    If you have prolapse, just know: there is hope, and there is help! There are physical things you can do to help yourself, and mental/emotional changes you can make as well. Read my free Beginner's Guide to Prolapse for at-home support: bit.ly/prolapseguide and be sure to see a pelvic floor physical therapist for an in-person evaluation and action plan.

    I've had 8 children, all singletons, all vaginally, in 9 years and have a mild grade 1-2 prolapse. I'm going to get better. If I'm strong enough to have them then I'm strong enough to get stronger everyday. Thank you Dr. Bri for all of the encouraging (and free) resources from your head and heart.

    I have only just realized that I have a prolapse. My cervix is hanging out of my vagina, I am 90% sure that my rectum has fallen inward, and my bladder & urethra have been tilted for years leading to a narrowing. (Don’t worry I am going to the doctor in a couple of days.) This isn’t negative talk, it is just what is happening. I don’t judge it really. I am disappointed that being a strong independent women, who has alway done my own lifting, and heavy work, has actually broken me, (and it is a point of fact that I am broken). I am frustrated that my life needs to change, but I just don’t think it is negative talk to say that my entire pelvic floor is collapsing. It just is what it is. This is just the latest thing that is happening with this meat suit. Just like my beautiful stretch marks that formed to support new life, and my sexy knee replacement scars that brought me relief beyond measure, or the scars on my face from a car accident when I was 16. It is all just the tapestry of the story of this life.

    Yes, words make chemicals in the brain that trigger well worn pathways (if said/thought over and over), and create a stress response which makes us sick. Also what we dwell on literally becomes bigger. The areas of our brain that we light up by thought grow and dictate our experience in life. It all starts with the brain. :) Good message!! It has been tough to learn how to truly relax, but that's something that I had to go see a PT to check (would highly recommend!). The recovery with my daughter was long, but now I'm hiking again, horseback riding again, and don't have any more pelvic floor pain. If I could go back and tell myself anything, it would be this: stop researching, give your body the time and grace it deserves (do less! - so hard for me), go get checked by a pelvic floor physio when you're at 6 weeks, but before that, put it out of your mind. It was hard for me with a 3 year old in the mix and the days feel so, so long, but it really does pass.

    I appreciate your uplifting words very much. I was diagnosed a month ago but I believe I've had this prolapse for a few months now but I do truly believe you when you say we can heal ourselves and all within our power. I saw my obgyn today and she didn't see much in the way of any prolapse. Granted this was early in the morning and after I had done some of your techniques but she is not concerned. Her disposition along with your video have really given me renewed stamina to keep going. I'm happy that it's not effecting my life as it did a month ago. Time heals. Thank you for sharing so much information! You've made this all manageable for me.

    Thank you for the advice! I just had a full hysterectomy and and I had a sneeze attack. I was so worried because I have mild grade prolapse. The first thing I did was go online after I checked myself. I can't see anything since it's mild grade but I was feeling pain down there. Thank you for the reassurance, and I'm definitely changing my attitude.

    Thank-you for this video, I do all these things all day, every day! I check constantly and feel really afraid. I feel broken and disgusted by my situation. I also feel lonely and sad and this leads to me feeling low and then rushing through my day trying to ignore how I am feeling or purely because I worry that at some point during the day it will all get too much for me.
    I have always been a very active person, I have four grown children and now rescue animals inc. dogs and horses so I have a lot of physical work that I have to do every day and if I don't do it I have no idea what I will do, my animal family rely on me.
    I will start implementing your advice which I will find difficult at first I am sure but I will persevere as I know you are right. I am also trying to make time to do some of your exercise videos each week.

    Hi Bri, thanks for this advice, I know it is right, although I too am at the "check constantly" phase. This inspires me to reduce that. I have a question on the programme please - is Lift good for rectocele too or more for cystocele and uterine prolapse? Also is it good for someone who has a rather too weak pelvic floor post-birth, instead of very tense? I know the programme is based a lot on releasing, relaxing and stretching the pelvic floor so I am not sure if that's appropriate for me who needs to tone it more (I know you have to relax before you can strengthen though!). Thank you!

    I've had crohns for years now. While most Dr's like to say constipation is a risk, so it going to the bathroom over 10 times a day. My pelvic floor strength is almost not there. I went to the er because I looked down at my vagina and there was a small ball flesh sticking out, I freaked. I guess it was mild because the Dr said they couldn't tell, but I've had to push it back in a few times now when I've noticed. When you have a lot of anus issues and now vaginal, it's so hard not to internally freak out.
    I told people that my vagina just wanted to visit the outside. 😅

    How common is the rectal prolapse during pregnancy? Does it need a surgery to be treated or it can heal on its own..??

    • @vibrantpelvichealth
      @vibrantpelvichealth  9 месяцев назад

      Rectal prolapse during pregnancy is relatively uncommon. However, pregnancy and childbirth can contribute to changes in pelvic floor muscles and tissues, potentially increasing the risk of issues like prolapse.
      Whether rectal prolapse requires surgery or can heal on its own depends on various factors, including the severity of the prolapse, the impact on daily life, and individual health considerations. Mild cases might be managed with conservative measures, such as pelvic floor exercises, dietary adjustments, and lifestyle modifications. More severe cases may require surgical intervention.
      It's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation and personalized advice based on your specific situation. They can provide guidance on appropriate treatments and help you make informed decisions about your health. ~ Vibrant Support

      You're so very welcome!!! Yes, it's so common (and so easy!) to become hyper-focused and even "fixated" on checking with mirrors again and again and again... While it's important to be aware of your condition and to do what you can to help yourself, it's much more effective to refocus your attention on looking ahead, having hope, and feeling gratitude for what's working in your life (rather than *ONLY* worrying about your prolapse). You are so much more than your pelvic floor. Thanks for hearing my message as a positive reframe! You might like my detailed prolapse guide: bit.ly/prolapseguide

Pelvic floor exercises, like those mentioned earlier, can often be beneficial for managing or improving certain types of prolapse.
