I really like how you can apply a lot of the points from Mitomas thesis to other sports too, for example dribbling and 1v1s in basketball also relies on controlling the opponents movements/momentum. I think you can really learn a lot from it and apply it to a bunch of different sports and thats what makes it so great
Definitely agree! For example in basketball you’d look at tendencies of the defensive player in 1v1 situations like if they have their front foot too forward so you can attack the top foot as soon as you get the ball, or if you know a player falls for feints and fakes often! His thesis was really interesting.
WOW! I really love how you looked back at your footage and analyze your decision making (and even interact with us with those quizzes xD really cool). NIce one mate. I believe that's the best way to improve, as during the match we don't have the time to think about those things but rather go by instinct, and I think the only way to improve that is by rewatching it back and training. I hope more videos like this will come! Very original and fun :)
what are the advantages/disadvantages of using a chest mount as opposed to a head mount? did it find the head mount interfered with your gameplay overall?
A chest mount doesn’t accurately show the subtleties of what your perspective is for example scanning or if you’re looking at the defenders body positioning, also I think it looks cooler from the head position lol
One thing that i've also struggled with dribbling is despite being left footed i find it really difficult to cut inside from the right, my theory on this is because most people are predominately right footed so i'm dribbling at there right foot, despite this if i go to the byline instead i always seem to beat the man but then have to shoot/cross with my weaker foot, is there any truth in my theory or am i just overthinking
I think your theory makes sense, if you analyse the defenders from now on it’s likely they’ll have some angle bias towards their right foot. I also feel I defend lefties a bit better than right footers because of that. I have another theory that left footers are extremely one footed which means there are less things to consider when defending one, do you find your weak foot is weaker than most right footers? I think it’s because most coaching occurs with right footers being the targets
@TalesOfTam I had a bit of a strange learning process when I was younger, despite being left footed I always naturally shot/dribbled with my left but was always more comfortable side foot passing with my right 😂, I stopped playing for years so when I was older and realised this I've always tried make myself as ambidextrous as possible, which sometimes I think ends up being more of a hinder because I'm over thinking which foot to use in different situations
He’s still an elite winger, I think what’s so unique about him compared to the other two is his skill is borne more from meticulous practice rather than being physically blessed

i'm looking at this for hockey
"im not a professional footballer".
ends up playing better than most of us in the comments.
love it. keep it up dude.
Appreciate it aha!
Really enjoyable video, outlined the thesis and your findings well.
Thank you, really appreciate that!
Interesting take. I'm still so impressed that Brighton keep on finding players like Mitoma. It's a never ending stream of talent.
Yup, incredible scouting and ability to sell on players and replace with better
true. but not always. undaf and Pedro weren't good. Undaf is now on loan. but Pedro was waste of money.
Fascinating

How haven't I seen this yet, good video bro
Thanks Van Dijk, teach me how to defend pls 👊🏽
Mitoma often chooses to assist his teamates even if he could shoot. He is now surrounded by 2 o 3 defenders, but it makes spaces for teamates.
This video was mad chill and informative... Earned my sub fr
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Great video!
Nice video man, the Reverse step over edit was sick. Keep it up man
Appreciate that brother 🙌🏽
Great video bro! Keep up the good work!! 🎉
I really enjoyed this.
Cool.
caught in the act!!! love it!
Appreciate it!
Mitoma is a baller
Damn right he is 😤
🔥 vid
If I had something shouting "please give me an assist" when I got the ball I'd lose my mind
😂
Nice video
Thank you!!
i should get a gopro. this looks like a lot of fun though hindsight is 20-20
I definitely recommend it if you travel or play sports, it’s really helpful to look back over the footage, it’s never too late!
sound interesting i will buy 1
'Bang it'....'please' .....😅
Great video.

Aint much of a football fan but this was informative
Glad you still enjoyed!
Where did you get his thesis?
Found bits of it on Twitter and Reddit!
@@TalesOfTam man I would've loved to read his thesis to improve my skills since am my ball control is bad and am not good in physical strength
I disagree that you scan. I only ever see you look at the ball unless you are in possession of it. Think of it as checking your shoulders instead.
I don’t think the GoPro accurately shows my perspective when I scanned as I use my peripherals
Anyone have the thesis link?
Unfortunately not, the thesis is in his university and was never published. You can find extracts of it online though
@@TalesOfTam if u have some more extracts please upload it

I'm a strange one with football
I understand why you didn't add the videos of you getting smoked, video would have been over 1 hour
Can’t add videos that don’t exist 🤷🏽♂️
Still not better than Doku or Vini Jr

Bro gotta stop whining, just play lol
