I'm a big Ronaldo fan but I agree that someone else needs to be responsible for free kicks. There's also an argument for Ronaldo to retire from the national team as he's 39, hasn't scored in the tournament and Portugal needs to be thinking of the future by giving the others more minutes and experience on the big stage.

1. Burley is absolutely right CR7 should not be on free kicks. I'm not even sure why he wants to be assigned free kicks when his record is so abysmal compared to his teammates. I mean, heck, CR7 is amazing in the box better to have him there on set pieces, would be more likely to score. The PK was just unlucky, he should keep taking those. Don't get a nickname like Penaldo for nothing.
2. I'm not opposed to having CR7 play the full 90 minutes, though at the same time I'm curious how CR7 would fare as an impact sub coming on at around the 60 minute mark. He is really agile and fast for his age, I bet against tired legs it could give him the slight edge he needs to put the ball in the back of the net. Would have been good to test that in the 3rd group game.
