Dear Desiring God staff: I want to let you know how videos like this can be particularly helpful to people like me. Because I am on the Autism spectrum, this format is helpful in three ways: It does not show a person (which can be disturbing or distracting) It is highly visual, using different colors and shapes for emphasis and clarity. It is well organized including lots of specifics and details (which Aspies like me love!) Thank you so much, Pastor John, for these videos. I'm finding them very helpful to meditate on God's word and be edified.
@@mr.c2485 Gonna need more than a claim on that one. With mountains of manuscripts and textual criticism on top of that you've got a bit of ground to cover to overturn what scholars already know. We even know evidence pre-dating the Gospels from which they sourced some of their writing (example: the pre-Markan passion story). I've never seen an atheist have the guts to try to claim the Gospels were written by one guy... while being able to back it up with evidence, much less evidence enough to overturn what we already know!
@@mr.c2485 Friend, I have to ask you: are you looking for a reason not to read the bible, and to discover the amount of love God has for you? Do you think God loves you? He does love you. No matter how much "evidence" you may find against reading the bible, God loves you. This is the basis of our lives and faith that we have given to, and put in our Father! All on one principle of: He loves us. We would be insane to put our trust in an invisible *unloving* God, yet we put in our *loving* Father, who has shown us in ways that we can't even fully Express that He loves us. He loves you too, but you have to come to Him for you to fully believe it. It is by faith that you ask Him to show Himself. One step, and your life will change. I can assure you. I used to be in the same boat! May God bless you.
The bible and the sermon are Never enough. Jesus is our True Teacher! Our personal relationship with "God Within" Us. Jesus Said.."let no man be called rabbi.". In the Gospel of Thomas..he explains that the Holy Spirit is within us..we become aware at about age 7. In the Gospel of Mary..you will Recieve a vision of Christ..as she describes. In the Gospel of Judas..not all men will Recieve eternal life. I think it Woud probably be good Not to Sell Jesus as preachers and churches Do. Pharisees left some Gospels Out of the bible..for a reason!
I suppose you think you're being helpful by leaving this graffiti on all of John Piper's videos. Not sure what your 'mission' is; but all I'm hearing from you is the spirit of Pride. In these videos, I'm hearing a humble teacher, the Bible calls for some to be teachers doesn't it?

Reminds me of the saying:
There are five Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and the Christian life.
Most people only read the last one.
And this reminds me of the saying "we may be the only bible people read" kinda the same thing, but has a huge implication.

Real church is a dialogue between all members. It’s not one person who is supposedly “ called” to teach the masses.
That’s not true, according to God’s word. Too many voices cause confusion, which obviously lead to chaos.
