all these streams actually been felt in real life? as in do these artists or you get book for shows and such to perform? like are all these ads actually worth it? and not just for streaming purposes but for the overall progress of the artist?
I've seen artists in my local scene with millions of Spotify streams struggle to sell out small venues. Streams are still good to have but Meta ads should only be used as PART of your marketing and promo venture. Building up community in your city and networking with other artists and industry personnel is another part that is even more important
If you do nothing else but promote Spotify, you could end up in a situation where you can't draw a crowd anywhere. Similar to how there are so many TikTok artists with massive numbers that struggle to sell tickets. However the numbers do make it drastically easier to start getting shows as many venues / bands won't even consider you if you have small numbers.
You gotta get people excited to come out and see you live and build that relationship with them. It will translate to some degree of course. But having 2,000 listeners in LA doesn't mean you'll be able to fill a 2,000 cap venue in LA.
Great video!
Who is it come on haha
2pac from what ppl r saying. Seems to match up
Hey how can i upload AI generated songs on Spotify? Does Spotify allow AI generated songs ?
They do actually allow it, and you upload them just like you would any other human made song using a distributor.
@@AndrewSouthworth thanks 👍
I’m guessing Kendrick
Yer wrong kid, its 2poc
