I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis about 5 years ago, but have never been convinced. I went to several doctors disputing this diagnosis and demanded being tested for C.Diff 8 to 10 times. Finally, I have received positive test results that show C.Diff toxins TODAY. I am so over come by joy it's incomprehensible. Now I can finally start treatment and end this hell I have been living for years. NEVER GIVE UP.

Z71usa Since I had C.diff for so long undiagnosed, it's been difficult to get rid of. I've been on every medication possible, but it keeps coming back almost immediately. I'm waiting for a fecal transplant at the moment. Since I have been living with C.diff for so long, it has created an inflammatory bowel problem, so even when the C.diff is being controlled, my inflammatory bowel is still active. I have a team of researchers and doctors working on the case. They are certain that once the C.diff is ridden, the inflammatory bowel will sort itself out in time. This is what happens when your pill pushing local MD's are too lazy to diagnose you right the first time.

Z71usa Good idea. Remember to learn how to handle your samples. The reason I tested negative for c.diff after demanding the test is because I wasn't handling it properly. Get your sample in almost IMMEDIATELY. Get it in within the hour, i'd say.

I was diagnosed with c Diff a month ago before that about 3 months prior I was having sever diarrhea almost everyday to the point of almost going in myself no doc toes could figure out what was causing it till 3 weeks ago I went to the er with severe abdominal and anal pain to the point I was in tears and I don’t cry over anything! But they also did a ct scan and it showed I also have a partial bowel obstruction so they put me on vencomicin and I’m still having pain and diarrhea I finally got my appetite back and am able to eat but I can’t eat a lot at one time and I still have diarrhea about 30 minutes after eating along with my intestines making violent noises! And now I’m waking up with cold sweats and chills and the body aches are back where I feel like I have the flu and I forgot to mention about a month ago I weighed 130 pounds when I went to the er 2 weeks ago I was down to 117 and I am also type 1 diabetic sense birth and the c Diff if carousing my sugars to go out of wack so yea this is my story of my health at the moment and I’m kind of scared because I am now waking up shivering and feeling like I have the flu really bad but I don’t

Should consider Faecal transplantation as per the Nood et al., (2013) NEJM article. Although still not widespread in clinical practice, their trial showed 94% success with faecal transplantation over 32% using vancomycin. Hopefully will gain more widespread adoption with further RCTs.

This video answered many questions, but C. Diff keeps recurring. I have had abdominal repair and 7 hernia repairs. Had E. Coli, C, Diff and other infections. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy in 3 weeks and wondering if I should proceed with the test. Any feed back would be welcome.

IBD doesn't stand for irritable bowel disease. It's inflammatory bowel disease. Thanks for the other info though

Mh. Some mistakes in this video. There is actually a third, binding toxin making it even more serious. It is also possible to be treated with vanco alone.
Toxic megacolon doesnt always lead to surgery.

IBD is not irritable bowel disease :D but that's just a minor mistake. But great video otherwise.
