The biggest problem I have with Excel is remembering the correct functions for which equations, and how to type them in correctly. I completely blank with anything that has to do with math, and then the panic sets it. I am an English student and can write essays in my sleep, but math/functions/equations? no thanks. Thanks for this video Prof, your calmness makes me believe that I actually am learning and not to overthink the questions. (:

That’s a great point! You totally just made me realize a trick you can use if your mind goes blank because of test anxiety and functions like mine does….I’ll show this in the next one, but you can type in a description of the function in Excel and look up what function to use. It’s not cheating just smart!

I've started studying for the Excel exams. I've had Office 365 (including Excel 365) for over a year, but the online training is apparently done on Excel 2019. The ribbon layout and other details are quite different. How should I deal with this disconnect?

The most challenging task for me was task 4 in the Check Your Worksheet chapter. It's actually not the task that's challenging but more of how the instruction is worded; "swap the data over the axis" doesn't sound anywhere near "switch row/column" and so I had a hard time trying to figure out what the task was asking me to do. But this video helped to clarify how tasks would possibly be worded on the exam, which I appreciate because the task might be written in a way that is difficult to understand but is actually just asking for a simple action.

The most difficult part for me in excel is using ' IF ' formula . I always confused about the exact formula in excel. Sometimes I always forget to put (=) sign between them. Then I start practicing about excel and the way you explained everything is awesome. Like in task 3 question 4, modify the formula to display the letter in upper case is so interesting, I always loved this one , whenever I make datasheets or etc. Through your videos its been so easy to use excel and the person who don't know anything about excel I would suggest to follow your instructions only. By using formulas , its been so easy to calculate several type of data.

For becoming master in excel, I need to be good in mathematical functions. However, your videos are very beneficial for me to in understanding the concepts and formulas of excel. When doing the MOS exam, I already get so anxious and I overthink everything. This was a wonderful video to remind me of what to use and why. I like how you phrase the questions in the language that could potentially be used in the exam. From past experience, they do word things differently and I find this very helpful.

    Hi Prof Mike,
This was a great way to refresh myself with all the equations and possible tasks that we may get on the Exel Exam. I think the most difficult task for me would be having to remember which formula goes with what. I believe that memorizing the formula is the hardest part because you must pay attention to the task details and what they are asking for. For example, in the task with the average bestseller, reading the task carefully was important so that the correct formula is used. What I had done as I was watching the video was taking notes of all the formulas and tasks that I need help with so that those are the tasks I focus on prior to the Excel exam. Thanks for such an amazing and detailed explanation video. It was very helpful.

Sometimes I forget the correct command if it is sum, average, etc. Much more on the more advance part which includes the If, upper, etc. I do have hard time in inserting the correct cell if prompted to do so. One more thing, I am most of the time confused on inserting formula within existing formula. Sometimes I forget to put the open and close brackets and that always mess up the results. I struggle most with the CONCAT formula. I find most functions are straightforward because the name of the function coordinates with what it does. But, I have never heard the word concat in my life, and I am constantly forgetting what it does!
I also tend to forget how to use two functions simultaneously, like you did when making something uppercase and also using the left 3 function. but practice makes perfect!

When it comes to creating tables, spreadsheets, and accurate data analysis, working with Excel is a prerequisite. However, the most interesting and difficult part is remembering the functions, as I am always confused, but after watching this video, I understand how to do the function formula correctly. There are also other parts that are difficult for me, such as conditional formulas and function arguments, as I am sometimes confused about when and how to use Sumif, Averageif, Countif, and Sumif formulas, but after watching this video, I understand fully.
Thank you for uploading this video and I will do more practice in order to acquire good marks in the exam.

The most difficult task for me was choosing or remembering which function to use based on the task or question asked. I find it takes me longer to recognize what is actually needed, however your videos and tips are extremely helpful.

The only problem which I think, I would face are the formulas, especially the 'if' formulas. Maths and functions are sometimes very frustrating, professor's video will help me alot to score the good marks as he has explained eveything very well.

A couple of things that are challenging with Excel is remembering the correct functions for which equations, or what formula to use based on the question can sometimes be confusing. Normally when it comes to exams with numbers, equations, and formulas I tend to blank out or get so nervous I can remember anything, especially if I'm being timed. I can follow the screen tip in the videos when entering the formulas, but tables can always post a challenge for me, as one mistake and it's like you have fallen off a cliff. For myself writing down or printing out how to do a task helps me to better remember or practice for it to actually stick in my head. Hopeful in the MOS exam I will be able to remember everything from the videos to help me pass or even get a good grade. Very educating in this video how you educate the steps with each detail.

This was a staggering strategy for restoring myself with the circumstances in general and potential endeavors that we may get on the Excel Exam. I figure the most irksome part for me would be the need to review which equation goes with what. I acknowledge that holding the equations is the hardest part since you should zero in on the part that what has been asked in the inquiry.
In the event that is most troublesome capacity for me as its requirements practice. Disregarding the way that I have started to work and practice the recipes regular, and simultaneously there are a couple of them that I need to manage. With the assistance of these sort of recordings, I am certain that I will actually want to dominate every one of the troublesome recipes too

This was an incredible method for reviving myself with all of the situations and potential undertakings that we might get on the Excel Exam. I figure the most troublesome part for me would be the need to recall which formula goes with what. I accept that retaining the formulas is the hardest part since you should focus on the part that what has been asked in the question.
IF is most difficult function for me as its needs practice. In spite of the fact that I have begun to work and practice the formulas everyday, yet at the same time there are a few of them that I want to deal with. With the help of these kind of videos, I am sure that I will be able to master all the difficult formulas as well.

I think that the most difficult task for myself displayed in this exam practice will be remembering the formula and what each function is used for. I am no excel expert but I have become more confident in my skills throughout this course.

    Hi Professor!
Learning the fundamentals of MS Excel was quite challenging indeed. I always struggle with the conditional formatting, memorizing all the formulae, and making charts because they can all be tricky and susceptible to errors. I can't thank you enough Professor for every tutorial video you uploaded and making our learning fun and easier!

I would say the problem I often face when using excel is remembering the formulas used to calculate. I often forget to use brackets and I will try to submit the formula and it will not work because of this. I have now written down all of the formulas and this helps me as a reference when doing my work.

The videos overall are so Helpful! I like how you make mistakes and are able to correct them - just as like we would. I alwasy struggle with trying to figure out what the heck excel is actually asking me to do, there are so many formuals and options out there that you have to really read to eliminate alot of the jargon - to figure out clearly what your task is. My only advice is sometimes your excel maybe formatted to something ours isn't. like the fx function, your automatically goes to the "if true" option, mine I have to set up and I struggle with figuring out what it is to get there. The other thing, is when we use a formula and you go to start typing it in, and it comes up, what do we press to use that function instead of writting it all out still. ANYWAY AWESOME semester and thank you! I am WAY less afarid of excel then when I began!

For sure, IF function is most challenging part for me in these set of questions as it's not a very common function for me, if function is quite new for me. Although I have started to work and practice in excel almost daily, but still there are some functions that I need to work on and for sure in this video using If function in the 3rd question of 3rd part was quite a challenge for me to understand.
