@@Ads97ads If you are building a top of the line gaming rig then it makes perfect sense especially if you are playing somewhat competitive games on a 240hz monitor. For a lot of games I play I'm CPU bound with a 9900k and a 2070 because I'm playing at 1080p mixed, but not very high settings. Spending more money anywhere wouldn't make sense and getting an AMD CPU wouldn't hurt my FPS that much, but it certainly wouldn't help.

Linus has a very good one too, which is called something like « gaming at all pricepoints » or « chezp vs expensive gaming ». Kyle gives you the fastest list you can find for a given budget, but you’ll see some compromises when it comes to uogrades. Linus presents more balanced builds, you’ll get a bit less perf but more « pleasant » builds, better coolers for silence or OC, semi modular psu, a bit fancier cases... Not as much price to performance value but a a bit better experience for those who care.

Pretty sure laptops nowadays have sensor in them that can detect when the device is falling, so the 2.5 inch drives in those can move the heads to the side before the device hits the ground in order to protect data(if not the device as a whole).
While the way a hard drive works may not be that great for some newer, larger games regarding load times, it's fine for others and older games. If the files aren't very fragmented, the heads don't have to move much and sequential read isn't horrible even for slower drives( I have two 4TB 5900RPM drives with 145MB/s read 135MB/s write speeds. Would love more of these in the future. Would love to see a video comparing AMD graphics cards to the Nvidia ones, post the driver update

@@shivansh4581 Depends on the use case, and as per usual blanket statements like this need to come with several caveats. They can be slower when being hit with a large read/write load. If you're using it as, say an OS drive where you're doing primarily read loads, it's slower than an SSD with cache but not as slow as a hard drive. Linus making a blanket statement like this when A) He tested no hard drives and B) he ran a custom write>read>repeat benchmark with a lot of repeats, is a very flawed way to draw that conclusion.
How do I know this is wrong? Well I have the drive that was his worst case in the SSD test, the cheap adata drive, it's the primary (and well only) drive in my game server. It, by itself as the active drive with tasks running (worst case), and it runs about 2x as fast as my former 2 hard disk RAID 0 array with no active programs running off of those disks (best case, aside from adding more drives to the RAID array) in crystaldiskmark. Even a DRAM-less SSD can easily saturate the sata interface and offer you much faster boot/loading times than HDDs even if you're distributing the load among multiple HDDs.
What Linus did was a torture test, pushing the NAND to it's absolute limits (particularly write limits) by doing something that overwhelms the caching algorithm in SSDs, especially DRAM-less ones, the algorithm that allows them to use the QLC/TLC/MLC cells to store a single bit therefor operating as SLC for quick bursts of speed (which is also why him laughing at the product stating it had SLC cache is just plain incorrect). It exposes the raw speed of the nand that only a similar work load could produce, can you think of one?

@@RandarTheBarbarian Finally someone said it...I'm currently using DRAMless SSD right now....its still faster then HDD....because of my use case scenario... as only a boot drive. I'm not doing heavy transfers on it what so ever.~! Even if i do, only 1% of my overall use of this PC.

John Remie Evensen That's because the whole issues come from RDNA 1 users (RX 5000), more specifically, the RX 5700 and 5700XT.
You can thank AMD for rushing out the drivers by using GCN placeholders instead of finishing making proper RDNA drivers.
Now we gotta pray for AMD to get rid of GCN in their future RDNA 2 cards.

PC gamers have endless budgets didn't you know that? I mean who couldnt go out and buy a whole new CPU in just 8 months.
This is actually a really good video to show people when anyone says how cheap PC gaming is these days. 1080p gaming for more around 800$ as this video doesn't even mention a monitor or keyboard / mouse, cables, and good luck getting those parts mentioned for that cheap. The case may be a mini, with mini Mobo, no coolers, no extra fans, and of course the amazing storage you'll get for 20-50$ lol.
It's just a great example. It's more like 800-900$ for " budget " 1080p. Which is pretty sad tbh. I spent exactly that much 8+ years ago for 1080p gaming.
