Great range for that board! The evolve uses a 10s4p but 35e cells which aren’t as good as Sanyo for sure, so probs to ownboard for doing that.

I have to ask, I've been wanting an AT board for a while. I have the wowgo 2s, what do you think about upgrading to the carbon AT for smoother riding over cracks/curbs? Do the tires make a considerable difference or is it mitigated by the stiffer deck??

unSeenima - The much bigger wheels make a big difference in how the ride feels, especially compared to hub motor wheels.
Excellent video footage - loved the review - actually love this board too but I've only just recently bought a Vestarboard SUV City plus I also have a Verreal F1 (which is superb by the way) - can't seem to get the right braking mode on the Vestarboard - keeps throwing me off which is annoying. The Verreal F1 has perfect brakes on the other hand - but yeah - this board looks and goes mighty fine from what you have shown us. Super good review! You made me order this e-board. Thx! The laws here in Finland allows you to ride a e-skate if it goes under 25km/h and if it's under 1000W. Also you have to have lights on it. Guess i have to lie to policeman if they ask, i bought lights on it tho. Cant wait to get my hands on it. I think that the e-board community will rise super fast in following years.
Why dont you do a fool review on that raldey carbon AT board. Lastly, you wouldn't ride that raldey board in the rain?

Good review, Daniel. I did end up choosing this board and took delivery last week. I agree with your assessment of the double king pin, and the stiffness of the deck. I didn't get as much range as you, but I weigh 10 kg more than you, and I live in an area with more hills. Overall though, I'm really enjoying the Carbon AT, and I'm happy I purchased it. E-Skateboards are not common where I live, and when I ride by people it really turns head.

23 miles is impressive. i live in the mountains and my evolve carbon only got about 15 miles with all-terrain wheels.
still editing it. i need to try again on smaller hils and see if it goes much further.

High risk of feet touching the wheels on Raldey. That deck is totally not designed for AT wheels and off-roading.

Overall I’d have to say the Ownboard. I like Ranger’s deck but don’t like its brakes and wheels. Ranger’s method of waterproofing also isn’t very good. Hopefully the next gen Ranger will improve all that.
You’ve mentioned evolve in a lot of your videos, when will you do a review of Evolve boards? It’s the only Aussie esk8 brand atm

Hey Daniel, nice review as always. I had a pretty bad fall last week with my boosted V2 and now looking for a all terrain and this is one of the board I was eyeing since the price and look is right for me. I personally love my boosted since it's very responsive but too bad they don't make all terrain. Can you recommend something that is similar to boosted that is all terrain?.
Similar to Boosted but all terrain hmm... Well you could put on 100mm wheels on your Boosted.
If it really is waterproof, then I think I need it. How confident are you in its ability to shed water?

If the pulleys are the same size I’m guessing they should work (need to put Ownboard’s pulleys on the Evolve), but I’m not sure. Best to check with Ownboard.
Im currently waiting to verify that Ill be getting my refund from ownboard since I ordered it in nov 2020 and its mar 2nd 2021 and still no board, no tracking update, and the last email from the company told me "not to worry that the tracking information is not updating and I can check in a few days, that email was in january. Dont give them your money guys and gals, get a wowgo and call it good.

1200 is SUPER reasonable for a board with this spec and build quality. If I could bring myself to spend this much on a production board this might be the one.
Why ownboard still doesn’t have remote with display ???
I have doubt about the rider weight. It is written in specification that the max load is 100kg (w2 has 120kg limit). I'm somewhere between the 90 and 95kg... So what is your opinion - is it strong enough for the big guys? :)
For the same price, there is a device that goes 30 mph with 40 miles in range and has a tighter turning radius, great brakes and rideable in the ride. The only downside is it takes time to learn

Akli Belkhir yup. I used to esk8 in all weather but after a motor rusted and an esc died from water, I couldn’t bear the fact my commute was determined by the rain. Pain to learn but price to performance plus better weather resistance is well wroth it
I wish I had preordered this... now it's 1399 usd and up here in Canada we're getting hosed with exchange rates. I'm planning on going to nz to buy an evolve gtr plus second standard battery, tour around and then ship it home separately.... or at least the batteries. Should I still just get an ownboard at? Hi Daniel, thanks for the quality content. I'd like to ask you about comfort on this board. I do have a boosted stealth at the moment which I like a lot except for the range. Moreover, I do live in France and sometimes roads are terrible. This is why I'm looking for an AT board and this one looks cool and not overpriced like evolve ones. However I don't know about stiff deck, is it comfortable anyway with airless tires ? More than a regular flexy longboard like the stealth ? The backfire ranger looks ok but the top speed is a bit low for me and I'm not a big fan of hub motors. Thank you in advance
The big wheels, soft tires, long deck take away a lot of vibrations you’d normally feel on e-longboards with smaller wheels. I’m not certain if more than something like a Boosted Stealth, but you’d certainly be able to go over a bigger variety of terrain. For some things you’d just ride over instead of going around.

Hey, I'm really looking forward buying the ownboard but I'm a little bit put off by the basic remote. I already have the backfire g2t - can I use the backfire's remote for the ownboard?
TheFreiSinn Maybe but it wouldn’t be ideal. The speedometer and odometer would be wrong, and the 3rd speed mode would probably become the 30-second Turbo.

Are you sure? I just sold my GTX and I still have a set of AT tires and I am thinking about getting this board because of the larger 14Ah battery. I would love it if I could install my Evolve AT tires/wheels on this board.
Great review, Daniel. In my experience electronics break after water exposure in some time. Can you confirm your board is still going strong after that rain ride? If only there was a way to make that deck flexible...

@@alexanderyegorov8695 Outrunner motors as the one on this board, are inherently waterproof, you could even stick it under water and it would still run just fine. The only issues is that the controller isn't and can fail very easily when in contact with water.
@@mintzz6905 do you mean the ESC that is hidden in carbon fiber deck in this case? Thats great, waterproof board is simply the way to go. Do you happen to know if hub motors are prone to water damage?

I have strict laws about electric skateboards. One of them is that we are only allowed to drive maximum 20 km/h. I just think that the teamgee h5 looks like a normal longboard and there for maybe i will not be pullover. But meepo looks like a electric longboard but spec wise meepo v3 is the best.
Which one would you buy if u had to decide?
Exway X1. But if you must choose between those two, then Meepo because Teamgee H5 gets wheelbite.

Hi Daniel I always checking out your eboard video and I'm deciding in between Ownboard or Raldey Carbon AT they seems to have similar specs, I saw you testing the Raldey in Mathew's video, what's the pro n cons? Speed, handling & range?
On the Raldey you’d have to constantly worry about your feet touching the wheels. The deck being relatively short for AT (36”) makes that even worse. The electronics are fine but I didn’t enjoy riding it.
@@DanielKwan love to watch your videos and thanks for your quick reply and advice, milesboard Rampage also have similar drive train, motors, battery, remote and wheels as Raldey but the deck shape on Rampage is better won't get wheel bite as easy and it's flexible unlike carbon deck also have a drop so the ride height is lower better CG
Akin CB 311 Yes that one should be much more rideable, and also made by Raldey I think. I have a feeling Raldey just has too many leftover Halo decks and needs to get rid of them so they made their Carbon AT first. They can’t possibly believe that it’s a good AT board.

Definitely prefer Ownboard’s. Raldey’s remote is smooth too and has a display but that control knob thing is kind of weird to use. Also very slippery if you’re using gloves. They said they’ll be changing the remote tho.
How is this board's ride comfort? Which board do u prefer? Backfire Ranger or this?
Comfort is all right but Ranger is more comfortable for sure. As for which one I prefer... I could go either way but I’m leaning towards this one because of the wheels and braking behavior.

@@DanielKwan A little confused. Are you saying the other boards you test have no risk of feet touching wheels?
Howard Saccoliti Well on this Ownboard for example you’d have to put your foot in a really weird place for your foot to touch the wheel. On the Raldey, the deck has no cutouts so you’d easily put your front foot too far forward and touch the giant wheel while turning. That deck isn’t made for AT wheels. I mean it’s literally the Halo deck.

The deck and bearings are in theory more water resistant than most other boards but you’d still have to watch out for rust. And the remote is not designed to be water resistant. With most boards I would not ride at all in the rain, with this one I might but I’d still try to avoid it.

Why wouldn't you ride the Backfire X2 in the rain as well? I think the dieck is a combination of water resistant materials and the ground distance is bigger. Also a much more flexible dieck that better absorbs terrain shock. Hub wheels make a more isloated motor system than the belt driven ones on the Ownward.
ranger X2 gets lots of water ingress due to flexideck.
does it slip a lot when it's wet??
It handles wet ground much better than normal longboard wheels but it does still slip, so still need to be careful.
After riding in the rain did your motors work ?

How hard is it to use as a normal skateboard after the power runs out?
It's doable but gets tiring far more quickly than on a regular skateboard.

Yes, but especially so on these all terrain boards. On boards with smaller wheels they’ll be easier to push but not as easy as regular boards.

Joe if you don’t tighten the bushings... yes. I ate shit trying to go fast and I’m lucky I was wearing my helmet.
Probably not that bad with enough practice. But so far I feel like I’m not able to adjust the trucks/bushings to my liking the way I can with RKP trucks.

If only it got better mileage per charge. It is still a decent competitor to the evolve carbon GT. But you only save 500 bucks if you buy the Ownboard carbon GT.. I dunno now if $1,399 is worth it....

The warranty and return situation is pretty terrible for an Ownboard. Looks like they aren't even involved in the manufacturing process. They just act as a distributor. 90 day warranty but no money back under any conditions. If I'm spending 1000-2000 bucks on a skateboard, I want to know that the company building it took very special care and has confidence in the longevity of their product. This does appear to be a deal but I think I'd rather spend the premium and get the customer service, warranty, plus the wheel/gear change possibilities that Evolve offers currently.

Dan the man ! why is it all the AT boards I see that use these non pneumatic style wheels like the ones on this board, they don't sell belts or wheels for their boards on their website ?, these items are the only things you would need to keep the boards up and running, how silly !
They probably forgot. If you email them they’d probably sell them.
That'ts what I thought so I did email them and they replied, that board is a great choice, we are also looking to make a bamboo board as well would you be interested in this as well, but my question was I would like to buy the AT board but only if I can buy wheels,belts and parts for it why are they not on your website ?🤤🤤Basically never answered my original question maybe somebody needs glasses as well.

By the way , do you think the bamboo version is good in rain too? or only carbon version and you mentioned in the video that their brake isn't strong. Did ownboard improvve it with bamboo version?
If you order the board with the new 120mm Cloudwheels instead of the AT wheels, then the brakes would be stronger. As for water resistance, in theory a carbon fiber unibody deck should be more water resistant than a bamboo deck with a battery enclosure underneath. But in either case, I would try to avoid riding in the rain.

It literally cost the same as an evolve GTR, it looks like a pretty good board but for the price you’d be better off going with the GTR

Evolves pricing doesn't scale to conversion rate exactly. For example it costs me £1549 for a carbon gtr and that in AUD is:2750.12 based on exchange rate.
