I bought this USB mosquitoe killer last month (April 2022), and lo and behold there was no single mosquitoe up to date trapped or killed. There have been mosquitoes chasing around the house, and couple killed with fly swatter. Very ineffective gadget that passes for scam. I bought this for $39.99 having 5-star rating behind it. Not recommended.

Anyone who's spent enough time reviewing ratings on Amazon products or % likes on RUclips videos would recognize that's an anomaly at best. You can't seem to buy it anywhere but their website either. $40 is that sweet spot where it's not too expensive but cheap enough for most people to not make too much fuss when they can't return it. Flyminator will only accept returns on units unused, in original packaging within 30 days of receiving.

CO2 attracts mosquitos also, so once they're in there's not much you can do. Basically, you have to keep them out, because if they have to choose, they'll always choose you.
People say it doesn't work but you are supposed to put it in a dark room and it cant be underneath a ceiling fan. Not sure if people are doing that. One guy on RUclips ran it for one night at his bin was full of mosquitoes.
I would buy a few if it was Rechargeable,/portable. ut with this, i would need to buy the connecting to the outlet and have the charges that you just used..

Bought this for indoor use for pantry moths, since the advertisement claimed it attracted moths. So far not working at catching anything at all. Also bought some sticky tape trap that has attraction scent and that has worked somewhat. Anyone with pantry moths I would recommend going with a sticky tape trap instead, as this product is useless. Haven't tried it outside as I bought it for indoors, but perhaps does better outside than inside.

I’ve recently found that if you put double sided tape (or roll tape over itself), the bugs stick to the tape and it won’t matter if the unit shuts off.
Most of these devices use cheap leds which won't produce the 368nm UV wavelength and in turn they don't attract any mosquitos. 90% of these Chinese products even if they specify 368nm or lower, they lie about the wavelength just to sell an useless product.
I bought one last summer put in my bathroom where I find a lot of mosquitos 🦟its done absolutely nothing I killed a mosquito myself. I get bit like crazy and I'm allergic so they turn into welts.

There were knats in the area but it did not capture any. There were so many I knew the light attracted them to the area but there were none in the bottom. Maybe it caught some and they flew out. It did not work for me!!!

You explaining this is not 100% i take mine outside and i put a white tissue on the bottom to able to see wat it caught. This caught a lot, instead of letting them dry, i had ants eat them alive. Hows that cleaning the moquito catcher haah.
I dont ever stop to open, it possibly letting go of mosquito or other bugs that arent dead yet. It caught moth, mosquito, some fly. Here is a tip : put some fruit or a bottle cap of soda water in the bottom( inside) ( carbonated drinks they will come) co2. I use a syringe to fill it up the cap.

This seems to grab any type of bug that will fit through the mesh. I use tape inside to make sure the bugs stick inside. I have seen fruit flies in mine.
Hello fellow geeks! Please be aware that this product is advertised on amazon to be emanating UV light at 365nm. For the record Ultraviolet radiation is invisible energy in the wavelength range from 100 to 400 nanometers (nm)... when I tested this product it was not 365nm rather it was a little bit above 400nm which technically isn't UV light. This is probably why the box does not say UV Light rather it says "bionic violet light wave" ... also probably why it has such a bad review (because many people complain that it doesn't work). I personally do not recommend this product. Also, as a side note ... if it miraculously caught 100 mosquitoes but doesn't kill them who would want that annoying mosquito buzzing sound near them? Yikes!
How did you "test" the light? Do you have a color light meter of some kind? Also, there's a quick, inexpensive way to see if any significant UV energy is emitted at all from the light source: cut a small bit off a white sheet of paper (like the kind you use for your printer), and place it under the light in question. A majority of white papers these days contain OBAs (Optical Brightening Agents). If the light emits substantial luminous energy in the sub-400nm range, the paper will reflect a bright, high-energy blue. If the light does not contain a significant amount of UV energy, then the reflection from the paper will look either white/grayish, or at most a pale, low-energy blue.
What issues did you have? We use ours in the summers and it's still working fine. I'd definitely put tape in the bottom of the trap area to make the bugs stick to it so there's no chance of them flying out when you turn it off.

It doesn't use real UV light. Just a purple LED so mosquitoes aren't really attracted to it
