[FIXED] We can't sign into your account. Windows 10 Temporary Profile Issue

- In this video I show how to resolve the Windows 10 temporary profile issue. This is fixed by modifying a few keys in the registry.
-On keyboard hold down the 'windows' key and press the 'r' key.
-In the run prompt type regedit and hit enter.
-In the registry editor, browse to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
-Expand the ProfileList key and find the key that has .bak added to it.
-Delete the key that has the same string of characters, but DOES NOT have .bak next to it.
-Rename the key with .bak. Just delete the '.bak' part and hit enter.
-Close registry editor and reboot. You should be able to get back in to your profile now.

Always backup your precious data on cloud or external reliable storage devices ; )
Unfortunately it didn’t work, have been doing that three times and it keep showing the same problem,and each time a new temp profile is created in the profile list, isn’t there any other solution?
It didn’t work for me too. Maybe a lot has changed since 6yrs ago. We need a revised version of this video
@@fastLinkNgthe curropted profile is the .bak so click on that profile and click on profileimagepath and copy the user text and go to the temporary profile without the .bak and rename the profileimagepath to what you copied earlier.And delete the .bak profile and restart your pc..it should solve the problem :)

It also doesn't work for me. After swapping out the old SSD from my laptop with a new one, I installed Windows 11 on the fresh SSD. Subsequently, I connected the old SSD, which had Windows 10 installed, as an external drive to my Windows 11 laptop and deleted some files from its desktop. Later, when I reinstalled the Windows 10 SSD into my laptop and attempted to boot it up, I found myself logged into a temporary profile

I was so happy after reading the comment, but after following this process. It did. Ot work for me. It still logged me in the same Temporary profile. Even after I deleted and renamed the files. My issue is still not resolved.

It didn't work for me either. I checked another video and the step they added was to make sure the data value of State is 0, mine had been set at 8000 so when I changed that and restarted all was well

Followed these steps verbatim twice and it doesn't work, the .bak and temp registries get added back after signing in again. Seeing all the positive responses, I figured this was the final frontier, but I guess somehow, something in my computer is messing up. This is the first time that Windows 10 is truly pissing me off :/

@@buensalidaaraminau.4798 yes! That’s what I did accidentally did! For me I had to do a system restore too because my taskbar disappeared as well. I did this and everything including my files and apps came back!

@@teakiddid7401 Yes it worked, for me. I was getting the "can't sign-in right now, Microsoft knows about the issue and will get back to you" message. And a error code of 3,15,1067. My PC looked and acted like it reset back to day 1. All pics, documents, saved passwords, settings were all gone. I spent a couple of hours watching videos that either didn't work or the ones that I couldn't understand. I was beyond frustrated when I found this video. I was like "WTH, I've wasted all this time what's 2 more minutes?!? I followed the steps (I paused a couple of times to make sure I was doing everything right). And it worked, everything is back like there was never a problem to begin with.

In Saturday, July 6, 2019. YOU SAVED MY LIFE!
This did not work, BUT a few other users in a thread in the comments helped.
1) Delete “bak”, and leave the .
2) Delete the other one
3) Leaving the . Sign out
4) Go back, repeat, delete the other one and delete the . from the “right” one
5) Sign out and viola!!

I know this video was made a few years back, however I've ran into this situation on WIndows 11. I followed the steps until I got to the profilelist and noticed that I don't have any folder that has "bak" at the end. Any suggestions?

This actually worked when I didn't expect it to! Thank you sincerely for saving over 500GB of files! If this doesn't work, you likely either have a more severe issue and you should find a technology place to diagnose your PC, or you didn't properly follow these steps. Be extremely careful when doing this, because if you accidently delete your user in RegEdit (shown as a .bak file in the video), you will permanently lose your profile and access to your files!

Had the same problem on 11:45 PM, 12 February 2023, but after doing this, it said:
amdvr.exe - Bad Image

I've deleted the temp-profile and renamed the original .bak-folder.

@@ardon7340 Actually, I forgot to edit this comment, it worked once then back to same. I had to delete that account make a new one and then make it local admin. I did a mistake, don't delete before you have transferred your stuff from C,. U will lost most of them, so transfer then make new account local admin.

@@ragexmafia3572 I am not exactly sure, I think some of my files in C were retained while others deleted. I think data which is saved in your account folder like files in Video picture music etc are deleted.
Just to he sure backup the photos videos etc on D the. Change account.
And yes it did work, nust need a new account.

Yeah I try keep videos as short as possible. People stretch videos out to like 12 minutes for no reason, particularly in tech videos. I feel like that is disrespectful to the viewer's time. If someone is trying to solve a computer problem, they are probably in a hurry. It's good to get them the information as clear and fast as possible.
