This was performed at Cap City Comedy Club. It was the main comedy club in Austin for many years, though it no longer exists. It was in a random strip mall in north central Austin, not downtown or near anything cool. Right next door to it was this weird restaurant called Drakula with a very prominent sign, that also no longer exists. (Contrary to Norm’s comment in the set, it actually did serve Romanian food.) You truly could not enter Cap City without noticing there was a restaurant called Drakula next door, and it kinda made you go “wtf who would name a restaurant that.” I tell y’all this to emphasize the genius of Norm; there is no way he spent any significant amount of time writing or perfecting all that Dracula/vampire material. Sorry you lost your mom. I also lost one of my most favorite friends from almost 20 years ago, about a week before Norm passed. It was very odd because my friend always reminded me of Norm, in the way he was just completely unique and original and funny in nearly everything he did. Always always making people smile. I once read a comment on one of these Norm videos one time that said something like, 'I think Norm MacDonald is an angel or an Ascended Master of comedy, who incarnates every time the world is going thru massive changes to make people smile and laugh about anything.' I think that kinda fits. His comedy, his mind, his eyes, his playful childlike rebelliousness, all of it is designed to penetrate our defenses and defy all possible expectations, and to laugh at the most mundane things and ourselves.

I noticed that too, I'm sure he chose those names deliberately even though he knew an American audience wouldn't know about them. His own little private joke.
He does that a lot. A commentor got upset because he used Alec Majuersken's name. The guy said he was some sort of athlete from Norway or something. He sounded offended. It's like Burt Muston.
And he remained in tact with his stand up. He didn't go into acting because he ran out of material like so many hacks before him (Crystal, Steve Martin -- yeah, steve stupid, R. Williams. The list is endless.) Norm was a thinker. He filled his acts with new and old material, yet refined and aged like wine.
So I work for a bank and we had a meeting with “icebreakers” and one was to go around the room and say “if you could have lunch with one person, living or dead, who would it be?” And everyone else is naming a dead relative, or some inspirational wise person, or Jesus. I say Norm Macdonald and I swear, the air gets sucked out of the room for a moment. I LOVED it. :)

“Whoa what are ya doin there Brian?!! What’d I tell ya about that?” 😆
RIP Norm
I love hearing all of this stuff..
Norm: "hello everyone"
Crowd: "hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha haha!!!!"
wow, finally stumbled across the set where the “teachers are the real heroes” bit is from. nice surprise!
😂😂😂😂 Norm was the best ever in my opinion .
Easily.
Really enjoyed this. Cheers 👍
Pure genius is all that I can say.
Great show
Wow thanks for digging another gem up
I finally have an answer to the question, "Who would you most like to bring back from the dead and have a beer with?" It's Norm Macdonald... RIP!
But the beer would go right through him, on account of him being a transparent ghost.
Ahmen to that.

Can't top your comment. Shiver me timbers!
Wow! He beat out Marilyn Monroe??
So I work for a bank and we had a meeting with “icebreakers” and one was to go around the room and say “if you could have lunch with one person, living or dead, who would it be?” And everyone else is naming a dead relative, or some inspirational wise person, or Jesus. I say Norm Macdonald and I swear, the air gets sucked out of the room for a moment. I LOVED it. :)
Oh damn Ive listened to the teacher bit and heckler recording a lot, but hadnt heard the whole set! Thanks for uploading
yeah because weirdo's like 'I'm not norm' refuse to upload the full recording, instead cutting up clips and uploading the best parts to increase revenue and dodge copy right. i dont monitise because this is not my work. I'm a norm fan not a norm leech.

Shouts out to the deal going on between the person recording and his guy :)
Classic Hoser. Genius Lives 😎
You have to admit, this woman really had a set of balls to heckle Norm
You could say that. Although, you could say, instead, that she had an exaggerated sense of her own importance, and was a little too self righteous.
Like a lot of teachers 🙂. That is one of my favorite moments in comedy, ever.
