I always got GA/floor tix and I thought it was because I joined the waiting room faster than others. I was mind blown when u said it's random and that explained my first L of concert buying today when I tried buying Rage Against The Machine GA tix. Thank youuuuuuu!!!! I attend tons of concerts but tomorrow (Rage Against the Machine -- Phoenix) will be my first attempt at buying tickets the second they come out, knowing they'll likely sell out within minutes. I helped a friend find MCR tickets a week ago which introduced me to this queue process. I had so many questions going in to tomorrow. Thank you so much for filling in the blanks!! Fingers crossed!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +1

    • @laceking8214
      @laceking8214 4 года назад +1

      Thanks! I'll be doing this on my own, so we'll see. I've read through all the comments but did not see anything about this, so I would absolutely appreciate your help:
      In the app, is there any way to set my # of tickets and filter choices in advance? I only need one ticket and every time I've gone to buy tickets on TM, it automatically defaults to 2. I would also like to filter by "best seats" instead of "lowest price" too. I imagine the 10 seconds it takes to select those options could easily result in hundreds of tickets being snapped up depending on how many people are allowed to make it through the queue and buy tickets at the same time.
      ...which leads me to my next question: any idea how many people can be past the queue and buying at once?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +1

      Haha the comments...are full of BTS specific stuff, not the most helpful 😂. Let’s go through these:
      Searching for 1 ticket is easy enough if you’re using the app. Open any event and go look at the filter on the list view - you can change it from 2 to 1 very easily. Just work through it on any event right now, you’ll see how easy and quick it is
      Same idea for ‘best seats’. They don’t have a best available option anymore, but you can change the filter from ‘lowest price’ to ‘top seats’ which is supposed to replace best available. In the app, you’ll see it in the filters button and can just change it there. Just be sure to hit save.
      My understanding was it was a couple of hundred people in the ticket buying page at a time, but I don’t have any idea on the specifics of how many. If you take time filtering, just don’t pick the very first option you see in list view - scroll down a few and then try to check out with those. With that being said, 1 seat is a lot easier to search for than 2, so you definitely have a great chance of getting a ticket to the show!

    • @laceking8214
      @laceking8214 4 года назад +1

      Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately my app doesn't have a "save" button, just an "apply filters" button for the things I select. So, it looks like i wont be able to select those filters before joining the queue. Like you said, that is easy enough to do though. Thanks for your reply regardless!!! Definitely a well-deserved sub. ❤

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +1

      You can only apply filter changes for each specific event once you make your way through the queue, so it’ll always default to 2 tickets and cheapest price when the search begins. Will take a few seconds to set but should be fine 😄 good luck!

    Is it better to buy the tickets using the map or the side bar? Does it even make a difference, cause I watched a video of someone saying that it did and that it’s safer using the side bar? Trying to buy bts tickets and your video helped a lot, thank you!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +16

      If you’re buying on a computer/laptop then usually it’s a bit easier using the side bar because the map itself isn’t always up to date as people are checking out it can get slow and a little insane!
      Instead, if you use your phone, the sidebar flows below the map instead, and you can select an entire section of the map and the sidebar will filter for that section only. Makes it a bit easier to filter that way. If using a computer though, def use the side bar if you can, and even try to use a search for the section you like too if it’s available

    Nice video, sir!
    This is my first time booking tickets myself, so I’m a little nervous. I’m just wondering, is this process any different on a PC as opposed to phone? And if I were to use my phone, should I use safari or the app?
    Thank you!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  2 года назад +1

      Overall the process is the same, just minor UI differences but it’s going to work the same way. Use whichever you’re most comfortable with. Take some time to get familiar with the app, mobile browser, and PC. I would say use your pc if it’s your first time since you’ll have more real estate to see for the seating map as well. Good luck!!

    Super helpful! Thank you for the great video! Just a quick question, do you think it would considered it bot activity if I do the 2-step authentication for multiple accounts each on a different device but using the same phone number to get the code?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  2 года назад +1

      I believe it would, yes. Generally if there is common data/info being used for multiple accounts, this could link the accounts all together and Ticketmaster would either treat them all as the same account or could just say these accounts may be bot related or broker related. I wouldn’t recommend using the same phone number for 2FA

    hi! just wanted to come back here and say that i was able to get the tickets i wanted for stray kids oakland, albeit not via ticketmaster 😅 i had to go through a (trusted) reseller site since by the time i got into the buying area, most of the seats were already gone / EXTREMELY expensive because of official platinum (i see the prices going from 800-2000+ each 😭) when you open the site now, most of the seats are for reselling and i'm just super disappointed in tm for allowing that to happen :')) regardless, your vids really helped me get to know the site and also stay calm during the whole ordeal, especially as a first-time user. thank you so much for your tips! 💓 hopefully i'll get to use them properly whenever i use tm again 🤧

      Unfortunately there isn’t a perfect time to get in the queue, but rather just make sure you get in. Since it’s randomized where you get placed, you can’t time the queue entry to get a better placement. Good luck! 😄🤞🏽🎟

    This video was beyond helpful, thank you so much for all the tips and info!!!
    I have just one question that I’m hoping you have an answer to. So while I was watching the video, I saw the screen recording of someone buying Post Malone tickets, and in the “What to expect” section, it said that you could only buy 1 ticket per person (every run through the queue). So my question is, if the ticket purchase maximum for the concert I wish to attend is 6 tickets, would that mean that I could purchase all 6 tickets at once (so I would only have to run through the queue the initial time, and the “what to expect” section would have a different statement under it), or does it mean that I can only buy a maximum of 6 tickets through one account by running through the queue 5 other times in order to buy them?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  2 года назад +1

      A ticket limit simply is the maximum number of tickets you can buy at any one time. So if an event ticket limit is 6, you can buy up to 6 tickets total for that one specific event. Now during your transaction when you get through the queue, you’re also limited to 1 ‘purchase’ per time through the queue, meaning if you wanted 6 tickets, you would want to buy 6 tickets at once when you got through the queue. If you only bought 4 and wanted 6, you would have to then go back to the end of the queue and wait again to purchase another 2 tickets. Recommendation is to buy all 6 the first time you get through the queue to not run into the worry of getting not enough seats 😁

    Thank u so much for your videos you have answered more of my questions than ticketmaster itself!!❤️❤️ I have one more question though! Would it be considered bot activity if I’m logged into different devices, for different concert dates but still under the same account? Ticketmaster has said that it’s allowed to have multiple tabs open for different dates and still be allowed to purchase tickets just fine but I’m not sure if those tabs are on different devices if it would still be considered ok? Say I wanted to buy a ticket for day 1 of the concert on my phone and day 2 on my laptop, would that be viewed as bot activity in your opinion?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      You’re very welcome!
      For BTS specifically, I would avoid using multiple devices with the same account. Instead, I would just use your computer and have multiple tabs. Ticketmaster has already approved this method so it would be amiss to try and use the same account on multiple devices. Hope that helps!

    This might be a dumb question, but once your little guy gets to the #1 position and gets to entire the site, do you still have to rush at that point? Like, should I take my time picking seats or should I still be going as fast as possible and basically click the first seat that pops up. Or once i’m on the site, i’m good to go and I don’t have to rush anymore?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  2 года назад +1

      I’d say it depends on how long it took you to get through the queue. If you go through very fast, you’ll have a bit of time, but if you see any seats in a good section they’ll still disappear quick so you’d want to act fast. However, if there’s tons of tickets then you can take your time. If you get through the queue very slowly then you may want to speed up a bit once past the wait because your options could be limited. It really all depends on how fast tickets are disappearing

    Hello👋🏽 thank you so much for these helpful videos😊🙏🏽 I’m sorry if you keep getting asked this question but I just want some clarification about WiFi/network😅 If I use public WiFi and I’m the only one buying tickets at the time of sale, would I still run into problems?? Or does this only apply if someone else is also trying to buy tickets under that same WiFi?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      Hello👋🏽👋🏽
      The issue with public WiFi is that people have used that same network quite a bit so Ticketmaster has possibly identified it as a location that could be used by brokers since there’s likely many ticket requests coming in from there over time.
      When using someone else’s WiFi, it’s normally just one or two people buying tickets over and over again, and Ticketmaster’s algorithm (I believe) would be able to identify if the same user(s) are the ones attempting to buy from that location. If it knows you always buy from one spot, it’s less likely for it to think of your purchasing as bot or broker activity.
      If you’re the only one on public WiFi buying tickets, I think it’s still tough because you don’t know what other ticket buying activity has happened on that network in the past. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it, but I would imagine the potential for an amazing queue placement would be less than if you just used a friends’ WiFi at their place

      You can now have two or more tabs open, just make sure they are different shows or else it’ll kick you out of your original queue. In the past it wasn’t something that worked well, but Ticketmaster has since updated their queues

      With the way Ticketmaster has created their queue system now, you will need to go back to the end of the queue before you can make a second purchase. So ideally if you can select 4 seats at the beginning I would recommend trying that instead of having to go back in line.

    Hi! First of all,thank you for your very helpful video. I have a question, if I go on the ticketmaster site 1 hour before sale,and click on the event I want tickets for, should I refresh when the "join queue" button is not showing up or will ticketmaster put me into the queue automatically? Thanks for your help :)

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      I’m glad I could be helpful! If you join the ticket event page early, it SHOULD automatically ask you to join the waiting room about 15-30 mins before, but if you don’t see anything to click by then, just refresh the page around 15 mins before. You’ll see an option to log on and formally enter the waiting room. You need to actually be in the waiting room or else you won’t be able to get in the queue to get tickets ☺️

    hello! Your videos are really helpful and straightforward! I kind of have a question. Can you have multiple devices with the same account on TM with a different wifi or try to have multiple accounts? Let’s say you have one device or a computer connected to the Wifi to get tickets and the other device would have cellular data but with a different account. Would that be okay? I’m just trying to elaborate on stuff since i’ve heard about how TM changed their policies and other things. Thank you!,

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад

      It would always be better to have a different account if you’re going to try to get tickets using multiple connections. One, the same account cannot be in the queue for the same event twice regardless. Two, if the same account is logged into two different connections, it’s like telling Ticketmaster you’re in two locations at the same time. Doesn’t really make much sense and that could lead to potential issues down the road. Use separate everything if you try to buy tickets from multiple accounts at the same time.

    hi!! i have a couple questions i hope you don’t mind answering ...
    1. once you’ve joined the waiting room, should you refresh at any time? or should you just stay still and wait for the countdown for sales to open?
    2. is your place in the queue basically just determined by luck? is there anything you can do to improve your chances of getting into the front of the queue?
    3. is there any way to choose to not log in when you try and enter the wait room? or does ticketmaster decide for you whether you have to log in or not?
    4. are there any tell tale ‘signs’ that determine you’re in the 4th (rare) type of wait room?
    i know this is a lot, so i’m really thankful if you have the chance to answer some of these questions . thank you so much for the informative video!!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +13

      1. Never refresh. It won’t change anything for the better, can only make things worse.
      2. For the most part it’s all luck based. There are rumours if you have an older Ticketmaster account that you may get a better placement but I can’t verify that. What you see is what you get pretty much.
      3. Nope! Ticketmaster will decide this well in advance and they are moving away from waiting rooms without having to log in anymore. It’s likely you’ll need to log in first, especially for popular tours like BTS. All Verified Fan presales require you to log in as well.
      4. You’ll only know if you’re in this kind of waiting room about 5 minutes before an event goes on sale because it won’t prompt you to log on at all. Unfortunately this situation is almost never coming up anymore

    • @saythenameseventeen7858
      @saythenameseventeen7858 4 года назад +4

      thumbsuprun thank you so much!! i’m sure you’re really busy answering comments since it’s ticketing season for bts, so i really appreciate it.
      one last question: i’ve heard that it speeds up the process when you pre-enter your credit card/billing information into your account. will ticketmaster consider it bot-like behaviour if you preenter the same billing info onto two different accounts (with different phone numbers attached)?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      It won’t consider it bot like activity, but Ticketmaster may link the two accounts together. Basically meaning that if for example both accounts received a verified fan code, that it’s possible that you may only be able to finalize a purchase with one account because it’ll think you’ve hit the ticket limit already. The amount of time it saves you by pre-entering your billing info is not a lot...maybe 1-2 minutes worth? If it gives you peace of mind having it in already, I would recommend going ahead, even if it’s the same on both accounts.

It just gives the date & time of when the presale will take begin. Also, with presale, can you buy tickets as soon as presale starts are will you still need to wait for tickets to go on sale with general pop. & just use the code? Please help!!!! Lol

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  3 года назад +1

      Ticketmaster website itself won’t always have the direct links for Verified Fan presales - you’ll need to find them on the artist website or fan pages usually.
      Once a presale begins, just be in line before it starts and you’ll randomly be placed into the line. Once you get through you can go ahead and buy away! 😁
      If you don’t get presale codes or they sell out before you get a chance, then yes, will need to get in line for the general sale and try again. Good luck!!!

  • @Star-Bright

    If there is a presale code for multiple dates/locations all launching at the same time, is it okay to have one tab per individual show in the waiting room but for many shows at the same time? I plan to be logged in & use one browser.

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      Ticketmaster has said that you can do so but you must make sure to not open tabs for the same specific date.
      Also I would say don’t go overboard with this either and try to keep your tabs to no more than 2. If you’re using a phone to buy your tickets, be extra careful as your tabs may reset.

    • @thumbsuprun

      For the same event, you can only log in once or else you’ll run into errors, even if there is no phone verification. The only time you could potentially have more than one account looking for the same event is if there is no log-in. Once you add tickets to your cart though, you need to make sure tickets are not being added to the same Ticketmaster account or else you’ll run into errors. Also, if the accounts have similar information entered on each of them, then you may not be able to check out properly and run into errors. Don’t go crazy is all I can say with multiple accounts if you can’t manage them all 😂😂

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  3 года назад

      It’s best to go for 2 tickets at a time max as they sell very quick. I prefer using a phone but everyone has different experiences. It really all depends on your internet speed. Public WiFi can work, though you may find it slower and if many people are using the same network it can potentially create issues too

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +1

      So the last round of Verified Fan presales did not require 2 factor authentication for Pearl Jam last week, so it’s possible they have since updated the process to remove that step (though not guaranteed). If they are unable to respond to 2FA, your best option would be to use a different phone number. Generally I would say you don’t want to mix phone numbers across accounts, but if it’s the only way to make sure you can buy tickets then you need to do it. AXS venues are a little different. Sometimes they will open the queue about 30 minutes before the event goes on sale, other times no queue at all. Check again tomorrow closer to the event on sale time and it should let you join the queue most likely

    Hi again 😅 I was wondering how to get around having multiple devices (I have 5) on the same network if I don’t have data

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад

      Multiple devices will not work for this unless they are all going into different events. It’s fine if they are all using the same WiFi network, just make sure to not use a public WiFi. Also, that many devices from the same network may potentially be an issue, so I would consider (if you can) to have some friends try from their own homes to also buy tickets.
      Again, make sure none of them are entering the same waiting room!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      A fast connection won’t have too much impact on queue placement, but it will affect the speed in which the map loads and just moving through the checkout process.
      An Internet cafe would work, though I am not a fan of using public WiFi to buy tickets. If it’s much faster than your home internet though then I’d say go for it 😄

    Hey, I read on the website that you shouldn’t refresh the page. It makes you lose your place in the queue, apparently. Do you think it’s better to refresh? As it just random, and if you’re waiting a while, would it just make things slower for you? or is it better to risk it?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      Never refresh. It can lead to potential issues with the queue ID that is assigned when you join the waiting room.
      The only time I tell someone to refresh is if you’re already in the queue and it gets to 1 (ie you’re next) and then it just hangs for more than a minute or two. If you see it loading just be patient, but if it’s been 2-3 minutes of nothing, then go ahead and refresh. Otherwise, can only make things worse

      In general yes, the main concepts apply across other waiting rooms. You will see differences in how waiting rooms look and feel (AXS, Paciolan, queue-it, tickets.com, etc) but the general concept stays true on randomized placement into queues. I’ll eventually do detailed dives into different waiting rooms though so be sure to subscribe and stay tuned 😃

    @amidebangtan 4 года назад +4

    You may have already answered this...but during the BTS fanclub presale, could I log into the same TM account on more than one device and be in a different queue concurrently on each device? I am trying to go to two shows (different dates/venues) that go on sale at the same time. Thank you! Your videos are a lifesaver!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад +2

      For the same show, no. You’ll get kicked out of the second waiting room/potentially run into errors on the main one. Best be careful!
      However, for two different shows going on at the same time...this is a bit more murky. In theory you should be fine - different show, different waiting room. I’ve yet to try to be in two at once with a VF presale only because the codes are generally tied to one specific show. In this case, I would say try it, but make sure the first waiting room you enter is the main show you want to purchase for first. Just in case there are issues trying to join a second waiting room, it’s best to be sure your main option will still work.
      If you try it out, can you let me know how it goes?

    • @amidebangtan
      @amidebangtan 4 года назад +1

      @@thumbsuprun So I should know right away if it TM doesn't allow me to do this if I can't get into a second waiting room?
      I wonder also though if this is something I could potentially test out between two shows that go on sale earlier in a different time zone. In that case, I might try and I'll let you know. What do you think? I hope this wouldn't affect my ability to queue when it's actually my time!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  4 года назад

      Yep, once you join a second waiting room, you would see an error along the lines of ‘you already have another place in the queue. Please return to your original device to complete your purchase’. Paraphrasing but something to that effect. It won’t go any further than that.
      With that being said, I don’t want to be the reason for you not getting any tickets! You could potentially test it out on an earlier time zone and it SHOULD have no effect on the later events, but I just don’t have the data to support it 😔

Or maybe u get on the website a minute before does that mean you’ll be at the end of the line? Basically, does the time u get on the website before the que opens determine where you’re in on the line?

      Great question. The answer is NO, it does not matter what time you show up to get into the queue as you will be given a random place in line once the queue begins. Most events won’t even let you get into the waiting room until 15 minutes before a show goes on sale, so don’t bother getting to the event page super early, there is no benefit

      Accessible seating will be under the same queue for Ticketmaster events, the seats will just be marked as accessible. No separate queue generally. For AXS, double check the queue options as they will sometimes offer a separate accessible tickets queue.
      You can also contact the box office directly and they may be able to give you the best options. I unfortunately have not purchased accessible seating before but I’ll be sure to look into it in the future to help you/others out!

      You won’t be kicked out of the queue! It’s just a bit easier to work on your own network because others are also likely on the same school WiFi so potential that you could get a poorer queue placement. But again, it’s all randomized and if that’s all you have to work with, then it’ll be good enough! Don’t try and overthink it, just work with what you have and it’ll hopefully work out for the best! You won’t be kicked out as long as you’re the only one logged into your own account 😄
