Just took the exam yesterday and got a 978. Thank you so much for the help! The most underrated advice you gave was “take a deep breath you are going to be okay”. I was super nervous at first until I was finally able to relax and focus the exam haha.

@@sawaimalhi8439 I suggest you to really watch Brendan´s videos related to MO-200 exam, take notes and follow his explanations in your own excel document (you can simulate a lot by yourself, create your own data and play with it) this way you can get a good feeling for the locations of the required action within your ribbon tabs.
To put this into perspective, I have used excel during two six month internships, my bachelor´s and for some private calculations, so I am not a pro user yet.
Another suggestion I have is that you look for a channel called Mike´s Office, he has a mock exam and guides you through it. This is very close to the real exam.
@Sawai Halhi what Soap mentions is great advice. Practice is going to be key. Make sure that you are familiar with the functions that you could be asked to perform on the exam. Here is a video that I did on functions ruclips.net/video/Etp4j2LjvZM/видео.html.

If you watch and take notes on all of Brendan's videos on the MO-200 exam, you will pass the test. I spent a week watching all of his videos two times and scored a 978/1000 yesterday!

@Sam Oh You did awesome on the exam! Congrats!... I want to warn you about the Expert Exam. It is going to be much more difficult. You cannot be over prepared for that exam. The wording of the task questions can be confusing and you might need to read the task more than once to understand what they are asking you to do. Also review the exam objectives, specifically the functions for the exam. You can find all of that information here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/mo-200. You should feel comfortable using all of the functions on that list. I wish you the best!
@@Brendan_Sinclair I took the expert exam today and I was able to pass with the score 727. I took a bunch of practice exams including the ones in Gmetrix, and I was able to get perfect scores or close to perfect. But like you said, it was much more difficult, and there were 1 or 2 questions I couldn't answer due to the wording of the question. Thank you again for all of your tutorials and advices. I just took the MO-200 exam today so heres my thoughts/tips
The formatting is really bizarre, the excel interface screen can be quite small when trying to read labels/information on graphs. You will constantly be battling between scrolling up and down between the excel interface screen and the question prompts right below. Make sure you are reading all the questions in their entirety. Flag the ones you dont understand or are in question and just move on. For some reason today when I took it and continued through the 6 projects I was given, I thought I had extra time (17 minutes) to review my answers, only to find out at the last 5 minutes of the exam an entire section was skipped. Somehow during the exam as I was going through the projects it skipped project 3 so there was a bunch of unanswered questions? I had to scrambled to get those done. Most of the questions were just managing workbook options and settings, adjusting language/macros in the options section, modifying a few charts or formulas, record a macro, and then a few formulas you had to create. I ended up passing, but felt a lot of my time was spent fumbling around adjusting the screen between excel and the question section below it or trying to fix the pivot table information so I could see what was in the filters column, etc. Overall not a super difficult exam, I would just make sure you have some practice with formulas, working in pivot tables, some conditional formatting (just a basic knowledge), for some of the more difficult/trickier questions that may come about.

As much as I would like to create a few videos for the MO-101 and MO-201 exams, I do not see that happening in the near future. What is the duration of exam ? What is the minimum time to complete exam ? How much time will be needed to perform one project ? What is the total marks and minimum passing marks ? Do we have to submit our Exam within time ? Or our exam will automatically submit when time finishes ?

@fmih Excel Expert is on my projects list, but I am currently working on something else. Yes, you can take the Excel Expert exam without taking the core Excel exam. Are you planning on taking any other MOS 2016 exams? I ask because both the 2016 and the 2019 exams contain a path for special titles. The 2016 is the Microsoft Office Specialist Master and the 2019 is the Microsoft Office Specialist Expert. In order to obtain those titles, you have to earn specific certifications to qualify. If you don't plan on working on either of those tracks, then I would probably take the 2019 Excel Expert exam if I were in your shoes. Let me give you a word of caution. The Excel Expert exam is a very difficult exam. I cannot encourage you to prepare enough. This link covers the domains of the exam query.prod.cms.rt.microsoft.com/cms/api/am/binary/RE44NP0. @@Brendan_Sinclair no, I don't plan on taking any more 2016 exams. I did pass Powerpoint 2016. I want to focus on just passing the 2019 exams, even though there doesn't really seem to be that much difference between 2016 and 2019 material. If I can pass the Gmetrix Excel Expert, I should be able to pass right? I didn't find it that difficult. Have you taken the 2019 Excel Expert? Thanks for your advice.
@fmih Yes, I have taken and passed the Excel Expert Exam for both 2016 and 2019. Feeling comfortable with the GMetrix content is a great first step. I wouldn’t say that this means you will pass. The expert exams are much more difficult than the core exams. Obviously the content being tested on is difficult, but the wording of the task questions add to the complexity. You have to act on instinct to complete the task. I can’t stress enough knowing all of the functions that you could be tested in.
@@Brendan_Sinclair Do you remember what you saw on the 2019 Excel expert exam that was new? Was it similar to the 2016 Excel expert exam? I found the tasks on the exam to be very similar to the ones on Gmetrix. I had never used and didn't even know what PowerPoint was and managed to pass with a 920 by using Gmetrix and watching your videos.
@fmih I can't share specifics for what I saw on the exam. There is some similarity between the 2016 and 2019 Excel Expert exams. The functions that you could be asked to perform on the exam were updated in 2019. In my mind, I had thought I knew the functions that they would ask me but I was wrong in my assumption. In my opinion, I thought the 2019 exam seemed to be harder than the 2016 exam. A big reason for this is because of the wording of the task questions. Some advice that I give my students when they take the expert exams is you are going to feel overwhelmed at some point in the exam. Take a step back for a second and take a deep breath if you need to. Don't underestimate the difficulty of the 2019 Excel Expert Exam. I don't believe that you can over-prepare for this exam.

Not to sound ignorant, but could someone explain the difference between MS 200 and MS 201 Certifications? I feel like I should know the answer but it's escaping me. How would the exams differ, if they do at all?

@Gregory Green GMetrix is a great resource. I use it in my classroom to evaluate my student's skills. I've had a lot of success in my classroom and I will share one of my biggest secrets to my student's success... I ask my students to get a 900 or better on all of the Practice Exams before I will allow them to take the certification test. Making my students earn that score makes them work through their weaknesses. I also stress the importance of knowing the functions. Make sure that you know them before sitting for the exam. I'm a finance college student, primarily interested in taking the Excel exam but may look to take more. I have some experience using most of the different Microsoft applications.
@coronac805 The process for you is going to be a little different from the process that I would go through for my students taking the exam. Here is a link to Certiport regarding exams: certiport.pearsonvue.com/Certifications/Microsoft/MOS/Certify/Office-365-and-Office-2019. In my opinion, I would begin with the Excel 2019 MO-200 exam. After that, I would look into the Excel Expert 2019 MO-201 exam. The Excel Expert exam is a difficult exam. If you are still looking to earn more certifications, I would look at earn the MOS Expert certification. The link I provided explains how to obtain the MOS Expert certification.

I'm asking because I can get out of a college course if I have an MO-200 certification... but I have a June 15th deadline.

@Andrew Tennant, I would say no for most people, but it is possible. I have helped teachers do it during a two-week crash course quite a few times. Your IT background might be helpful to you. You should look into the GMetrix software for prep. If you decide to get that software, I would encourage you to get at least a 900 on all of their practice tests before you sit for the exam. The main difference is the functions that are used on the exams. This is what I done below, as nothing
1. Locate your local Certiport Authorised Centres (www.certiport.com/locator)
2. Select any the providers and go to the website
3. Then search for, Home Study packages
4. During Covid-19 some providers are offering these packages, but you may need to call or email and request this.
I'm based in UK and www.mousetraining.london is offering a HomeStudy Kit £146
Included in kit: A. MS Official book B. Exam Coupon C. Exam style questions. The owner named Michael really knowledgable (not just a salesman).
**THE BEST BIT** is some providers are doing HOME TESTING!! so need to go to centre.
I ordered the book MOS Study Guide for Microsoft Excel Exam MO-200 and downloaded the exercise folder from the book. Unfortunately, I couldn't open all files. My excel is the most updates one. Anyone can help!? very appreciate it !!!

I am using bought practice exams to prepare for my O365 certification exams and at the moment I am going through the Excel questions but it keeps marking 2 particular questions wrong although I think they are right.
Q1 is format a set of cells so that they show the US $ left aligned and the decimal points all aligned. I am doing this by using the number options, currency and accounting as I believe that this is the only one that meets the requirements.
Q2 is to select text from one cell and use a hyphen (with a space either side) to separate it from text in another cell so that they appear together in one cell for example High - Low. I am using the TEXTJOIN function and the result looks exactly as it should in the result cell but it keeps marking me wrong. Am I doing this incorrectly?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I took the 2019 Excel Expert exam. One thing that threw me off was the ribbon was different on the exam than what I have on my 2019 Home Excel version. The ribbon had icons and not names and I had to hover over each one to see what it was. Everything had been moved around. I was not prepared for this and wasted a lot time. Do you know why the ribbon is different on the exam? Are they using a different 2019 version? Also, when I finished the exam there was a message that there was a error with submisson and to contact the proctor. The proctor didn't have a clue what was wrong. I checked my Certiport account and it says failed but there are no scores.
I am thinking my exam never got submitted.
@fmih I'm sorry that you had this experience. That exam is hard enough without having the issues that you experienced. I think that maybe the reason that your ribbon was different is because of window size of Excel. The ribbon adapts to the size of your program. If the icons can't all fit, they get truncated to make them all visible on the ribbon. Every testing center is different, so you they might been using the 2019 version or they might have been using the 365 version. There are a few differences between the two. The 365 version has a few additions to the ribbon, but I'm not sure if that would have been the reason for your issues. Did the proctor call Certiport to get the issue solved? I would call Certiport and talk to them about the issues that you had. Maybe they can do something for you.
Hello! Is the passing score for Exam MO-200 still 700?
One last question. The test is given using Excel 2019 but I have 365. I have look at so many videos stating that they are the same some say they are different. What are your thoughts?
@Robert Vargas they are the essentially the same. For the purposes of the exam you can think of them as the same.

The process is going to be delayed for a few weeks as school starts back up and the majority of my attention is getting ready for the new school year. It sounds like maybe you were asked to nest a function. For example it would look something like this =PROPER(LEFT(A1:2)).
