Soundcore wiped the floor with these two especially price wise. The soundcore responds best to equalizer adjustments over the others. I have all three and I’m impressed most with the Boom2.
I purchased a Boom2 & let me spare anyone wasting their money on this speaker for outdoor use. It severely lacks midrange detail & separation when used outdoors. If you’re dead set on buying this speaker for outdoor use, the best advice that I can give is to buy another speaker that’s similarly priced with a more traditional 2 woofer 2 tweeter setup or at the very least, buy another Boom2 to pair with your other one to get TWS pairing. It performs really well indoors, so much that U didn’t feel the need to raise the volume any higher than 50-60 percent. I couldn’t turn it up loud enough outdoors to get the mids to shine through. I hope this helps anyone considering this speaker. Indoor use it’s a go. For outdoor use, you might want to consider other options.😊
Excellent vid good sir! Im sold on adding boom 2 to the growing collection, plus its bigger then i was originally thinking! Definitely going with green for this!
It’s probably not the best on the market but I’ve been a Soundcore customer for quite a while. I got the Boom 2 as an upgrade from the Flare2 because it wasn’t keeping up with my iPhone. I love it and I can actually hear it over the wind as I’m riding my e-bike. It was a good choice.
Wow. Soundcore mopped the floor with the other two! What the heck?? $130 for the Soundcore Boom2 and that game is over for the JBL and Sony, what the hell??
I've been looking to upgrade my Bluetooth speaker as the one i have is the SRS-XB22 speaker. I see your reviews on the JBL Charge 5, Flip 6 and the Motion Boom 2 as well as some Sony speakers XE200 & 300, XG300. I need one for outdoor use, BBQ's on the go and I'm looking for a midsize or smaller speaker. I do hear the sound difference between the Sony and the JBL as the Sony has a more warmer more bass approach as where as JBL has the more louder approach. What speaker do you recommend for outings i.e. BBQ's, beaches, lakes? How does the Boom 2 hold up against the flip 6?
i think the aren´t, because the guy never realyy choose one speaker... jbl xtreme 3 is an awfull speaker, overpriced, old and sounds like a kitchen radio...so he never make that clear... choose one and thats it!
When using indoors, I’ll take the EXTREME 3 6 days a week, 10 times on Sunday. Only while it’s plugged in getting full power on my 14 ProMax with Apple Music. Pure Bliss. For outdoor use, I’ll definitely take the Boom2 for overall clarity, volume, & portability. Oh yeah, & the best part; the price of $129.99 doesn’t hurt either.
First of all, thanks for this speaker comparison video, I am totally blown away with this brand that Im not familiar with, Souncore by Anker, although JBL and Sony had a reputation, Anker paves the path in set and forget, the sound is very in your face. I dont mind bass and mids.
mids on boom 2 are weak?! all i heard from it was the mids! that was the main diff b/w the boom2 and the others luckily one can always set up the equalizers
Mids are terrible especially for metal, guitar sound gets buried under everything else, and it cannot be fixed with EQ. The combo of woofer and tweeters doesn't mix well, and the bass is slappy rather than consistent. Had Boom 2, returned it. Good value on paper and works for some music, but it has its issues.
Mids are not the issue on Boom 2, they’re fairly neutral. It’s the treble that is completely overdone, to a degree it actually start hurting your ears if you don’t use EQ to reduce them
@@ThibautMahringer Treble can be eq'd sufficiently, the mids can't, they're just muted and sound wrong. It's very noticeable when you do A/B comparisons with proper speakers.
@@Cuthalu They sound very much mono and closed in, but that's due to the single woofer The best you can do to try to limit that feeling is to reduce mid and upper bass. Obvisouly that doesn't change the fact mids are still mono. But the tuning of the mids on Boom 2 is still perfectly fine, there's no issues on that front. My answer was originally made for the original comment that said mids are pushed to the extreme on Boom 2, which we'd both agree, is not the case
Is it just me or do the more expensive brands tend to perform better indoors? Which I don’t really have a problem with, cause I own the charge 5 the EXTREME 3 & the BB3. I paid a reasonable amount of money on these speakers for what they offer. I’d rather spend less on an outdoor speaker anyway.
Yes, that is true. I own various top tier Bluetooth speakers and they perform better in an inclosed space as it seems that they were designed in that manner.
I got the xtreme 3 and boom 2 and it’s bass is CRAZY CRAZY but 2 tweeters and a woofer makes it sound kinda nasally and it basically has ZERO mids but detail isn’t what you buy it for you buy it for you buy it for BASS extreme to me has WAY less bass but sounds more finely tuned but it don’t sound good enough to buy it over the boom 2 boom 2 could be 180 and I would buy it it got good depthy quality bass
One important note i would like youtubers to know is that the sony bluetooth speakers sound a lot better with the Live Sound option, but still the soundcore crushed it in this one!
I wouldnt compare it to the srsXG300. Simply has way too Much tech , plus sounds great. And I gave a few others that are x series that pair with it as Well. And they pair Perfectly via music center app. I have the black one. But boom2. Is a “portable speaker “ with the volume being the opposite of the size of the speaker which is almost tiny and hard to believe it’s a 80w when you look At it. A great “light weight “ and Literally take it anywhere . With nice bass but the app is necessary jn my Opinion. To Get it correct. 3 great speakers here however I have the boom 2. I’d say it’s number 3 .
Sony can learn something from soundcore when it comes to light features on the side of the passive radiators Sony needs to make the XG300 lights much brighter and dynamic
I already watched boom 2 against Extreme 4 - guess what.. boom 2 wins (for bass, loudness and price) though JBL sounds clear and look durable, Premiuk and sturdy but the other sounds better in the comparison, very impressive for its size. if you're a bass person, I recommend the soundcoure boom 2.
Every speaker Should be played in Stock EQ then , why only the xtream3 at the flat EQ ? it also have an app , you can turn the bass up, not a balanced review 😐😐

I bought the Xtreme 3 3 weeks ago for 200€ from the official site of JBL. When i listened the boom 2, i made the return of the xtreme 3.
