I want to hear your thoughts! More videos like this one on this channel? I've been asking this a lot but I really want to be sure it's the right decision. Let me know!
Maybe something like reviews on the main channel with some commentary, and gameplay and more in detail stuff on the second (with still funny ha has here and there)
Even Uncle AL loves pizza tower. So many many many people I come and see are still loving this game and I’m so glad this game gets the amazing attention it deserves
Now we need hi-fi rush to get this level of love. Personally for me it's even better than pizza tower (could be that I have a general preference for rhythm games over platformers)
Wario Land 4 has an entire book written about it in terms of its good game design. The fact that Pizza Tower innovates and expands on that great game design with a hint of Sonic and Courage the Cowardly Dog truly heightens the game to tower over many games.
Honestly, instead of Courage, i'd likely say more "Rubber Hose Animation" but on crack :V Or: "How can we take the most unhinged form of animation traditionally, and crank it up even FURTHER"
Wario, Sonic, Earthworm Jim, Metroid, Battletoads mechanics with Rockos Modern World, Courage the Cowardly Dog , Red and Stimpy visuals. The only other thing that vaguely reminds me of this game is the Papa's Burgeria platformers
I'm going to be very honest and say, I watch just enough of this to see that the controls and gameplay were remarkably similar to Wario Land 4 and I immediately bought it. I've wanted another game like this since second grade (which for me was 2002)
I like how as 2023 started, we already got the best thing of the year being Pizza Tower and the worst thing of the year being Velma. This is cutting edge!
This is my favorite game ever. I can't believe the amount of movement options that McPig and his team gave Chef Peepee Fettuccine over the 4 years of development time this game had. Also, Gustavo and Brick. My only gripe is that their walljump kinda sucks but other than that, they're pretty fun to play as too!
I bought this game because I was wondering what the hype was all about. As soon as I reached World 2, I was hooked. The gameplay is just so fluid and it's at the perfect pace where you have little time to react, but it's stil reactable. The 5 years it took to make this game were definitely needed.
Pizza Tower is my most anticipated game of all time, I played so many of the demos and speedran them SO MUCH, perfecting the movement of Pizza Tower is so satisfying. I’m doing my first playthrough of the full game and I recently got all P ranks in the first world, I will be gradually P ranking each level as I go along as well, no matter how long it takes. This game is very much worth the 20 bucks
this is one of the few games i’ve seen that recreates the wario style, and is also able to FEEL like wario. it’s so chaotic and stylish and i can’t get over it.
I’ve been following this game since its inception and supported this on patreon way back when and can now brag to my friends that my name is in the credits and man must I say it’s one of the tinier things I’m proud of. I agree with you there Al I’d say it’s going to forever be very high if not my favorite platformer or even game too. I also had the joy to play with Chefferino Pepperino long before most others and his newer moves are just amazing and it made it so fun to relearn him. I just can’t wait to see what they do with noise as there was a build where he had a pogo stick and was an aerial movement based character and he had a level of precision and timing that I just couldn’t forget. Even if they do away with the pogo stick I hope he controls differently than Peppino while still retaining some of what made that iteration of Noise my favorite.
A fellow og! Nice to meet ya , unfortunately I didn’t support him on patron nor was I known in the community but good job helping him on patron 👍 I didn’t cause I was a poor teen💀
I had the exact same experience. I thought the game was ok overall after beating it the first time, but after going back and trying to get the P ranks, it’s become my favorite game in years.
This game seems RIGHT up your alley, I’m hyped to watch this! It’s seriously so cool to see this game blossom from some Sage Demo I watched Vinny play in 2019 into everybody’s GOTY 2023, Pizza Tower Guy and everybody else behind this mastapiece deserve all the success and more!
Can't remember the last time, that i watched a game review that was not only very informative put also hilariously presented like that. The editing, the memes and your slow descent into madness because of how good the game is. PLS DO MORE GAME REVIEWS!
Pizza Tower didn't click with me either because at first I was overhyped by the various videos OF people speedrunning this game. But the further I got in the game, the more levels opened up and I grasped the flow of the level collapses. I wasn't losing any stages beforehand, don't get me wrong, but whereas I was sweating out my d*** before to get to that exit door, now I'm comfortably dashing through the stages blind and yet with few hiccups. It takes a minute to grasp the game, but past a certain point you just "get" it if you persevere and keep playing. It's not even a skill issue, it's more like unconscious conditioning that you don't even realize is happening. Simple platforming obstacles that give you trouble for a minute and have you going "What am I even supposed to do here?" become cakewalks once you figure them out and simply by UNDERSTANDING what you're supposed to do makes retreading them a breeze when you have to go back through the stage. I don't imagine many games surpassing Pizza Tower this year, but even if it is, it's still an easy top 3 games of the year.
Loving these game reviews, excited to see more of you consider it. I bought pizza tower last night, and refused to put it down for nearly 2 hours, then I remembered that I have responsibilities. Edit: so like a month or so after I bought the game, I got every P rank in the game. I will live with the stress and the pain, but my God was it worth it.
Gosh, I love this game! I really appreciate games that have a lot of emphasis on getting that perfect run, or making the 100% experience actually worth going for, and hoo boy does this game deliver! There has been NOTHING quite as gratifying recently as going through a stage to get all the achievements a couple times, and then using all that knowledge to get the S rank run. I'm not so adept at finding the secrets, so I'll probably work on the P ranks last, but let me tell you I'm both excited and horrified to get em!
When i played the game for the first time back in 2019 with the Sage Demo, i didn't enjoy it, but one day, after opening Opera GX and looking at that tab that shows the next games releasing, i saw Pizza Tower and was like "Hey, I know that game!" and then i decided to give it another shot because since then, i started to like platformers more. Pizza Tower is now in my Top 3 Favorite games of all time.
I actually wanted to refund it because I hated the fact that if you get killed by Pizza Face you just have to start the entire level over again, but I'm glad I stuck with it, because the game is very awesome indeed.
I like these kinds of videos. Otherwise talented youtubers branching off into game reviews reminds me of DasBoSchitt, and I'll take any reminder of him I can get these days

My friends where obsessed with Pizza Tower and Got me into it and I’m really glad they did, everything is a topping to the holy pizza you’d only find in a New Jersey Boardwalk
Congrats Al, you make me wanna get this game more due to the P rank. I mean i don't mind it as i do want another challenge, but with me literally getting 100% with all blue Ace medals (all in one story session as you can replay levels) in Neon White wants me to do another speed-like challenge. Also kinda the fact most people were concerned about me as i was playing on pc using a controller. But overall, i need another speed fix and this seems like the game for me for that xD
Pizza Tower is a masterpiece with incredibly high skill ceiling and actually pretty low skill floor, being extremely accessible if youre not going for 100% and P ranks. It combines slower methodical exploration with high action high speed high on pizza mad run to the end around a level platforming. Pizza Tower has an important distinction from usual speedrun games - its more of a "highscore/combo centric game". To get a PERFECT score you have to complete the entire level in one combo while getting all the secrets, every time you interact with a pizza topping (basically coins) or enemies your combo meter goes up and a timer resets under it - interact with the nearest object before timer gets to zero (while progressing through the level) and you will be golden (the stage timer doesnt really matter, sometimes you can go through the level at a surprisingly low pace)
Gotta be honest. This game reminds me of the dumb fun I remember having playing Kirby Super Star Ultra on my Nintendo DSI everyday before school... I'd probably go out and buy a Steam Deck someday, JUST so I could play this game just like how I used to play those old DSI games before school every day. It definately seems like something young me would have LOVED to play several years ago.
YESSSS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS, Listen, I loved Pizza Tower on sight, I really did.... Buuuttt as much as it kicked ass (especially at the end OMG) I felt at the end like Damm this shit took me like two hours and thirty minutes to beat, did I really get my money's worth? But then I tried to P Rank the bosses and omg the HOURS I would spend talking to myself trying to figure out the strats, piecing together what I could, But then I P ranked Bloodsauce Dungeon and it all FINALLY, FULLY clicked and I was fucking pumping my fist in the air and air humping and shit it was AWESOME, so uhhh yeah, thanks
I learned about this game from watching someone stream it, and then learning it coincidentally released on Steam on my birthday. I may have little to no experience in Wario-like platformers, and I get butterfingers beating Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout just a mere few weeks ago, *twice*. But much like Cuphead, the presentation and music drew me in. I had watched upwards of 3 hours of Pizza Tower gameplay before I decided to try the 2019 demo myself. I was able to make it through the levels just fine, no perfects and no completing the Snick challenge, but I figured that was okay, so I bought the game to play it for myself just the other day. I'm only 2 floors in but I'm still getting the hang of the controls. It is a learning curve, especially the ground pound somehow, but even after I beat some levels, I did the unthinkable and played them again. I went from a D to a C in just one more play through a level? Any progress is good progress, I say. And I'm sure later levels and bosses will hand my 🍑 to me, but I just have to remember: I will improve. Not everyone is born getting through in one try. And that's okay to take time repeating until mastery. This is a mantra I often forget when playing games, especially when seeing others in near perfect runs every time. And sadly it's affected my perspective of lots of media and creative pursuits: everyone is perfect and I am not. But that can't be further from the truth. The livestream I learned about this game from had several retries on levels. Brand new to the experience I saw some "well be right back" screens after falls, and I wasn't the one playing! Theres many accolades to give this game, but one that stands important to me, as a novice platformer, is this: it's okay to fail. You can retry easily, and you can and will conquer the obstacles. I mean, that's gotta be why there's no life system or coin to life system in the game like in Odyssey - it doesn't impact gameplay or value too greatly if you just want to play and beat it regardless of rank. And the extra challenge is just built in rather than extending to another menu option for harder difficulty. It says right away, "you can do this, and maybe after a while, you can do this better and rank up to P". I hear it's a during task, but instead of being an admit of defeat, it serves as a comfort for me: some people will play that hard, but you don't have to. You can play with mistakes and still beat the game and learn all the way. It's amazing how deeply this game shaped my mental health lately, a game of a pizzeria on the brink of annihilation. Or I'm overthinking it. But either way, I feel comfortable playing more Pizza Tower :)
I tist heard about this game several years ago when I heard some of it's music when I first started college several years ago so I'm glad that the game is amazing.
I recommend trying to P rank at least one level if you have any interest at all, it really is a whole different ballgame that is SO satisfying to play.

You can play with mistakes and still beat the game and learn all the way.
It's amazing how deeply this game shaped my mental health lately, a game of a pizzeria on the brink of annihilation. Or I'm overthinking it. But either way, I feel comfortable playing more Pizza Tower :)
this vid is soo good that i watched it 30 times
Yess pizza towerr the animations in this game is so smooth and good
Pizza tower is a great game that I never played before, but I did see gameplay of it. Because I love cartoons
"Tight precision controls"
Hah, please.
I tist heard about this game several years ago when I heard some of it's music when I first started college several years ago so I'm glad that the game is amazing.
Great vid Uncle Al
Nice job on the review Uncle Al.
As someone who has beaten the game, I won't P rank every level.
However, it has peaked an interest, in that of speed running.
I recommend trying to P rank at least one level if you have any interest at all, it really is a whole different ballgame that is SO satisfying to play.
@@UncleAlShow I P ranked John gutter, Pepper man and the noise I'll take those wins and keep em.
I remember finding the demo a hell of a lot of fun, just weird to play with a keybord
definitely keeping a pair of eagle eyes on this game
I've been following this game rather early on, ever since Vinny from Vinesauce first streamed it! It has been through many a evolutions and changes!
This game is unflawed, there’s no problems with it and hopefully we’ll get more games like this

I remember getting Uncle Al's pizza as a kid. Now Uncle Al does a review of pizza tower? It's a conspiracy!
this is the first game I’ve ever seen that everyone agrees that it’s amazing
"Play Pizza Tower, take a shower" You say this as I was watching this video on my phone while I was getting ready for a shower. Stop watching me
