- There are many skills & techniques that we could & maybe should learn. But what if you could only chose one ahead of everything else. What would it be?
In todays video we discuss the versatile skill of the Grass Cutter pass. The technique required to create such a pass requires balance, timing, accuracy and finesse. But once you unlock this skill, it becomes the building blocks for many other techniques that you might not have mastered just yet.
I hope you enjoy!!
Cheers Folks,
Tony

appreciate the quality of your videos and the techniques you share. Your insights are quite unique and valuable, as they delve into effective strategies that aren't commonly discussed.
Thank you 🙏 🧡
@@thefootballfolkwhere are your shorts from?
I've been here since basically the start of the channel, and TFF is a one of a kind channel that you will literally never find something like it again. The quality, the editing, the pacing, the information, the entertainment Tony puts in these videos are absolutely wonderful.
Not only me, but everyone who watches appreciate every little effort you put in to these videos, keep it up Tony 🙌💯
Thank you so much mate! That means a lot! 🧡
In my own independent training, I realized the grass cutter was the best technique to get consistent at to improve my game the most. I'm glad to see that you agree and that my intuition was correct. I spent days training specifically only this technique. The technique really REALLY makes you hone down your timing, accuracy, body position, body flow, follow through, etc. If you can hit a grass cutter on a bouncing, moving ball accurately and precisely, you can basically learn any other technique with ease.
I'm still learning this game, so any help would be appreciated. I'm a huge rugby fan but my daughter plays soccer. I thought juggling and first touch was important, my daughter's coach says to concentrate on them skills. She is u9s
@@truthseeker7322 for beginners its best to learn how to be comfortable and confident with the ball. Thats best done through dribbling, juggling, and practice recieving for first touch. As far as this technique goes, it would go well with you using it to kick the ball at a wall, practice recieving the ball for your first touch, and then kicking the ball at the wall again.
As a beginner you really just want to have the ball at your feet as often as possible to gain the skill, confidence, and composure.
@@dysfunctionalism27thank you brother 💯🙏Should I introduce this technique to my daughter or stay with what her coach has been telling her what to do.
@@truthseeker7322 i wouldnt start to introduce this until shes able to pass and shoot well. I'd teach it in tandem with learning how to do curved balls too.
What’s your favourite skill/technique that we should all learn?
I think trivela🥵
La croqueta
Not panicking
feint
Body feints.
before I watch your video, I'm not that famous in school, now I played football for the school. your video helps me a lot
That’s brilliant mate 👍
Thanks for the movement breakdown. I've been pivoting to this for volume passing moving back and inside to CM/CDM. It (along with effective scanning) made me a better player already especially as I get older, like really old. Yet I never had a real inkling as to the movement instead I tried channelling the greats but that only takes you so far. Thank you!
I love the way you edits your videos. They are incredibles, thanks for your dedication
Scanning/ checking your shoulders. Above everything, awareness determines how good your decision making is
your videos really help me and your one of the reasons im in an academy right now
That’s amazing mate!! So good to hear! 🧡
Thank u very much for such videos!!!
Really enjoy your content. Can you make a video regarding the mental side of the game in the future? By which I mean confidence on and off the ball, not being scared to receive the ball, etc
thats really helpfully thanks bro
This is the best football channel I have watched ✌️🤗, been lost on getting one passing technique that offers versatile and you make this video thank you for your hard work
Yes! Love the grass cutter technique Tony, but always found it a difficult one to master consistently. Thanks for another incredible tutorial
Love it Rich! Yea it can be a tricky one. But once you get it, it’s super versatile 😁
Thanks very much.
Literally yesterday I was thinking that I am still absolutely clueless on how to do the grasscutter and you making the video on it would be great to understand this.
Thanks for reading my mind, I guess. Cheers, mate!
You're so welcome mate! 🧡
The beautiful thing about football is learning new little things to improve on all the time 🙏
Very good explanation
Rn im getting it
Love the videos, ill defo be practicing this one. Could you do one around la croqueta and how to use it? Theres so many videos teachong how to do it but with a cone or a static fake partner. I can do the motions but struggle to get the timing down in a real match situation. Maybe following on from that, 1 or 2 real world skills to beat a man 1v1, too many flashy and unreal moves being shown around online. Keep it up 👍
As a CDM , learning this technique is so game changing when you use it to give Busquet filtered through balls that slice a midfield your channel is so underrated man 🙏🏽 , do you think if you speak different languages that affects your game in different ways ? As I got more fluent in Spanish with people from South America I understood football better compared to only playing with English speaking Americans
This is very good. I wish I would have learned this technique earlier in my career. I can do it now quite well and it is an amazing tool to help the ball cover meaningful distances quickly while still being easy to control by the recipient. Junior players who "get it" early can easily distinguish themselves from peers of similar levels by adding this technique to their repertoire of tools.
Really great video. Well done.
Such an underrated skill! I have become so much more comfortable playing first-time balls because this technique is so reliable
I've always loved doing this
Another banger, production quality is 👌 love the little grunts you give players in footage, too.
Thank you mate. So glad you like the grunts 🤣
Thank you!
You deserve a million subs, can't wait to see you get there!
Thank you!!! 🧡🧡🧡
keep up with the good work, yet another great video
Thank you 🧡🧡
To me, the most important skills are:
1) Ball close to the feet and stay low at all times. Learn to carry your weight.
2) Body feints.
3) First touch finesse.
4) Multitask and think fast. Use dead time to scan your surroundings and think of your next move, such as when the ball is traveling towards you.
5) Attack empty space and abuse blind spots.
I used to do the grass cutter and still do. It helped me learn how to hit the ball and shoot properly and get my foot under the ball. I also learned to hit knuckleballs, not too consistent but I learned the technique for shooting power shots and curve balls.
Same here 🔥
luv ur vids mate... could u please do a striker tips one?
You betcha. It’s on the list 👍
Damn, now this is some quality content right here!
Most helpfulvideo fro me ever . I i pass NECS( North eastern counties, Ireland)trials its cuz of u
please make a video about the best set-pieces techniques and how to dp them and when .
I would say awareness and learning to do a body feint are what I am feeling are important at this time.
Back againnn💪❤️
Can you do a video on composure and principles of every main aspects of football like you covered passing
I’ll touch on this in a few weeks 👍
Great video man keep it up
Thank you mate 🧡
As a former goalkeeper turned into defensive midfielder, this technique is one of the few things I AM doing quite consistently because I took my goalkicks this way. Most other possession-based techniques are mediocre at best, but when I get the time our forwards are starting their runs because this is something I CAN do 😂
Favourite technique, thank you for teaching 🙏🏽🔥
🧡🧡
Without a doubt I would choose to master the first touch. Crucial for every position anywhere on the pitch
Fede Valverde is all over this video. 🔥
the most importantr skil deffenitly for a striker is the first touch it helps so much if u can just lay the ball where ever
u want it to be
tbh great one touch with the grass cutter looks sooooo nice
I don’t disagree 😏😏
GLAD YOUR BACK
🙏🧡🙏🧡
I’m a real footballer before you even explain yourself I already knew what type of technique pass you are demonstrating I love this technique truly is a wonderclass style of play
I really appreciate the lesson from the video. However, I was interested in your video due to the beautiful playground and the scene behind it..
i love your videos. I learn so much from these!
I'm so glad! 🧡
Glad to see you again
🧡🧡👋
Nice vid!!! I think awareness (checking shoulders) and soccer IQ are the most important
Love it! Awareness is everything 👍
La croceta would be the skill that kinda works everytime
👌
Only in thight spaces tho if u are in a 1v 1 where u have space it cannot work like u cant get it to work us have to really close up on the defender for it to work
@@69bigzoo u dont need to do any skill when there is space between you and the defender is matchingup and back stepping. and in 1v1s pace is also a main ability to consider
Back with a banger!
Cheers matey 🧡
Nice vid mate. For me personally, i would say "recieving". Recieving is really very underrated and very great fundamental of the game.
Very true 👍
@@thefootballfolk to piggyback, the directional control with a small body feint into space. (contrôle orienté)
funny how i also realized this before watching this, has improved my game so much
I recently learned it and now this is the only thing i can do now
Great vid once again 🤝
🧡🧡
Do such videos for long ball and ping ball also❤❤
I'm getting on a bit but still playing and think I'm going to put some time into this one. There's always something new to learn in football - and then to pass onto others.
My favourite has always been the chip. A well placed ball, over the midfield or defenders for players to run onto, has created some lovely attacks and goal scoring opportunities in the past.
Love it Steve! Thanks for sharing mate 🧡
"The grass cutter technique..."
Lawnmower: "Well.. Looks like I just lost my job"
🤣🤣
Appreciate the work and thank you for helping us but can you drop a tutorial for different types of volley
how about a video on recieving the ball and developing the proper touch to do so
love the vids btw honesty the best football channel ive found
Great suggestion! It’s on the list :) 🧡
Please make a video on how to play matches with head up
Another great video Tony, good to see you found somewhere dry....
Thank you mate. Yea the field has been pretty waterlogged recently 😅
Great content as always mate! How do you decide what videos to make?
Cheers mate. It’s mostly what people ask for, but also what is the most fun 😁🧡
A video on how to treat ankle sprain would be nice. And how long should we rest before playing football
Happy 100k ❤❤❤🎉
Thank you!!!! 🧡🧡🧡 It’s crazy! 🤯
bruv is the best utuber who gives out football tutorials
Thank you mate 🧡🧡🧡
thank you for the vid man i was wonderin if u cud do a vid on how to read your opponent and dribble past them consistently
🧡🧡
Top spinners are the best IMO. Though these are super great
My fav channel❤❤
What is that swipe your standing leg does were it swipes on the floor sorta I also saw it in your knuckleball video
Anyway amazing video man👍
i remember you just had 10k, look at you now, 100k, keep up the good work man
Thank you mate 🧡🧡
What are the measurements ? And what are you using to keep it from sliding ?
I think body feints would work most of the time .
And thanks for another top quality vid
Very true 🧡🧡
What did you use to keep your passing pad from moving on the turf?
@thefootballfolk I love the content, sending love from Kazakhstan!
Do you happen to know and be able to please tell me the name of the rebounder you use?
Much love to you!! I made the rebounder :)
i think the answer to your question can vary depending on age and the level you are playing at my personal list would be age 13 or younger- dribbling/ball control because its one of the easiest and most flashy talents to showcase to get scouted and if you have that the coach is more likely to see you as workable if you dont have your other skills up to par age 13-18/pro level-passing/touch at this stage assuming you already have dribbling or you have another skill that got you scouted this is the stage where having a bad touch or horrible passing is unacceptable and in my opinion should be your top priority at this stage 18+/pro level- IQ and finishing/IQ and your specialty assuming up to this point you have had an ideal career and growth finishing would be the last thing you need to get down in order to complete yourself as a competent footballer the second part dubbed ''your specialty'' is for people who didnt follow this but is at the pro level its basically whatever skill you want to focus on the thing that makes you ''special'' eg:a defender instead of finishing could focus on 1v1 defense (this is not perfect as it is more suited to a striker but i do believe the first two are mandatory also when i say ''scouted'' it could be your local team school team or any team you have contact with and the coach decides to put you on the team protip for the last scenario of the ''anyteam contact'' make sure you have a good attitude and you need to insert yourself into training somehow whether thats by asking the coach which i dont really recommend or my preferred method of watching for a few days and interacting with the coach and team and join them in a few drills until you are able to integrate yourself into training and the coach hopefully sees potential in you a decides to put you on the team)
He's back let's goooo
🧡💪🧡💪
What model of shoes do you wear?
Really like that board you made that you can flip over
Appreciate it mate. Was fun to build 😁🧡
These are always fun
great video!
Thank you 😊🧡
Congratulations for 100k sub dear Boss❤🎉 love from 🇮🇳
Thank you 🙏 🧡🧡
Can u do one for strikers
This skill move on god every I love this is the best skill move ever ❤
For some reason whenever i shoot or try to long pass i hit with my instep and some how get outside curl
How do you generate the back spin exactly I just can’t create back spin
Could you make a video where you show how to properly do Tap-Ins sounds stupid but every time I try so score an „easy“ goal with the first touch I miscalculate it and either I only slightly hit the ball and it goes off target or I do not hit the ball at all and it slides by me…kind of frustrating as a striker
Thanks bro. Scored a hat-trick today, cheers.
Brilliant!! ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Khaby catching strays 😭😭😭😭
Excellent video as always, will practice 😋
hey i’m a average player play just for fun but i want to start getting better everyone i watched just never caught my attention but your channel is awsome keep posting bro ur the best!
I literally watched your "why I didnt upload videos" this morning and now there is a new one, good time.
But I injured myself during my last training at the club :(
That’s funny haha 😂
Sorry about the injury mate. Rest up so you can get back out there 💪
I use this technique for everything from the beginning.
i'm curious when u're talking about leg joint anatomy. I have serious problem with me knee, it's like bended hard after trying to backspin or curve the ball. It's not meniscus, i can walk perfectly good tbh. Is it my joint or what else? feels like my knee spin against 2 direction, first against ball hit, and second against body motion
i didn't knew it was that hard but i don't know how my body adjust i didn't even try to learn but i still know how to do it
Do you prefer the GX or the Future?
The legend is back with a bang ‼️ .......❤️ From 🇮🇳...........Keep up the great work ! 🔥👍
Thank you mate 🧡🧡
Body feint or stopovers
