Charlie O'Brien here, the director of Macalla Chill Áirne, happy to answer any questions you all have regarding the production! For more info on my film and music projects go to charlieobrien.net Thanks for watching and listening! Since the making of the film, our much loved and stalwart friend Séan Garvey (who plays the boatman Diarmuid on film) has passed away. Ar dheis dé go raibh an anam dílis. We were privileged to work with him and have him as a friend.
Cheers! I’m from the town (in Ireland), though living in Latin America. I think there is a Killarney in Canada too! What part of the world do you hail from?
Lovely work. A relief to hear proper Irish spoken convincingly by actors with good pronunciation. One little note to the writer of the English subtitles: "Bhí fuar agam" (2:37) does not mean "I was cold towards him". It means "it was pointless" or "a waste of time".
Very well produced, and a very interesting story about the echo. Nice cooperation together with the musicians, actors and of course astonishing photo over the Killarney landscape. Good work! Toni and Anna
