Fun fact: Nile Rogers also produced David Bowie's song Let's Dance.
    Nile is magic.

    "Ta-na-na-na ...
    Ta-na-na-na ..."
Oh, man, I still get chills when I hear the backup singers setting the tempo in the opening.
I'm so happy to see that history has properly defined Duran Duran -- not just as five good-looking guys but as a quintet of criminally underrated musicians. Those guys could play.
Whenever I start to feel old, all I have to do is listen to Duran Duran. The feeling may not last that long, but for a few minutes, I'm young again.
    Thanks, lads.

Love Nile Rodgers! I could listen to his stories all day long.
When he spoke about his experience with Bowie, it was like being there with them☺️
His name was seriously on the back of every cool remix import album, that was awesome. Being like 12 and only having heard and seen his name everywhere...I had presumed he was some English guy 😂.
I didn’t get to actually see him til several years later.
I had no idea I had been listening to him in Chic all the years prior either!
I saw his name literally everywhere- producing/Mixing/composer/arranger...and I swore it was spelled without the D! 😂

I was 12 when that song came out; and I used to dance around the house every time I played it. I STILL dance around the house every time I play it, and now I'm 42, lol. Awesome how some things never change, no matter how much time has passed. I LOVE this band!!

My god, I remember listing to the Reflex and seven and the ragged tiger in 1984 and being 14 at the time! I am now 49 and it still gives me that same feeling I got back in 1984! Duran Duran, you guys are still the best!!! Thank you for everything!!! I still enjoy listening to your music 30 years later!!!!

That song became number #1 all around the world Even where I live Ecuador, Southamerica 😁😍😍 It was the #1 of that year. And also Ordinary World was #1 on 1993 in Ecuador too.

I just love hearing it in their own words even all these years later. Seriously, Nile was such a absolute god in the recording studio. The man was before his time. Like all members off Duran Duran, I bet even when he was trying to sleep, his mind was ticking over with ideas. What a magic mix they all made. Bring Russell Mulcahy into the the mix and you’ve got the perfect video for the perfect song.

30 years ? No that cannot be right? Oh wait....I'm 43 now, not 13, boohoo! I guess that is right! Where did the time go? Like the blink of an eye. To this day, nothing moves me like the music Duran made. They were everything that mattered in my world as a young, shy 13 year old girl. Thanks for the memories guys! Love you forever:)

same here with me. I am 43 and it seem like yesterday I went to my local record store and bougt 7 and the ragged tiger. But now that I am all grown up and 43 also, I think their music is still as good today as back then , even better than what I am hearing now.

Janice Element I remember that. When Casey Casum announced that Duran Duran's The Reflex went number one. I was in the park with my radio and when that song came on, my blood started pumping, a big smile came on my face and the song sounded sooo great on the radio in the park. That year was phenomenal for me. Duran's music always put me in a good mood. They are my favorite Band of all time and I will never turn my back on their music!!!

Back in the day when videos were in heavy rotation on T.V., I would watch them non stop and when The Reflex came on, I dropped everything that I was doing to watch this video, and my brothers and sister would understand. No one would bother me at that time. And when the video went off, I would resume doing what I was doing, and for a couple of hours I could be playing outside until I think that they're gonna play it again, then I'll go in the house and watch videos until it came back on. Good times.
