KoroAzu teasing Suisei, cute. Love their chemistry xD I just love the staff's laughs in the background, they made things more lively. They almost in every Vtuber, seiyuu radio show
While I'm sure every Holomem has input on their outfits (besides debut), it's still nice to see Suisei giving design suggestions, since she uniquely designed her model. Even though they denied her a black hair update because of branding issues (which I agree with) but it could just be a color shift for rare usage, and not the default hair color for an outfit)
@@blazingkite8983That's part of the issue with Suisei, she's never changed the color until now so people link her to blue. She could end up with black hair at some point but it would have to be on an outfit that isn't used for posters or other ads.
@@blazingkite8983 I think the issue might be specific to Suisei. Given that she's gaining a lot of popularity as a singer and also being used for advertisements and sponsorships. While Ru-chan was more popular as a streamer and wasn't as heavily commercialized so significant palette changes aren't so notable. Of course, there's also Sofa-chan who has her natural brown eyes in her casual outfits while having blue contacts on her idol outfits which could also suggest the potential for change for non-promotional outfits. Though, given how rare new outfits are due to Hololive promoting equality so members can't just commission a bunch of outfits, and Suisei's tendency to tie outfits into music releases it's probably not too likely that such a casual outfit will occur. Perhaps her best option for black hair would be something akin to Goomba's Reflect single, which featured Red Goomba. Having a palette shifted variant of a particular outfit, would allow for Suisei's promotional material to feature her blue hair while also allowing her to access a black hair version when streaming.
suisei low-key really wants to talk about the flowers on her hair that associates with MiComet/mikochi and then will just come up with an excuse to get away with it like here saying it's almond flower
Suisei: It's not sakura flowers, it's almond flowers to match with Pekora! Miko: Eh? Are you kidding me???? PeComet > MiComet? Pekora: Eh? Why are you saying it's almond flowers? I not need Almond greeting anymore!!!!
I wonder if anyone ever got to the nitty gritty of explaining to Pekora and other JP members that the thing we English speakers get confused by in "Do-Omo Do-Omo" is that the first "Do" is nearly silent when Pekora starts thanks to the strong emphasis she places on "Omo", and so the cadence and emphasis on the "Omo Do-" cognitively autocompletes to "A[L]mo[n]do" and the second "Omo" then autocompletes to "A[l]mo[nd]", where the parts in brackets are unsaid, but cognitively implied. So, it's not on the beat Pekora starts at when she begins saying Do-omo Do-omo, but the first beat after, making it not "Almondo Almondo" but "almondo almond". In any case, it's funny to think of Pekora both incorrectly and correctly pronouncing that word consecutively in her introduction.
Arigathanks gozaimuch for correctly and completely explaining everything that there is about it, since nobody has ever clarified it to this extent, except maybe in the fringe low-karma posts on the hololive subreddit.
I still don't understand where you hear the 'Al' part from. I get the omodo, but for that to make almond is... weird. I mean, shouldn't people autocomplete otsu and other Japanese words with an EN equivalent too if that's the case? I wonder why it only happens here, it's a mystery to me as I always heard doumo xd.
Yeah, accurate explanation, but tldr, it's do-almond do-almond (do-Omo do-Omo). I think I remember roboco actually getting this right in an apex stream, which is the first time it connect to me how it is supposed to sound like almond.
Just have to say, it shouldnt be almondo almondo coz it sound so different from duomo duomo. You can hear the almond if you say it like “do-almond do-almond”
i found out the reason it sounds like almondo because pekora bck then often said "A-" before doumo, which makes it sounds like almondo. "A- dooumo~ A- dooumoo~"
She overemphasizes the second beat of "dōmo" and pronounces it separately from the first beat, so instead of the more typical "doh-mo", it becomes "do-OH-mo". When you put the two "dōmo" together, it turns into "do-OH-mo-do-OH-mo". Due to the emphasis, It's easy to interpret there being word breaks before each "OH", resulting in hearing "do-ALmo(n)do-ALmo(nd)" using the pronunciation of "almond" that has a silent "L".
Ngl I still think this meme is awfully forced and makes zero sense unless you take her greeting to sound like "do-almondo-almond". I just don't get how it even reached her or how it stayed alive for this long.
sure it doesn't make sense, but you can hear that word from her pronunciation and even other holo talents like towa and mel couldn't understand what she was saying. For Towa it was also almond what she could hear from her greeting and not do-omo. So i find it not forced at all. In addition, it's not so inappropriate for Pekora as a rodent. And because rodents will eat Almonds, some people thought she said that. It's not that improbable.
I also think it doesn't make sense and not that funny (just my opinion) but as Susei said, it's probably mostly because of non-japanese speaker who doesn't get the word and listen more phonetically, which could make the almond incident x) As for Towa and Mel, I suspect them to be influenced by the meme before really paying attention to Pekora greeting 😏 But hey, if Pekora never put a serious "Stop" on it, it's alright I suppose xD
