Richard has been at the forefront of digital media and marketing since 2005, with over five billion affiliated views and millions of subscribers and followers to his brands. His shift in focus went from traditional media to digital when he started a software company to facilitate the needs of content creators with the development of an iOS. Since then, he has worked with Google, the RUclips Product Team, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Universal and other companies in the entertainment and video game industries. Richard also consulted for a multitude of advertising agencies with creative strategies, analytics, and the optimization of content and marketing initiatives. In 2016, he helped launch Verizon and Hearst Media Partners' digital media brand “Rated Red” as Executive Producer. Verizon and Hearst Media Partners focused on various types of content and collaborations within it brands like Complex. VHMP worked with brands like Ford on product initiatives like the F150, Ford Focus, Ford Raptor, Ford GT, Dodge, Ram, SEMA, LA auto show, Nissan and other car, truck, automobile, side by side, atv and motorcycle manufacturers.
During that time Richard and his fellow co-founders at www.blackriflecoffee.com saw growth in the e-commerce coffee company to the point where it required their full time attention. He resigned from Complex Networks to focus on the coffee company in the fall of 2017. The coffee company’s social channels provide entertainment, inspiration and education. Everything from how to make cold brew, how to make coffee via a chemex, diy drink recipes, diy food recipes and more. There is a focus on humor, comedy and sketch comedy based content around the brand to compliment and contrast with the serious themes and types of content from their charity work to telling the stories of the coffee company’s employees to those who have or currently still do serve their country and community.
Richard still enjoys creating content in the outdoor and adventure world. He is an avid wingsuit pilot and skydiver. He enjoys getting up into the mountains hiking, snow skiing, riding snow machines, fishing or anything to get him out from in front of a computer in the office. It's the little things in life... Like mounting a M61 Vulcan 20mm to a Toyota Prius hybrid electric vehicle!
I love the bounce of the air cavities and how they produce heat and a bit of light before re-expanding.
That is crazy
Sonoluminescence!
***** Yup, that's the name.
those explosion-implosions are truly breathtaking.. we can do a lot of modelling of real-world systems, but actually doing a test like this always yields unexpected new results.. also, it seems that no matter how much you slow things down, there are always faster things that we can't observe (yet)... amazing..
Misleading thumbnails, should be banned. And any thumbnail glorifying art when it is not depicted at all in the video. You gain more views for that than the content itself, sorry.
What's wrong with this thumbnail?
You didn't think they were actually going to shoot sharks, right?
Oh the shark, no lol. I was more interesting in the flow of water as the projectile goes through it
Note to self: No artistic renditions about the subject matter in the thumbnail! Fuck the fact that it's shark week, and they happen to be testing the effectiveness of rounds underwater... gee, I wonder what the thumbnail could have to do with the content of the video? Fucking idiot.
Anyone else watched the 30 second mandatory commercial at the beginning? At first they were 10 seconds and the longer than 10 second ones were with skip ad option. Now they started to prolong those commercials without skip option. They slowly make people numb to crooked practices this way; ONE STEP AT A TIME.
+Fussinated two words: Adblock Plus ;)
StickyIckyOOHWAY Why should anyone use any block? It should be other way around. Those who want to watch commercials should activate it.
yea I been saying that
1st upload to my page since connecting to G+!
Thanks for following, I'm a HUGE fan. BTW, thanks for helping me get an 96 on my final English exam.
Essay about gun violence. We talked about this on twitter, I can e-mail it to you if you want. You might be proud of me.
This was an epic awesome rad cool video! Seriously.
Shared this video to G+ the day it came on RUclips.. Keep up with the great videos Richard!
These videos are great. They always are music synced :)
3:40 the slow mo water trail is so cool its like a work of art.
1:20 to 1:50 , i can imagine that a big bang explosive...
Where is the SHARK? I hate to see when someone fake the video for more views
HF KoKoOo Congratulations you are an idiot!
It was CLEARLY photo shopped in xd
the ammo is nick named shark ammo
they didnt do that the shark was there because the ammo name they didnt false avertise their video it didnt say "gun vs shark"
the shark is at the end did u not watch the whole video
this gives me a idea for high speed underwater travel,
В
Those explosion-implosion oscillations are jaw-dropping
And I love the slow motions
Nice work. The rotation of the slug is cool, but seeing the powder combusting multiple times in the shock wave is bad ass. Love the slow mo!
This is science, frame by frame
i just subscribed after stumbling across your 20mm video and I am an extreme gun enthusiast as well as a USMC VET. I gotta say that I could sit and watch your videos for hours!!!! Very very good stuff!!!!
4,200 frames per second? What camera did you use?
Cheers!
im wonder about that too lol
42,700***
STAMPUNCH sorry sir. the accessories such as CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6 L SP PL Lens could cost as much as 45k but the camera is about 20k.
I'm always confused by this. Wouldn't 4200 frames per second be really fast?
crash979797 Normal cameras capture video between 24-30 FPS, depending on the format and the type of camera. A lot of action is missed. With the high FPS rates (there are even cameras that record a trillion FPS!), more motion is captured. When played back in slow motion or in freezing frames, far more detail is seen since more frames were captured.
I'm making it a point to go back and watch all the Full Mag videos and like and comment on them.
His channel deserves the love for the really quality content.
Soon Americans are swimming in pools with their guns everywhere...
Yes and kids will soon have guns too by that time adults will able to buy military class weapons umadbro
Sorry RR but it is illegal to shoot guns i have to put you under citizens arrest
If he have license
Not if he has a license which he definitely does and also you don't even know where he lives you can't put him under arrest noob.
internet people are straight up retarded i swear to god, you can't tell a joke if it slaps you across the face
Ronsonn Swandom
Internet people as opposed to -? Real people? or is it.... you(tube) people?
zysis Internet people as opposed to people in reality. Without the anonymity of the internet, people usually feel stupid replying to sarcasm seriously, so they keep quiet. With the anonymity of the internet, people say whatever comes to mind, regardless of logic, humor or reason
What ever happened to the video series about super cavitating rounds you mentioned at the end of this video?
Whatfor5 t
Whatfor5 dd
so cool...you can see the bullet spin and the trail of air it leaves....and then the vortex crashing back into itself. very cool.
Put 3 frag grenades into a dead seal, and tie fishing line to the pins. Now that's how to kill a shark.
Fluid dynamics are amazing.
How can there 4000,000+ views when there are 700,000 people in the world, nice try youtube nice try.
There are 4 million views and seven billion people you fecking village idiot!
Steve Dawes its a troll
Who made that kind of joke in the first place?
4000,000? * slow clap* you did good, you did good.
There are 7,000,000,000 (billion) people in the world
Okay, seeing rifling patterns on the cavitation bubbles was really neat.
40 mm canon underwater!
Brilliant! Didnt expect the FMJ to look so cool underwater being shot!
Could the bullet curve so much that it actually could hit you ?
hell no man
***** plus, I don't think he'd get hurt if that happened, they come out fast but get really slow after a second.
***** yeah alot of bullets can actually break up into pieces from the surface tension coming out of the gun.Thats why its annoying when in action movies the bullets fly through the water
Yeah, I heard of that but wasn't sure, thank you. I bet it is annoying, now that I know that, it'll be annoying for me too.
*****
lol
Love the slow motion of the gas and water after the shot .
Ratedrr vs fpsrussia
You, my friend, have earned yourself a new subscriber! Very informative videos and it shows you put a lot of effort into making these for the veiwers. My hat goes off to you.
Anyone else see that clown face during the second bullet firing? 2:40-2:45
omg, you're right lol.
omg, you're right lol.
Aik Ealodiir i see a dick
TubeRat i see the one between my legs... but that is besides the point.
+Aik “Lich of the Heavens” Ealodiir lol
Funny to see how the bullet has left the barrel and (in the water) has already almost stopped before the slide hits the frame to let you feel the recoil, and most of us think that the recoil is felt when the bullet leaves the barrel or when the round is ignited but in reality it's already far away (in normal circumstances )
hello guys, this will sound like bull shit to your hears, but I HATE machines made with one purpose: KILL
My hears are insulted.
GUNS KILL PEOPLE? SO I SUPPOSE PENCILS MISSPELL WORDS, CARS DRIVE DRUNK AND SPOONS MAKE YOU FAT?
what a brave man you are, you knew it's bull shit still wrote them down anyway.
So why are you watching gun videos if you hate guns so much.
I was curious, sometimes you land in unexpected videos on youtube, didn't happened to you before?
that slow mo of the muzzle blast and bullet trail expanding g and collapsing again and again is fucking sweet!
what happened to the supercavitation videos?, you never uploaded them.....
Perfect synchro to music with the vortices collapsing.
Sharknado is so stupid as a movie your best use of a 9mm is to your own head. Lol
Cavitation is awesome, basically boiling water by underwater friction. Submarines always had that problem with their props. The only way they can get detected anymore
1:23 Ice Cream :D
You should address the sonoluminescence, aka the faint flash when the bubble collapses. I would also like to see it done in the dark. Cool video.
It's like mini nuclear bombs
If hurting yourself is worth a few bucks or being cool then keep it up you guys are nuts! You should NEVER fire a gun under these conditions you just never know and
if something happens your life is at risk. Have nice day
It looks cool how it makes a large stretched bubble, then implodes on itself very quickly then disperses.
And it does it several times...
when i see a hot girl
1:17
+ald3ees Bro...
+ald3ees ur soo right
lmfao
wtf
+ald3ees lol wut
I like seeing the slomo gas bubbles show the rifling of the barrel
1:23 ICE CREEEEAAAAAMMM
DILDOOOOOO 1:20
Any idea of fending off a shark is scary, but I'd personally prefer a spear gun or Hawaiian Sling and a good dive knife. Great Photography !!
was this footage taken from mars? A very weird physics is going on here..because call of duty says otherwise
Or maybe because call of duty is a game (not real)
Sarcasm...
*sigh*
+dracobluelol Depth too
+dracobluelol Thats true! There is nothing more authentic the weapon balistics/physics in call of duty. In fact, Call of Duty is used by scientists as a benchmark for testing and science type experiments. Yes. I wouldn't lie about something like this.
Boy if you think COD physics are real physics...
the bubble is amazing you can see the shooter in it as well as the rifling
CAn you make a video explaining the repetitive expansion and extractions after the gun is fired. And dispite the fact I see a biig bubble, none of it makes it to the surface.
Go check out Smarter Every Day for that.
Some ILM shit right there. Those underwater concussions (or whatever they were) are so mesmerizing
the new fps russia
fps Russia is still my fave xD
Oh man, if I had a nickel for every time a two-headed shark tried to sink my boat. Grrr. It's so frustrating. Serially though, this was a cool video. And the information is probably useful for a variety of situations...if they involve firearms and water. And two-headed sharks of course.
You remind of fps Russia but more exact
OMG! The Implotions are just amazing! :3
Implosion is the word you were searching for champ.
You are like a new version of fps russia
When I was in the army, my CO's always told us the barrel would mushroom and severely injure the shooter if a gun was discharged under water, or even with droplets of water inside the barrel.
Was there ever a followup video to this one released, as he mentioned at the end?
Aw man, I wish the slowmo sequences didn't have any background music. The sounds are phenomenal on their own.
You are a idea thief you just took an image from the slowmoguys and added a shark
should do this at night with no light to see if you can capture the ever elusive luminescence caused by the pressure waves. That'd be so cool!!!
Slow Mo Guys did it better.
There always is this guy in the comments
Fun fact: Gavin Free, from Slow Mo Guys, referenced him in a video he made with some friends. So there's that.
Really loved, the lovely slo-mo under water films.
when being underwater while firing, you will destroy your ears forever. please try.
Oh my god, the slow-mos are so beautiful...
I really would love to see you shoot either an HK 417 or an HK 416 underwater!!! Nice footage, keep up the good work!
with hollowpoints underwater, the pressure probably starts the bullet expansion before even leaving the barrel, slowing the velocity considerably
Wow that is really interesting the water pressure collapses the bullet and the energy of the shot over it self until its all drawn out.
Looks to me like the shark would eat good on that day . The bullet craps out 3 feet from the gun . Your timing would have to be perfect for it to stop a shark at 25 MPH . I think you would be shark food .
Fascinating, though I've seen some of those similar videos you mentioned. The ultra-slowmo renders high speed physics into visual poetry. The idea of underwater capable firearms represents a number of challenges to engineers, shooters, and targets, alike, something you alluded to early on. I was always with the "Gyrojet" concept of miniature, self propelled, caseless, ammunition, but it seems like that concept has been challenged and, possibly, overtaken, by newer developments. Thanks for posting!
Regarding the cavitation effect, check out pistol shrimps - they use something similar to stun their prey...
Super Slo-mo is UNREAL. Good music as well!
this is a grate way to blow out your ear drums and hert your eyes for sure, explosions under water are not the same in air
seeing that vacuum created by the bullet underwater is cool everytime
update, it did not work, rip gerbils the gerbil test pilot
In Australia (and possibly around the world) we developed a spear gun projectile for shark defense and larger fish back in the 60's. It was essentialy a .303 british cartridge in the tip of a rubber sling spear or a spear gun projectile that would make contact, and then force the .303 cartridge onto a firing pin, directly firing into the target on contact.... I could be wrong though.....
watching the gas expand and implode is probably one of the coolest things i have ever seen.
It would be neat to have a small lipstick camera on the end of a rod that could be extended into the wake bubble to see the bubble form and expand from the in side.
I suppose shooting underwater would actually give the bullet more initial power since there's more resistance on the back of the slide, so pressure change inside the chamber is higher.
Wow, that footage was awesome! Even better than parable footage on mythbusters. Great job!
its amazing how quickly water slows down bullets, you dont really get the idea of just how dense water is till you see something like that.
and yet people still dont understand how dangerous high diving is or how jumping off a bridge into water is an effective suicide method lol
pretty damn cool.
What kind of Camera are you using for the Slow-mo shots?
that ice cream cone tho at 1:20
waw even the FMJ started spinning uncontrolled - incredible
Note how the pistol performs a HORIZONTAL chimney-stack with every shot, as the round has enough power to cycle the weapon, but NOT clear the casing underwater. Hence the reason it is said that YES, a PISTOL CAN fire in oxygen-deprived environs, but not numerous times. A RIFLE, such as the M16, or the AK47, can fire at least twice before such a jam occurs due to the power of the ammunition.
Ive been on youtube for a while watching firearm videos and gotta say i have watched some of yours and absolutely your one of the best firearm/Education videos I've seen on the internet thumbs up and SUBCRIBE GOOD VIDS!!!!!
I like how the bubbles show the spin of the bullet
What I think about the first gun. Is that bullets CANNOT shoot under water. Therefore it makes an air bubble for it to travel in, but the fact of speed is still in play. That means that the bullet goes so fast that it breaks the bubble, which incases the bullet in water. As stated before by me bullets CANNOT shoot under the insense preasure of water. Therefore when the bubble breaks and water incases the bullet the speed decreses to almost nothing then stops and falls. I am 12. Hope in right.
If only we could see the world as slow as this...Maybe the world would slow down for a bit for us to show its true beauty.
Those cavitation bubbles are so cool
Everything is awesome when you slow it down.
people have never been able to see things this awesome before. thank you!
Wow, it was very interesting to see those slow-motion expanding and collapsing bubbles in the trail of the bullet... and how ineffective a gun is underwater. Water is really great at stopping a bullet. I guess this video also graphically explains why Captain Nemo and his crew don't use normal guns for underwater hunting. :P That supercavitating ammo sounds quite interesting- first time I heard of supercavitation being applied to bullets.
There is more energy produced from the bubble collapse than the bullet. Though not focused but dispersed energy is intense.
At an insane party, I won $100 when someone bet me that you could not fire a pistol underwater. A quick dip in the pool with my 1911, proved him wrong. I picked up the slug off the bottom of the pool, and handed it to the man that just lost his bet.
what did we learn from this? guns look 1000 times more epic in water than they do on land (when fired at slow mo)
fluid dynamics are so fucking interesting and even harder to describe mathematically.
Fascinating how those bubble pops (pulses) trail along the path of the bullet.
Always fascinating just how quickly water slows down a bullet.
nice videos. can you please do some for us military surplus guys, who like accuracy, take film of different military surplus rifles or smg's when firing. maybe one a week as a series. alot of people would be interested in the mosin, only videos are horrible quality.
