Seen loads of your videos so now decided to sub ya. From UK here and got a used ownboard w1 and loving it. My first ever elec board. I used to skateboard when I was 15 or 16 years old and now after not standing on one for over 40 years I'm enjoying zooming about on an electric one. So in nearly 60 and just getting used to these. Had top speed of 25 and stood on a piece of wood is well enough for me. Range 10 miles that could be better. Been told I can double up batteries or upgrade them so maybe my next step. Thanks for your videos. I've been out using a cheap action camera and a selfie stick but can't get my board in shot as my camera hasn't got enough wide angle or I need a bigger stick. Just got a Wowgo 2s ER battery(8.5mAh) with replaceable urethane hubs, a set of extra urethane, an extra controller, and full safety gear (Helmet and all pads including a wrist guard with the plastic thingy to scrape the ground) all for just $320. Blessed to be a newcomer to the E-Skate community :D
I rode my ownboard w1 with a c1 deck around 10 to 20 miles every day for around 6 months. Around the end of its lifespan, I noticed that the board was having trouble getting over 20mph. One day I took it out and it wouldn't go up my driveway, and it was making a horrible noise. One of the wheels was not moving instead it was making the horrible noise. I ended up unplugging the connection to the wheel and replugging it back in, it seemed to begin to work. I got on it and tried to drive it started out normal then I heard a loud noise then I saw smoke. I then checked a saw that it was smoking out of the connection from the esc to the motor. I have since bought a meepo nls pro for better quality and can't wait for it to arrive. Im not upset with ownboard because I put it through hell, but buyer beware if you know you are going to ride a lot and hard make sure you save up and buy something with a little more quality.
If it's similar to Wowgo.. that "gnarly grip" is less grippy than regular grip tape. The coarser grit has less contact points to your shoe reducing the mechanical friction available to keep you in place.
Finally ! Been waiting for ur review for the ownboard w2 ! Cant decide to choose this or the wowgo 3 but aft watching ur video definitely def love this more! But jus hope they can upgrade the remote to one with the display screen and better grip like others..

Unfortunately, these things happen out of your control and can make an owner cautious and a tad bitter when thousands of dollar of product are not accounted for or damaged. Strictly a business decision due to a handful of bad outcomes that ruin it for the rest of us.

For some reason I never squatted while riding on my board (this board Ownboard w2) and I did it for the first time and I can’t not do it now. I just accelerate then squat and just zoom past people it’s so much fun. Also this is my first Board and I got it a month ago, and I just reached my top speed today. I only weigh 100 lbs so instead of 25 mph I got to 27 mph. That means that with the larger wheels I should reach 30. But I only held the speed for a second before I coasted it’s so scary

Yayyyy at long last. I was waiting until you could get your hands on the OB W2. I was considering getting this board but wanted to see how it rides. So many good boards nowadays. But just TODAY, noticed that my battery case is coming loose. Have to check that out. And one of the motor mounts was a little crooked after a few rides. But they gave me a full new truck (even with pulleys and bearings). Waiting for my kegel pulleys I've ordered to change everything and put on some Zealous bearings with fresh Caugumas 😎.

Don't recommend Ownboard. Me and my friend bought these boards on July 2018. My friend broke it after 10 month. It just stopped working. Mine broke almost in a year. I had problems with a rear wheels. One wheel just stopped working sometimes. Also in a beginning brakes were really good, after 3 month they whey really bad. Once battery got to 35% and low speed performance dropped to 14miles per hour. I would recommend you to buy Evolve or Boosted or Raptor 2 (my friend got it). Don't spend your money on 1 year trash..
they undersold that board completely! i was really surprised when i got mine, i'm 100-105 kg and 6'3, i got it with the KT deck from the W1AS (wich was no problem from them to modify for free to fit the w2 setup), i changed the bearings to the cheap bones and got some other bushings, i can easily do 20-22 miles with my weight and i've topped it at 28-29 mph several times (if strava gets it right). i would really really recommend it for people getting into Esk8 and want belt. also the customer service from @ownboard_skateboard can't be matched in my opinion.. the shipping time was long, but ownboard and cathy kept me up to date when i asked nicely
Seems like an excellent entry board (looks like it's going for about $700). To get a belt driven board for that seems really good. I'll actually be interested how it stacks up against the Backfire G3 that I hear is coming soon.

Those motors are quieter than road noise from hub motors. I got about 20 miles yesterday also. Lots to like about this board!

The riptide is so much better imo simply because of the kick tail and the 1800 watts of total power w duel belt motors also. Own board is nice
