@@BryanJohnson81 Another question, using the ground wire method, did your low beams come on when the ebrake was released without turning on the headlights? If so, is there a way around that without adding relays, fuses and more wiring?
I couldn’t tell you. I never tried it. I just did it that way real quick just to see if it would work. If it’s dark enough the lights should come on with the e brake released anyway.
@@BryanJohnson81 I disabled the auto headlight with a resistor. I also took out the drl shunt/resistor under the hood so the drl's don't work. Guess I might be doing it the way you have so the lights are on only when I turn the light switch on. Thanks for the response.
@@little_rob2k184 i rerouted the ground to one of the fender bolts. Wish I could send a picture, but I pulled the wire up from under the battery tray, loosened a fender bolt, stuffed the eyelet connector under the bolt and tightened it down because it happened to me twice too. No problem as of yet

Sucks ya can't do the diode trick on these trucks. Also, why not put the halogens in the low beam and the HID's in the high?? That way you're not blinding people while driving around town. Just a thought.
it does suck that you can’t do that with these trucks. I have hid’s in the high and low beams now. The low beams are projector headlights so they don’t blind oncoming traffic
@@BryanJohnson81 what year could you do that with? 03-07?? I coulda swore I did it to my 02, but just went to try and do it to a co-worker's truck and it was a no go.
Thank you, my kit just arrived, im about to go out and do this now 😎👍
What is it you don't like about just grounding the yellow wire?
I’d rather have some type of overload protection rather than taking a chance of burning up the wiring.

Sounds like that will be your best bet. If you have any other questions about anything ask away. 👍🏼
I have a red wire instead of orange is the red one suppose to connect to the orange
I’m not sure, what year is your truck?
Works great
Good deal!👍🏼
I just popped a kit in mine and it didn’t work right away, it was the ground if anyone has the same problem
What did you do exactly, I’ve moved my ground like 2 times and it won’t work

i tryed grounding out the yellow wire and it didnt work, do i have to have the headlight switch on befor it would work rather then jus dtr lights
If it’s too light outside for the headlights to come on then yes, you will need to have the switch on

well nvm the headlights came on when i cranked it but i never turned switch on
will you be able to control fog lights with high and low beams on?
The fog lights work like they should. They will still go off when high beams are turned on

Do you have a part number or contact information for distributor.

03-07 you can do the diode trick or there is a company that sells plates that you can put on the fuse panel
@@BryanJohnson81 I just wedged a plain ol diode in between the relays, but it must have been a 2003.

Go on eBay and look up 88-98 chevy high low headlight mod. It’s a similar harness that will work on his truck. Don’t forget the beer. Lol

One relay works for both sides

This is so much more complicated than necessary. Just ground the yellows on your low beams. 🙄
I would but I’d rather not lose all my lights if something overloaded
eBay part number
There is no eBay part number. The seller is rays auto
Simpler is better
Sometimes it is but I don’t want to take any chances of blowing anything out.
Waste of time and money
I don’t think so
