Not only those who crave it but those who don't share it. During this coronavirus, you hear of no Megachurches sharing their wealth by helping out the less fortunate who have lost alot. Joel Osteen, etc.
I am not in the ministry field yet, but this is definitely a temptation of mine. I am hoping to become financially independent through investments and savings before joining ministry, but it's hard not to go overboard.
" financially independent" This is to not understand God. Knowing God is rooted in great understanding that you rely on Him to even tie your shoe lace. Moment by moment day by day even your "financial security" is as fragile and thin as a piece of paper. Place your security in Jesus Christ and minister that He is the key to all things. God has promised all your needs will be met if we make our focus His kingdom, this doesn't mean financial security either my friend but it does assure you He is in control and He loves you with your best interest at heart.
@@urielmesenja1040 paul was financially independent. Not because he had to be but because he chose to be. I choose to be as well. I dont have to be, to your point. God provides.
@@themanofgodchannel4046 You really do not understand that there is no such thing as financial independence, its an illusion. God providing means keeping a christian safe from the love of money. You just admitted you are putting obtaining wealth before you will preach the gospel. You place more value in money than you do the power of scripture. You serve money before God.
1 Timothy 6:17-19 King James Version (KJV) 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. These are Pauls words.

1And you hath hee quickned who were dead in trespasses, and sinnes, 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the aire, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience, 3Among whom also we all had our conuersation in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh, and of the minde, and were by nature the children of wrath, euen as others: 4But God who is rich in mercie, for his great loue wherewith hee loued vs, 5Euen when wee were dead in sinnes, hath quickned vs together with Christ, (by grace ye are saued) 6And hath raised vs vp together, and made vs sit together in heauenly places in Christ Iesus: 7That in the ages to come, hee might shew the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindenesse towards vs, through Christ Iesus. 8For by grace are ye saued, through faith, and that not of your selues: it is the gift of God: 9Not of workes, lest any man should boast. 10For wee are his workemanship, created in Christ Iesus vnto good workes, which God hath before ordeined, that we should walke in them. 11Wherefore remember that ye being in time passed Gentiles in the flesh, who are called vncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands, 12That at that time yee were without Christ, being aliens from the common wealth of Israel, and strangers from the couenants of promise, hauing no hope, & without God in the world. 13But now in Christ Iesus, ye who sometimes were far off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14For hee is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken downe the middle wall of partition betweene vs: 15Hauing abolished in his flesh the enmitie, euen the Lawe of Commandements conteined in Ordinances, for to make in himselfe, of twaine, one newe man, so making peace. 16And that he might reconcile both vnto God in one body by the crosse, hauing slaine the enmitie thereby, 17And came, and preached peace to you, which were afarre off, and to them that were nigh. 18For through him wee both haue an accesse by one Spirit vnto the Father. 19Now therefore yee are no more strangers and forreiners; but fellow citizens with the Saints, and of the houshold of God, 20And are built vpon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Iesus Christ himselfe being the chiefe corner stone, 21In whom all the building fitly framed together, groweth vnto an holy Temple in the Lord: 22In whom you also are builded together for an habitation of God thorow the Spirit.
In the first century, there were many religious teachers who were frauds and who tricked people out of their money. If people thought that Paul might be one of them, it would have damaged his ministry. So he put a lot of effort into defending his reputation in the matter of finance, not out of pride or fear of what people thought about him, but simply so that his ministry wouldn't be damaged. One thing that really annoys me is Christian healing ministries that charge people. It's disgraceful and so different from Jesus' instruction: "Freely you have received; freely give." (Matt 10:8). I think if possible Christian ministries should not even have a link for donation on their website. In a money-grabbing world, this would send a strong signal that this ministry is not interested in making money. I realise that this won't always be possible, but if it is possible so much the better.
I prayed for discernment on this very issue, earlier this week. The holy spirit led me to my answer. GLORY TO THE KING JESUS 🙏🏾
The modern world craves attention and money so this is helpful for everyone.
God bless you Pastor John!
A subject that need so much attention in our pulpits these days ,plus how to pastor tirelessly the congregation they serve ,Thankyou
