    The RTX 2060 was indeed considered the entry-level option in NVIDIA's Turing GPU lineup when it was released. It marked a significant leap in performance compared to previous generation GPUs, primarily due to its support for real-time ray tracing and DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling).
    Here are some key points about the RTX 2060:
    1. **Ray Tracing and DLSS**: It introduced hardware-accelerated ray tracing, allowing for more realistic lighting and reflections in games. DLSS helps improve frame rates while maintaining visual fidelity.
    2. **Performance**: The RTX 2060 was well-suited for 1080p gaming, handling most titles at high settings comfortably. It also performed decently at 1440p, depending on the game.
    3. **Specifications**: It features 6GB of GDDR6 memory and a 192-bit memory interface, providing good bandwidth for modern gaming.
    4. **Power Consumption**: With a TDP of around 160 watts, it was relatively power-efficient, making it a good choice for mid-range gaming builds.
    5. **Competitive Pricing**: At launch, it provided a more affordable entry point into the RTX lineup, appealing to gamers looking for advanced features without breaking the bank.
    Overall, the RTX 2060 was a solid choice for gamers seeking a balance of performance and cost, especially with its ability to leverage new technologies like ray tracing.

      3060 will wreck a non-S 2060. A 2060 Super or a 2070 are pretty close to the 3060, but you can get them used for less money than a new or used 3060. Applications like the 256-bit wide memory bus on the 2060S and 2070 better than the 192-bit wide memory bus on the 3060, so if you stream, or do audio/video editing, the 3060 will be slower than the two older cards. The extra memory on the 3060 doesn't really help, because if you're actually running something that maxes out the VRAM, the core doesn't have the power to utilize all that memory to it's fullest potential. Remember, before the 3050 came out, the 3060 was the lowest performing RTX 30 card. The only reason it shipped with the memory that it did, was because a 6gb card wouldn't sell in 2020. The 3050 more recently shipped with 8gb for the same reason. You can't move 4gb cards, anymore. I seriously doubt the 3050 fares any better with the full 8gb utilized on a 128-bit bus, than the 3060 does with 12gb on a 192-bit bus.

    The 2060 is still a great card after three years, but that 6 gb of VRAM really does limit it's possiblities for 1440p. The 12 gb is probably worth spending an extra $40 dollars on as it will age a lot better, and is still better value than a 3060.

    • @Jasontvnd9
      @Jasontvnd9 2 года назад +6

      Seems like at that price point the RX6600 is the card to go for though.
      If the budget allowed a 3060ti seems to be the price/performance king though.

    • @DanielOfRussia
      @DanielOfRussia 2 года назад +4

      Nothing over 1080p even remotely matters for GPUs of 2060's level. Cards below 6700XT/3060Ti haven't got the juice for 1440. The vram "limit" therefore doesn't matter. If there was a 1050Ti with 48 gigs Vram chances are you wouldn't use it for 4K just cause there's enough memory to fit the textures in.

    • @hunterjd

      no it doesn't. 80% of games don't even use more than 4gb in 1440p. 95% less than 6.
