Your lap is great but it puts into perspective how great and mind boggling Andy's record is. He was on an old style R1, less power, no fancy abs, old technology tyres with a slower track (like flugplatz before reprofile) and we're still 10 seconds off!
Abs is dangerous on track so it’s not a benefit🫤
I'm sure he doesn't use abs, as that kills laptime, and the guy 100% knows what they doing
People have no clue how much time 10 seconds really is at this level. It's massive. This rider is good, but he really wasn't even close.
@@aShamelessHigh10 seconds over that many corners is not that much.
@@alfredlille the distance between them of 10 seconds is literally half of a mile. Trust me, that may seem close, but it isn't.

This is the most amazing thing I’ve seen today. Great riding you’re a very skilled rider. The r1 sounds soo good.
Absolutely flying! Few scrappy bits to iron out to get the time down. But that’s what you get when you’re in the limit ✊✊✊ love your videos!

3:57 😅 you're a nutter mate!
idk anything about motorcycles; did he just oversteer from too much power and save it?
@A_youtube_channel_ i don’t know anything bout bikes either but it looked like he just got super low to the ground, pushing the bike to its limit, and as he sprung back up he lost the tiniest bit of traction which is why he let off throttle for a second
@@willmcclard206 By the looks, he lost a bit of traction at the rear - his reaction to it seems about right for someone who has dirt experience. Thing is, this is very common and controllable for folks who ride offroad. For those that only know pavement though, losing the rear is almost an assured crash - I'd be curious to know if he also rides off pavement.
nonsense
.picked a random time
It's a steeper hill with an angle so the rear wants to kick out a bit more. I have this one corner on a mountain route that's going up with a long curve I run weekly where I've learned to just upshift early and avoid the spin.
This is borderline insane to me. Respect
Respect earned. Amazing rider! He must have a professional career behind him (or still has)... 2:20 Those double shifts before the corner tells alot about him.
Taking the rumble strip at the Bellof-S exit is diabolical. Insane lap!
This was beautiful. I want to watch this in VR while sitting on my little 300cc. You beast, job well done.
Snatching that near high side up the hill was smooth work dude. Ride safe 💪🏼
Really cool to see a bike be comparable to super cars. P1 GTR is a BEAST.
Looking from the confort of the bed, i would say there is plenty margin to achieve a sub 7 lap. However, only the driver feels the bike, the track, the forces, etc, so... Big respect for what you have done!
In case you're wondering (as I once was), the time set is BTG - Bridge to Gantry, meaning the bridge-y bit at the start, and ending at the overhead gantry on the final straight. A full lap is not allowed anymore which is why German Helmut Dähne is still(?) the 1993 official lap record holder on his RC30 with 7m49s71.
i've never heard an R1 sound quite like that, WOW!
yea, its sounds like 300 cc. look up gsr 600 sound
Fantastic run mate! 💪👏
You'll get it, just be patient. 👌
Love the bike and how you speced out.
You got that 10 seconds eassyyyyyyy w better traffic. Stay safe! Super impressive
You‘re a real racer man. Respect!
Watching this brings my adrenaline up!
Really good driving, was a blast to watch. Keep on chasing the record, u'll get it at some point!
That R1 sounds delicious 😋 I definitely need a crossplane too....😊
You're at a point where a little slower into a corner will net you those 10 seconds easily in exit. I counted 8 or 9 corners where you had to wait for the front to turn before applying gas. Going into those corners just a tad slower will enable you to accelerate much faster. I'm very sure you know exactly which corners those were.
Man, I have stuff in my head about like turn 4, lap 9 of a race from 5-6 years ago that still bother me. It's very much a thing lol.
I've noticed that too. Crazy to think that even with a 7:19 BTG there is still a lot of improvement to be made. 😁
Also seemed like he could have carried more speed through a few of the slight uphill bends before the karousel.
Some of the throttle inputs felt a little on off. Could shave some time with more precise entry speeds like you said in order to hold consistent throttle mid corner. I struggle with this myself on familiar routes as I hate being the rider passing through that sounds like they're unsure with the wrist.
beside the riding skills...that crossplane sound 🤤...
Mad props, absolutely shredding it. 10 seconds is a lonnnnggg time on track though. Keep sending it!
Absolute amazing. On the limit 99%. Hard to find way to those 10sec!!! Not impossible but lethal dangerousj indeed!!! Stay safe and never mind about it
casually opening the visor at 150kmh lmao that riding was nuts

It's so cool that I get to see you improve in real time!! Best of luck! ❤
One of my friends held the record for a bit but he also won two helicopter rides so take care 🙏🏻 awesome job
insane attempt dude! and that's some good audio recording, the bike sounds 🤌🏻
Watching your video makes me feel like my life flash before my eyes, too scary!
120 before historical pit exit and 190 towards flugplatz are even more impressive to me! Both 30 more than any car could handle i've seen or simulated (except 919 record lap)😮
I could feel the bike through the whole video 👍 that was fun
That's nothing! Back in 2003 i did a 6:45 on a zx10r, and that was the full ring start line to start line...
On a ps2 playing Tourist Trophy.
P.s in all seriousness, it feels like the faster line at Steilstrecke is to brake later and deeper, late apexing it for a faster run into the Carousel.
P.p.s, amazing run dude, living the dream. I'm super jelly.
Holy guacamole 🥑 Not only very fast but I can clearly see from the bike handling that you were always safe within your personal limits. Respect for that! 👍
What a fucking lap. Would love to do it! Brilliant riding and the sound of that R1 is out of this world.
Great Video and insane riding skills. At the right corner after Breitscheid (Adenau), i had to rewind the video and watch this scary moment again. 😱😱😱. But it’s normal when you ride at limit.
Just be aware the NOS has almost no run-off areas. Take your time. We wanna see much more videos of your rides 💯💯💯💯. Nevertheless great Job !!!
Love to see it with a clear run, if such a thing exists :)
I could critique the form in a few corners, then I realise I am utterly talking out my ass :)) Nothing beats the skill and experience of the rider in the moment: they had reasons for doing what they did that transcend the limited POV of the camera and my pretensions...
great job, really enjoyed it, stay safe, ride on ...
There’s more to come there!, keep it up 👍
Very very nice lap m8! You definitely have potential to beat the WR!
There were quite a handful of turns where you hugged the apex slightly too closely and had to adjust, you lost bit of speed through each of those + you have plenty of corners where you were still shy on exit throttle, which is very understandable :) But when you get those tuned up, I'm pretty sure you'll beat it!
But in the process, please stay alive :)
Holy sheet you were cookin. Very impressive riding.
damn bro is fucking fast, but the fact that the porsche 919 did this in exactly two minutes less is mindblowing
Bikes lose time in the corners. Cars take them much faster at that level
@@ironbridgebeast5643 yeah i know, but its mind blowing
@@moller8 The footage from that actually gives me motion sickness, and I race motorcycles my self. It just boggles my brain.
@@ironbridgebeast5643 And braking! Bikes are terrible on the brakes compared to cars. Even an econobox can stop better than race bikes
@@ironbridgebeast5643what u mean “that level” 919 evo is no where near the same level of a r1, note that this “slower” bike does the ring faster than pagani zonda f and lamborghini aventador lp 700
I see 10 seconds, part setup part rider, but remember, whilst death might be an illusion pain is horribly real!! Stay safe and good luck in your mission! Subbed 😜
Only 3 more seconds needed to beat my old GSXR600K7.. OK I built the bike and Andy rode it.. But he did say he had been faster than the 7m 17 seconds but the camera failed. He felt he could have gone 10 seconds faster on the 600 but got high sided on one of his quick laps.
7m 19 is flying and respect for going for it...
Andy's a sound lad isn't he? I worked with him years back when he had a road legal minimoto in Coventry...
That bike just sounds happier the faster it goes !!!😂
That was poetry in motion. Outstanding
Insane lap mate
A pleasure to watch
You're a better rider than me by far. You were slowed down by that red car. Sort out a few corners that I think you could have done better on, and braking you will walk over that record for sure.
Great vid 😊
Son of a gun dude, wicked riding!
The ONLY fast biker I’ve ever seen on TF. Normally they be holding me up😉
As a motorcyclist for ages I'm still amazed at how 'slow' bikes are compared to cars on this track. Yet cars cannot get close to the record at the Isle of Man.
It's because of the Isle of Man's layout. A lot of left right combinations on the TT can be taken nearly flatout on a bike because they are narrow and can ride a nearly straight line through all those combinations, wheras a car, being much wider, has to slow down alot to avoid crashing into curbs or walls. At the Ring bikes don't have this advantage and lose out against the car's superior cornering speeds and later braking.
@@kenvanpassen9247The “threading the needle” aspect is part of it… But it’s mainly due to the fact they rarely do flat out, timed car runs on the TT course, so the driver practice, and vehicle development isn’t there.
It’s much more dangerous for spectators, and buildings, so they keep it to bikes and sidecars.
A car with full aero and a 220mph top speed could probably beat a bike on the TT.
@@Jonathan_Doe_ yep. Last record attempt was still a minute off i think.
Of course they can. Any supercar would easily break the TT record. Give some skilled driver a 911 GT3 RS and it's gonna easily do it. The reason cars aren't holding the TT record is not because they can't, but because there's barely any car scene taking place there and nobody seriously attempted to do the record runs in serious cars.
Ur wrong. A gt3rs could most definitely not break the TT record lmfao, for the exact reason the replies before mentioned, having to corner combinations that bikes can straight line
Nice one!
Keep on going, you will get there.
The bike is great, looks like you are still pretty comfortable riding this pace.
That was awesome.
Another great video and ride.
I could listen to that R1 sing all day.
The beemer at the beginning and the end ruined your run.
Mr Carlisle is shitting himself 😂
Even with a little highside moment at Adenau? 🔥
A bit to agressive on the throttle 😂
Wow very impressive, keep up the good work
Insanity. You are a hero.
5 seconds can definitely be gained if there wasn't traffic and pushing like a mad man. Those other 5 seconds comes down to skill and bike capabilities. In conclusion that really fucking impressive. only few percentages of people can do that. I wonder with a ducati or aprilla race bike how his time will differ.
Creo que el cronometraje debería de haber empezado en la línea de salida! Cuando termina la larga recta como en el juego GranTurismo 🎉🎉🎉
