I remember being really young (like 12) and tell one of my trans friends “hey I think I’m gender fluid” (I am non binary now) and my friend just looked at me and gave me the biggest hug and at that moment I knew I had chosen the right family 🥰

Thank you for saying "being non-binary is no big thing" because I feel like some folks in my circle are kinda making it a big thing. I keep telling them, "I'm the same person I always have been, the color inside is just on the outside now." And thank you for making these videos. They have gotten me through my THIRD coming out!

Could you maybe do a video that’s basically the breakdown of all things nonbinary and different situations for nonbinary people (such as dysphoria, top surgery, etc.) for parents? It might be easier for me, and other viewers, to show their parents a breakdown of being nonbinary so that they might understand it better. If you can’t do that, I understand, but thank you for being a really informative RUclipsr and I love being a subscriber!!

I feel non-binary and have experimented with they/them pronouns around my friends. I am 17 going on 18 in January and I talked to one of my older sisters about it and she's behind me and supports me 100% but I'm just scared of the rest of my family's responses... my family is not supportive of me being pansexual saying its not a thing and that I'm bi and when I said I had a non-binary friend my family tells me that's not a thing... I just don't know what to do.. I don't even know if I want to come out at all anymore because my family keeps getting worse with what they say about the lgbtq+ family...

Safety is first!! If you are 17, i'd say wait until you are safely out of the house & financially independent. Then you can distance however much is needed for safety (mental, physical, and emotional wellness are impt). Good luck!

My coming out journey has been very long. I think there’s always been that feeling that I wasn’t “normal” when it came to my gender/sexuality. I really started questioning my identity when I was introduced to the LGBTQ+ community in 6th grade (11 years old). I gravitated towards people who were a part of the community as. As they came out and explained to me more and more what their identities meant, I started to realize I was like them. I’ve always felt like I wasn’t a girl and that I liked other girls the way I liked boys. I never had words for it though. Once I was introduced to the community, it was much easier for me to accept myself and realize that I wasn’t broken or unlovable because of my identity. I came out as bisexual at first and later realized that didn’t fit me. I’m 16 now and have since come out as demi-pan and trans-masc non-binary. My gender identity was harder for me to discover. I always knew I didn’t care about the gender of those I was attracted to. The hard part for me was finding a gender identity that fit me. I picked non-binary because it feels the most inclusive for how I feel as a person. I started using the name Alex and they/them pronouns a couple years ago. I recently discovered I also use he/him pronouns. I learned I could identify more with one side of the spectrum more than another and that I didn’t owe anyone androgyny. I also learned that having more than one set of pronouns was completely valid and that neopronouns existed as well. I’ve learned a lot about my identity and about the LGBTQ+ community in the past five years. I’m lucky to have found my identity so young. Coming out is never easy, but it felt so good to come out and finally be able to be myself out loud. (Sorry this was so long! Thanks for reading and have a great day!)

So basically, I think I'm non-binary, I don't know what pronouns to use but biologically I'm a female and feel so uncomfortable when people use she/her. I love it when people mistake me for he/him although that doesn't happen very often anymore. I came out to my best friend and she supported me and asked me whether to use they/them pronouns but I didn't want to like inconvenience her? Or really let anyone else know? So I said not to? I came out to another one of my friends who's LGBTQIA+ already and she uses they/them pronouns for me now. I just feel like coming out to everyone but I'm scared and I hate being split up into different genders in school like being with all females doesn't feel right and has never really felt right? Idk. Anyway, that's all lmao

Omg I didn’t know you were 29! Cool! That just goes to show you are never too young or old to discover yourself! I hear so many trans and nonbinary stories that start out in grade school or something, and I just can't relate to any of that. I always just kinda was a sheep when it came to new things. And then a habit forms and now I'm just used to being in the girl's bathroom because it has become my learned default. Having that default is nice to have when there isn't a third option. Though I loved getting to experience gender inclusive bathrooms at my second ever pride festival! It really opened my eyes!
