By far the BEST video i have seen for these generation of trucks of installation of headlights. I just bought a 2006 GMC Sierra, needing headlight work done. Thank you so much too for putting the amazon links in the description.
Thank you for the nice compliment! I think you will be happy with these headlights on your 06 GMC. I am still enjoying these headlights and really like the refreshing look it gave my truck. Thank you again! Cheers!
On the light fixture yes I did was there are 3 small screws on the back were the conector is you can screw tight or loos the screws an them tight the small screws.. if you ever need to help you on the moisture help..
Parking lights are also referred to as marker lights, they are not lights that go on while your vehicle is in park position. You definitely want to tap the parking/marking lights. Like OP said, DRL will only come on in daylight.
Third solution for the hyperflash: they make replacement relays for LED bulbs. Much easier than in-line resistor and no heat on a resistor that you might have to worry about
I tried tapping into those same wires except my headlights have a black and red. I put black to black and red to brown and my led drl still don’t come on. Any ideas? I used the same connectors you have.
My daytime running bar does not light up. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? I connected the negative to the negative and the positive with positive wires by using the T tap splicers.
Can I make the drl flash with the turn signal? If so how? I plan on doing it myself for the first time just don't want to mess anything up Great video!
I don't really like the look of LED lights. Can I use a regular halogen bulb with these headlights? I like the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra that I have in the stock headlights- I just hate the pattern of the OEM.
They are brighter but a little more fainter on the side of the road. The stock seem wider like a flood light but didn’t have the same distance as these
Thanks for the video. I have a 06 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4X4. We have Spyder lights just like yours coming in tomorrow. How are yours holding up? I think I may silicone around the housing for added insurance.

@@joelwallisadv yea possibly getting em exchange but thanks dude did exactly as you did with the quick splices followed every step truck looks clean other than that hoping new one works then I’ll upgrade all bulbs to leds or hids havnt decided yet
I just ordered these lights but the turn signal assembly is different from yours even though I clicked your link. Yours has a crystal design over the far right bulb. The ones in the link must be a newer generation or something because they are completely clear. I like yours a lot more but I don't think I have any other choice from Akkon unless I go with the clear with amber. That sucks but either way it'll look better than what I have now. Thanks for the video. Very informative
I actually kinda like them better but I think I found the version that I have in the eBay link below in case you can return them. @@joelwallisadv Unfortunately, Amazon has that item as unavailable. So I found some on EBAY with the same model number! Thanks so much Joel!!
@@camerongarcia5443 Nice! Glad to hear you were still able to locate a set!
thanks for actually showing the beam patterns on the road.. thats what people need to know.
Definitely gave the vehicle in updated look. Thanks for the review and going over the wiring part. Lots of others skip that part completely!
And the lighting improvement for driving at night is significantly better then stock! Thank you for the nice compliment and happy to have helped!
I will only be satisfied by the video if I come by and you do the install because it looked like a pro did this lol.
I would totally do it for you if we were in the same area 😊 as it was a lot easier than expected. You have a friend that is savvy?
Just ordered these for a yukon I’m trying to flip. Thank you sr for the detailed install.🙏
Nice! Hope your Yukon sells quick for you 😊
Excellent video, I bought these lights, you helped me a great deal on the wiring. Thanks
Awesome! 🙌🤘
Nicely done. Of course I was looking for plug and play or a kit that provided everything thing, but alas, I'll use your links to get the LEDs
to add to this. a relay will fix the hyper flash. its alot safer than a load resistor
Excellent thank you for the advice 😊
Curious what your thoughts are on them a few years down the road!
I had upgraded to another truck last year but they held up pretty good for the time I owned them.
@@joelwallisadv thanks for the reply man! did you have any moisture that got into the housing?
@@nebula4798 not in the spyder headlights but I did get a little bit in the drl/turn housing which was non spyder brand.

Damn those look good. Really wish they made those exact same ones for my 06 tahoe tho
Can i tap the led wires into my daytime running lights so the led strip will stay on when im in drive and not just park?
I don’t see why not. They just won’t be on at night when your drl switch to headlight mode
Parking lights are also referred to as marker lights, they are not lights that go on while your vehicle is in park position. You definitely want to tap the parking/marking lights. Like OP said, DRL will only come on in daylight.
I did the exactly what you did wiring the cable but my tube lights didn’t turn on is there something I could have done wrong?
You might have a defective unit. I’d reach out to Spyder about warranting it.
Third solution for the hyperflash: they make replacement relays for LED bulbs. Much easier than in-line resistor and no heat on a resistor that you might have to worry about
What would be the difference with getting the high/low beams you got instead of the others that don’t have that extra wire and box?
@@alexlopez-dk4jq the extra wire is for the led strip that glows inside the headlight housing

How do you adjust the high beams
Did the headlights get any moisture inside with the wobbling high beam bulb, really want to know because I’m think of buying those.

How are your headlights keeping up 2 years later?
@@PhillipCruz-li4up I ended up getting a new truck about a year ago but up until then they have been rock solid.
Would it be safe to splice into that turn signal twice because I have a cateye with 2 bars
I am not sure on that
What’s the bulb sizes for the turn signal, side marker and drl?
I have all the bulb sizes in the description 🙌
Were these brighter than the stock lights? They look awesome but seem fainter?
They are brighter but a little more fainter on the side of the road. The stock seem wider like a flood light but didn’t have the same distance as these
How are those HB4 and HB3 led kits holding up? I remember the early after market hid's would burn up in a matter of months or weeks sometimes.
I just sold the truck recently but they worked really well
Where you get the splice from that’s the only thing I need
I got them from Ace hardware but any hardware store should have them. The link to them is in this videos description btw
The move that I did was from bottom light fixtures to the top 🔝 light fixtures.. lol more faster an easier an safe

New headlights looks on the GMC. I see you have dual batteries what batteries are you running ?
🙌 batteries are Optima
Shoulda tapped into the DRL, it looks good with those just on in a gloomy day
And then they won't work at night. Can't win
How much did these cost? I see the "spyder" ones for like 450, or the "akkon" ones that look the exact same for half the price
$270 off Amazon. Link in the description :)

And could you put a video on how to use it because I’m new to all this car stuff and trying to get to understand it without messing up the lights

Where can I find a front bumper like yours it looks nice😮💨
It’s stock
You can get an LED fuse so you dont need the resistors
Can the led tubes be wired to the DRL lights instead so there on all the time?
I have seen people do it so I’m sure you could but then at night time the tube lights won’t be on just as a fyi
Instead of resistors, put an led compatible flasher relay.
Use sylvania they have the resistors built in
