Nice to see that, Dave. Thanks. The Bus Station was always my point of entry into "town" on the 330/331 from Almondsbury as a kiddy! When i went with my mum during the school holidays, our treat was to get a slice of gala pie from the deli counter in the old Lewis's food hall (not John Lewis) on the Horsefair and take it home for our dinner!
I'm not sure - it's been 60 years since we left Bristol for Canada but I'm pretty sure this is the depot my Dad (Frank Pratt, conductor and later driver) worked out of. He took me into the canteen, where as a young boy, I was able to add to my vocabulary...
2:55 Badgerline to HONG KONG? Many Leyland buses were sold to KMB(Kowloon Motor Bus) in Hong Kong, in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. And more recently some HK Leyland double-deckers came back to the UK, and were used by Megabus.
I think they were Badgerline buses in the first picture. I used to go in there every week and buy 2001AD . Great newsagents. And the stairs to the toilets were coin operated so you literally had to spend a penny. More like 5p in my day :)
In my youth there were 2 direct routes to Gloucester … either on the busy route to Cheltenham via Thornbury and Berkeley or on the 526 via Wotton-under-Edge and Stroud.
Thanks for uploading these, i remember the station of the late 80's onwards very well, bringing back some happy childhood memories

Hello Michael. To me Bristol built buses will always be best. Regards Dave.
Thanks for that one. I can't remember the number for Portishead, old age!
You're welcome! Regards Dave.
Bus to Portishead used to be 358.
I think in the 60s the Portishead bus was the 85?
