I bought mine in December 2014. While it's not my favorite car I've ever had, it is likely the best I've had. 95,000 miles on it and it has never had a single issue. Mileage is fantastic and that 369 lb ft of torque is great for U.S. driving. While I was in Germany, this wouldn't have been my first pick. Most taxis in Germany are this car actually. The bonus....getting an over $4,000 payback from Mercedes for alleged involvement in the diesel emission cheating scheme. It's 8 year old now and still looks like a new, modern car.
I've had mine since October and it's been a fantastic car to drive. I still think buying the Lexus GS F Sport would have been a lot more fun and the interior was nicer, but this car has the all around package and gets 35mpg average in highway/city combined, and as high as 50mpg on the highway. Glad to have more diesel options on the road.
I have the 2015. It’s a little noisy in road. Hardon Karman system is lacking unless I play it loud. I’d go back to my c280 if it was brand new. It was a tight little car
sure never happened with my two VW golf diesels...over 700k miles total and only in the shop for brakes in 17 years...must be that you keep your car in a coal mine
israel benjamin I wish that was the case. Had a 1980 VW truck and it was bullet proof. Same for a 1981 Jetta. (all made in Germany back then) After 300k got a 2002 TDI Bug. (now made in Mexico) Intake would plug up after 10k, nothing helped. VW would not do anything even though it was brand new and under warranty. It was the last VW I owned after that!
Well Americans won't welcome this because of their twisted views on how hybrids are better. The Europeans are doing it right by introducing diesels and I hope the C220CDI comes to North American markets. When will Americans realize that diesels are also for good fuel consumption and doesn't need to be in a pickup truck only.
Diesel does cost more in the states but I would much rather have a decked out Cadillac CTS-V coupe and pay the same price as the base model for this car. That is the problem with European cars, they might be "Sophisticated" and have high quality parts but they are impossible to find parts for, and cost to much for a shitty economy like ours.
zzzhuh Impossible to find parts? MB sold and made millions of these and many of the cars in the lineup share parts to some extent so there is a huge aftermarket and many companies make spare parts. Try finding parts for a late 90s Corvette or any GM for that matter, not easy because many of GM's names are now defunct. If you drive a fair bit the diesel will make sense, the economy will offset the extra costs and in reality this car will have a smaller footprint than a Prius from the time it's manufactured to the time it hits the junkyard 30 years later.
Djonkie Bonk We're slowly getting there. Hybrids have been losing sales, believe it or not. RAM's recent move with putting a diesel in their 1500 was probably one of the best moves they've ever done. Despite the added few thousand to the price tag of that truck, I've been seeing them all over the place. Volkswagen has been doing very well with their TDI models as well. The E Class is my favorite car, and I would consider getting the E250 BlueTEC. But, the E400 with the twin turbo 3.0 V6 is catching my attention as well.
Kevin Metz I've seen some Jeeps with the 3.0 Diesel but the majority of Rams are still the HEMI models but I can see why that would be the case. That's interesting to know that the diesel 1500s are selling well. I think you'll be sold on the E400 the second you press the gas.
Had a 2015 E250, put 125000 on it in three years. Totally trouble free car. One of the best cars I have ever driven.
I’m considering one as a realtors car
The future is gonna be so awesome for used car buyers.
+1979irock You are right. Im about to buy a used one of these. $29k with only 20k miles. :D
A 7.2-second 0-60 mph time in a diesel E-Class 4MATIC is fantastic.
Kiss me you fool
@@APAstronaut333 😘
I can't wait to buy one of these. I love my 2005 C320 4matic. You really save money with that engine

I wonder if the intake will plug up with soot like the VW TDI we had before? 😳

not as cool as my 1983 300SD.
@igotwhips
"not as cool as my 1983 300SD."
And 1983SD was not much of a cool car .... so go figure what kind of a car this is.
Fussinated That's actually a VERY cool car!
I'd prefer a 1991 500E ;) Or a 300CE-24.

High price of diesel fuel in the United States vs regular unleaded

Why are all car reviewers old white men? We love our 350...
Because you are an idiot
Because this particular car reviewer is a reptilian
because not many want to review a nissan altima or dodge charger
stupid racist
what does this have to do with anything?
