I was taking an antibiotic for my strep throat ( cephalexin ). It said on the bottle that after use of the drug I would have diarrhea, it didn’t say that I’d be in excruciating pain for a week and some change.... I suffered from severe cramps and diarrhea. I used the bathroom more than 6 times a day, I could hardly sleep and I felt hopeless!
Step that helped me get better:
-probiotic yogurt twice daily before eating anything else
    - rice
    - bread
    - probiotic pills ( once a day with a meal )
    - fatty foods make it worse
    - patients and prayer
I did this for about two days and found relief! I hope this helps someone 🖤

I’m so happy to have this resource, I have been going through lots of GI issues, c diff, anastomosis as a result of Volvulus, and Burkett’s, gallbladder removed, and a small bowel lap... I really wanted my DX to be Zollinger’s but I was denied that fun. You’re really helping me understand and ask questions to my providers. Cheers!

I have this disease. Been on Flagyl and Vancomycin, but nothing helps. Just started week 13 with 24/7 diaré. Nedless to say I am exhausted!😫. I don’t feel like I’m getting the help I need here🇳🇴. Searching for information everywhere and anywhere, this video was very informative. Thank you.

i’m going to a gastroenterologist right now and recently had a colonoscopy and there was what we thought was c diff found. there were psuedomembranes aligning my colon from my cecum all the way through the transverse along with Inflamation and what to look like infection. I took a stool test about four months prior the colonoscopy and the result was negative. after I was “diagnosed” with c diff after my colonoscopy I was to take another stool test for c diff. it came back negative again. my doctor said in his whole career he’s never seen psuemembranes and inflamation like that and not be c diff. I think I have IBD but my doctor seems lost. any advice?

Sounds like food sensativities and gut biome imbalance may be at play. It causes nutrient deficiencies and leads to our chemical building blocks not having the materials to function and heal.
I went gluten free, then found out about FODMAP elimination diet. It turned out I was sensative to dairy in excess amounts, and sugars and refined carbs really set me off. Beans and legumes were a problem too. I eventually went with the healthy keto diet which has helped out greatly. Recently I found out I have sensativity to the nightsade family of foods as well. It's a mess, but take it one step at a time, if you are dealing with the same kinds of dietary issues I am.
Chronic neurological pain and fatigue are a big part of it too, and brain fog. Maybe try a good detox too. I can't seem to find any doctors that really have a handle on it. Most seem clueless to me, though they seem to think they know what they're talking about. It's rare that anything they perscribe works. Good luck, and maybe start a log of what you eat and your symptoms to help track what might be contributing.
If I eat hidden gluten, I tend to have symptoms for a few days after. Sometimes I eat out, and my body shuts down in about 15 to 30 minutes after, for a few hours. I also have Hashiamotos thyroiditis. Hope something I said may help. Good luck.
Dr. Berg here on youtube as been the biggest help, but there are others who I've found in researching the keto diet. It seems like all the different things I'm dealing with are linked in several ways, so searching one seems to lead to other contributing factors. Its your health, body, and life. You have to be in charge of it and your treatment. "Experts" arent experts in what your dealing with, just in textbook ailments. There is a lot that doctors dont know. The information changes daily, yet they keep pretending what they know is accurate. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's just scratching the surface, nobody truly knows which.
Sorry I went so long and it's kind of rambling too. Its part of my symptoms. Good luck again.

Andrew Winchel thanks for the reply! turned out I had ulcerative colitis no c diff although I did develop c diff landing me right back in the hospital because of my remicade infusions lowering my immune system. i’m much better than I was and i’m finally getting somewhere!

@@flightreactstvlive6477 still check out Dr. Eric Berg. He has some great information and explains it well. I wish I knew these things when I was your age. Your body is relatively resilient when young, but as you get older, the systems alow down and resilience can end. Its kind of like there is a capacity tank that gets full then the issues spill over. Think chronic injury versus traumatic injury. Anyway. I'm glad you have a direction, be ready for the next health issue.

Overall great video. In your presentation you confidently state that probiotics should be given with antibiotics. While that may make sense to do that, and the harm of probiotics is low, currently there is not enough evidence to support giving all patients receiving antibiotics, or even all patients with C diff infections probiotics. the 2018 IDSA guidelines reflect this ( I acknowledge this video was released before that).
