- BMW has a bit of a funny history with M5 Tourings, having made one for the E34, then again with the E61. On the used market these cars command a premium over their saloon variants, but initial sales must not be high enough for BMW to have produced one for the F11, despite Mercedes Benz and Audi both offering Estate variants of its AMG and RS models.
Whilst this has always been a shame, it has meant that the aftermarket can step in and create what BMW didn't, with seemingly more and more M Tourings being created as time goes on. Most are in body only, usually opting to choose the highest power output standard car and tuning that rather than swapping the drivetrain, but that's not what has been done here.
CFD stepped up, and with the help of Aulitzky Tuning, created the worlds first true F11 M5, with the full running gear and drivetrain swapped in from an F10 M5, and of course the aesthetics also. They then went one step further, tuning the car to an estimated 800hp, with more to come.
With plenty of experience driving F10 M5's, Imran took the F11 M5 out for a drive, to see how it compares to what BMW M make themselves, and chat to the owner Malte about the build.

They didn't sell very well. Definitely not a car you see much on the roads

They sold about 20000 E60 M5 and only about 1030 Touring M61 M5.
Thats why they dont built Touring anymore.

@@edgar6051 u never know if a engine has more horse power than the other it do t matter that much u can see in some videos a 500 hp nissan beating a 800hp mercedes The torque matters too and the way the engine is built

It's mentioned briefly, but a 550i was the base car, as it also has 2 ECU's. And was of a high spec.

In your opinion I drive an M4 what exaust’s would you advise and the same as the M5 Tourer need it relatively quiet in comfort but in sport mode quit loud without a decat removal??
We have a lot of customers with special cars. We will start filming more like this. As for exhaust that's a difficult one. Best to call us.

Alpina B3 Touring, B5 Touring and B7 are good alternatives... 440hp (I6) in the B3 and 608hp(V8) in B5 and B7

It comes from Dortmund in Germany, but yes this was recorded from Hitchin to Luton where we are based.

I have a 2013 M5 in the states and I’m trying to figure out what would be the best tune to start with. I was thinking JB4 since currently I don’t have any mods but I plan to get catless down pipes and burger motorsport intakes. Don’t have any plans for methanol. Can I have your opinion on what tune I should get?
JB4 is good but unless you need the ability to switch maps or control meth etc, a dedicated tune would be better, and make more power.
Do the catless downpipes and a Stage 2 tune. Personally I'd leave the intakes stock if you were thinking of BMS ones.

Because most intakes are in fact worse than the stock ones in real world conditions, raising Intake air temperature and losing power. The only Intake we've tested that makes power is the Eventuri. Some decent panel filters in the stock air box is all you need, making sure they are dry not oiled as this will damage your MAFs.
We have our own tune that we can do remotely, so naturally that will be what we recommend. Email us on sales@evolveautomotive.com and one of my colleagues can assist you further with the best way to get more power from your M5.
Evolve Automotive thank you for the reply. Although I’m curious. Why do you say leave the intakes stock? Are the BMS intakes worse than the stock units? Would you suggest something else? I tried looking for a bmw tuning shop around here but nobody knows much about the f10 unfortunately sorry for all the questions. And when you say stage 2 tune from which company do you mean?
Evolve Automotive a good friend has an f80 and he’s convinced JB4 is the way to go for me as well. He loves his. Though I’m not really impressed. The numbers looks nice on their website but I don’t plan to change parts regularly nor will I do meth. My wife would kill me lol. I just want more power without compromising the reliability. This is one thing that will differentiate us Europeans to you. I personally find an A6 Avant much better looking than an A6 sedan. It looks so much bigger, muscular and powerful compared to a smaller sedan. It varies from model to model of course.

We've raced many RS6's at VMAX events. From a standstill they get away but it's not long before they're left in the dust.

If he has then no one has seen it. There are 2 F81 M3 Tourings but no other F11's that we are aware of.

Well i have a BMW F10 2015 Touring 535i and it freaking sounds amazing and it has custom fitted quad exhausts and it has 379BHP (remmaped) however it was a white colour on it but i decided to take it to a wraping shop and got it wrapped into a matt brown , it looks awesome especcially with it red leather seats

Swapped the M5 S63 engine in, and then tuned that.

But BMW is working together with Alpina and there have the cars 600HP+
M cars and Alpina's are more different than you might think. M car is a more raw performance orientated product, Alpina is more luxury focused.

Rs6 are only good on launch control and that's when drag racing and they look somewhat good. But BMW are more sharper at turning and accelerating.

Pretty much spot on! 😂 Matt is the king of the format, and due to time constraints was the one we chose for this video. Sadly we don't quite have the same roads or weather he has to really get a feel for a car in a short space of time, much less the driving or presenting skills.

In theory with Meth the car could get to 950bhp. But until it's dyno'd and vbox'd we'll say a conservative 800hp. Either way it's quicker than our one was.
