Proves a point, a lot of geek stuff is niche and not for everyone, nothing wrong with him not seeing something he’s not interested in

How is it niche geek stuff…it’s one of the most popular movies of all time…it revolutionized cinema…star wars & it’s sequel the empire strikes back are some of the most iconic movies of all time…so as a film enthusiast i think it’s worth a watch even if you’re not into “geek stuff” just for how ahead of it’s time it was…george lucas took inspiration from cowboy movies , samurai movies…tv serials…he took ideas from the monomyth & mixed that up…the movie is a reflection of the political climate…taking inspiration from the vietnam war…the rebels & the empire….the viet cong vs the united states army….so i think it’s much more than some geek stuff…it’s not just some random fiction franchise created to make toys…did it become that eventually yes it did…but it’s impact on cinema is still felt to this day star wars was a big deal…even outside of geek culture

I don’t think you HAVE to watch anything…but don’t dismiss it as just some geek stuff cause it’s much more than that

@@giovannidejoie8618 word salad, that could be said about a lot of movies outside the Scifi genre, does that mean we should watch it, all I'm saying he might not be interested because its not his cup of tea, lol, unlike you a lot of us just watch for entertainment in things we are interested in and not for social or other meanings, jus sayin bro

@@d3mist0clesgee12 like i said it’s cool to not want to watch something or not be interested in something but don’t dismiss it as just “some geek stuff” cause that shows you don’t really know anything about cinema…if you’re interested in the history of cinema…this movie is very pivotal in the changing sea of american cinema at the time there was the new hollywood movement from the 60’s & 70’s with directors like francis ford coppola , martin scorsese , ridley scott , stanley kubrick etc this movement was focused on the director being the main creative force behind movies instead of big studios it took inspiration from international cinema & there was a sense of rebel attitude directors taking back control from the big studios….movies got very violent , dark , gruesome & delt with heavy subjects that previous generations of filmmakers avoided…george lucas the director of star wars was a part of that movement but one thing he didn’t like about it was how dark it was…he wanted to make something more light-hearted that reminded him of the tv shows from his childhood after failing to get the rights for 50’s serial like many other new hollywood directors george lucas took inspiration from international cinema…japanese samurai movies…& also using the hero’s journey…a template for making adventure films…george lucas created his own special effects studio industrial light & magic (which is responsible for the special effects in jurassic park) …george lucas made a deal with the studio to take less pay in exchange for the rights to merchandise his franchise (toys etc) the movie ended up being very successful so the stufio realized the mistake they made…star wars & jaws broke records at the time they were such success that they created what we call blockbusters while lucas was the main force behind the movies he also had the help of producer gary kurtz…the studios realized the formula to create successful movies so instead of giving all the power to the director & hoping for success the studios started being more involved…the producers also took a bigger role in the creative direction of movies…which ended up killing the new hollywood movement in the 80’s

@@d3mist0clesgee12 i never said i watch for social reasons….i’m just interested in cinema as a whole…I’m interested in the history of cinema…i didn’t watch the movies because of how iconic they are i watched them for entertainment purposes plain & simple….only reason i brought up those other points was because of what you said….it had nothing to do with the guy in the video…i don’t care that this guy didn’t watch a movie he can watch what he wants….my point was about what you said…you dismissed it as just some geek stuff when it’s much more than that…it’s art

    Gratitude for sharing
My Fam always makes references to The Jedi and The Darkside yet I have not seen any Star Wars films or read the books.
I went to the movie theater and tried to watch one of the Lord of The Rings movie however I fell asleep several times. No Harry Potter films or books.
I got diagnosed with OCD and ADHD at age 36 however I had been exhibiting the behavior since I was a child.

Quest love you have a platform, and the majority of people you have on the show are celebrities. You are ridiculous. What about the black men and women who code, who are activist, who are brilliant people trying to find their way, etc. Your show, like many other shows, it's just a distraction.

This is his show, not yours. I'm quite certain the briliant black men and women you speak of are doing just fine alongside the brilliant Asians and Latinos and Eskimos etc. You've got zero dominion over what he or anyone else does, so please, get off your high horse and go find something else to be outraged about.
