  • DPF Switch as fitted to the Hilux, Fortuner, Prado can normally only be be used when the system is unable to perform an automatic DPF regeneration, however there is a customizable option available to permit use of the DPF switch at only 28% Soot Accumulation. This can be customized by a Toyota Dealer. Please visit us to perform this on your vehicle.

    Hi. I am from India and I own an Innova Crysta (poplularly known as Kijang Innova in many other Asian Countries). The process u have shown for dpf rengeneration is exactly the same as shown in the video and we have enabled the manual regen option in our vehicle from our nearest dealer (they allowed it as our vehicle was facing continuous DPF issues). However in our vehicle the engine temp should be atleast halfway down the line to start the regen process. It simply won't happen when the engine temperature is near "C" as it is in your Prado's case.

      Hi
      Not all dealers are aware of the availability of this custom mode.
      The information in the DPF booklet clearly states this is available to be customised by a Toyota dealer.
      We have enabled this for many of our customers.

    Good day Mate. I've just bought a 2024 Toyota Hilux. I have been noticing my DPF signal come on, and it runs like you mentioned for 30mins. My only concern is that it happens every day and when it does, like your vehicle it revs up however i've noticed the fuel drop significantly. Today it went from half tank of gas to close to a quarter tank. I've taken it to my dealership and they've mentioned they can only diagnose the issue when the light comes on.
    I've told them, I understand that the DPF has to run, however my concern is the following;
    1. Why everyday does it happen?
    2. Why does it consume so much fuel doing so?
    Appreciate your help on this.
    Cheers.

    Hi, I have a 2018 Hilux SR5 Dual Cab. I've owned it for nearly 12 months now and have never seen any alerts or information about a DPF burn occuring during driving operations. Is this normal?

      Notifications of DPF regeneration in process can be enable by a dealer. It is normally turned off. Please visit a Toyota dealer to assist you with turning on this feature

      Depending on the type of driving you do such as extended periods of idling, frequent stop start in traffic etc, DPF regeneration may occur earlier

    Hi there, I just wonder if the dealer will fix this issues with standard fitment of manual switch. My dealer said that the switch is not fitted if I am not taking my 2015 prado off road. What does it mean?

    • @nunawadingtoyota8134

      Toyota Australia can review requests from owners for DPF switch installation. Vehicles being operated in continuous stop start conditions, very short trip driving and vehicles operated off road in areas of dry vegetation may benefit from a DPF switch. If your vehicle falls within that criteria or you have other reasons why a switch could be of benefit to you, you can request your dealer to approach Toyota Australia on your behalf for a DPF switch installation.
      Hope this information is helpful.

      We have experienced no problems with vehicles fitted with latest level DPF parts. Please discuss your concerns with the dealer, alternatively if you are not satisfied with their response you can contact Toyota Australia Guest Experience Centre.

    Is there any issues if I switch the vehicle mid automatic burn?

    • @nunawadingtoyota8134
      @nunawadingtoyota8134  Год назад

      No problem turning engine off while it is doing a burn. For vehicles up to 08/2020 production ( slightly earlier for Hilux) you didn't have a display to tell you when the burn was occurring unless display was turned on by the dealer.

    The DPF system as implemented by Toyota is just clunky and ineffective.
    Prior to purchasing my Fortuner, I had a Peugeot 508 for four years that also ran a DPF. In all that time I never even knew what it was or what it did. It just worked.
    While I very much like my Fortuner, the DPF will always be an issue and I just need to live with the excessive fuel consumption, poor resale value and knowledge that at some stage I will have to pay out a lot of cash to replace it.
    Even after the multiple changes and "fixes" that have been attempted, it's still common to see the 2.8s belching out white smoke.

      Hi
      Thanks for the comments.
      If your vehicle is still blowing white smoke then please see you dealer for diagnosis. We have not heard of problems with vehicles that are fitted with latest level DPF parts.

    Hi, i have a 2019 prado.
    Today i noticed that the rpms are getting high by itself (900), and the engine sounds different.
    First thing i though anout is dpf system, pushed that button and as you said, nothing happened.
    there is no message shown on the display.
    The only thing that matters to me, is it ok?😃 should i do something?
    Have to say that these two days the car has been doing a 2 km ride at morning and the same in evening.
    Thank you and sorry for my bad english😅

      Hi
      Thank you for reaching out. The video discusses the DPF display during the regeneration process, as well as the ability to use the DPF switch. Please see your Toyota dealer to enable the functionality of both systems. Once enabled you will be able to see the DPF regeneration in process notification, as well as use the DPF switch.

    • @ammarsamara3948
      @ammarsamara3948 Год назад

      So, it says that the regeneration is actually working when the rpms are on 900 without any notification? is it ok to turn off engine during the proccess??
      Until i get to the dealer is there anythjng to worry about? ( i have an appointment after 2 weeks for service)

    • @nunawadingtoyota8134
      @nunawadingtoyota8134  Год назад

      The regeneration process is automatic and driver intervention is not required. You can turn the engine off during the regeneration process and the system will automatically resume regeneration next time you drive.

      Thank you for responding, last question, is there any reason why toyota dealer is disabling this function(the switch/ notification on display). Because i saw a few owners (late2020 -2021 models) that do have it in thier viechles.

    • @nunawadingtoyota8134
      @nunawadingtoyota8134  Год назад +1

      Earlier models, including yours were never enabled from the factory. Dealers are not disabling this functionality. Later models have the display showing, from factory, however the DPF switch has to be enabled by the dealer.

    2022 hilux cleans DPF each 100km! In ECO mode each 200km when driving on highway.
    Wow is sucks...

    • @nunawadingtoyota8134

      We see that on average DPF clean occurs every 250-300km. This will of course depend on driving style

      @@nunawadingtoyota8134 We use 5 hilux trucks and each has approximately same numbers - 100-200km. Yesterday one of the trucks was drove to service to clean DPF, it failed to clean it automatically and manually using manual clean button.
      And we paid for the service!
      Never had same issues with VW, they just work!
      Toyota is doing something wrong!

      Thanks for reaching out.
      These modes are available for your 2019 diesel prado. We perform these on request for our customers. I can only suggest that you direct them to this video and show them a copy of the DPF information booklet stating that this can be performed by any Toyota Dealer.
