    Had CDiff about 2 years ago - my digestive system has not been the same since. Obtained it from 3 different docs trying 3 different antibiotics on me to eradicate a UTI. I ended up with CDiff. Used the FLORASTER probiotic afterwards and it is amazing - helped restore my system to some extent. I have not had “diarrhea” necessarily but I have to take a raw probiotic bid before I eat so I don’t have negative consequences the next morning. Digestion is quite sensitive. I have never truly stabilized - do not know why. Not sure of next steps.

      My aunt has been clear for six months now. I am her carer and I share your grief. She has a liquid probiotic, but I found bentonite clay the most beneficial. She can't eat anything with onion, mushroom, vegies like pumpkin and peas also can cause diarrhoea. Some days are better than others. She is on a regular starch diet, with organic rice. I realised that even meat that has had antibiotic treatment affects her. To recover her electrolytes, I give her baobab powder in thick milk, with honey. It helps as well. But as I say, I really sympathise with you. It is not easy.

      You might need to reestablishing the right flora in your gut, you need certain types of probiotics Saccharomyces boulardii (S. boulardii) is a type of probiotic is what I read helps, but some people swear by Garden of Life that has like 5O strains do some research and get with an expert. There is an actual test that private labs do to find out what gut flora looks like. Not something regular labs do. That is one of the reasons I work with holistic naturopathic doctors and Chinese medicine they do more broader testing and use private labs and seem to be the ones that help cure me not my regular MD .

    I caught it from someone. My body got rid of it miraculously by increasing my acid production. Cardiologist put me on acid med and holy COW! Came roaring right back. Went off of it, vanished again. Never forget having it. The smell.

    I had Diarrhea issues on and off for the last 5 years. Then, June 6th, I had Rotator Cuff Surgery Left Shoulder and got hammered by C-Diff from that. A bigger concern was the loss of Sodium from my system and I spent a week in the hospital for both issues. Now, 5 weeks later, I am well. Hoping my situation will last. What a 2 month nightmare I had (Lost use of left arm and had to deal with Diarrhea for weeks). Try Diarrhea one handed!!!

    Thank you Doctor, I’ve had C diff twice within 4 months. Last I had it was October. I got a colonoscopy because I just didn’t feel good even though they told me it was gone. All they found was mild gastritis. I don’t feel the same as i did before , some weeks I feel totally fine and could eat all day, and some times I just don’t feel good at all. It seems to come in waves. I really hope it does not come back. Thank you for an explanation, at least I know these symptoms aren’t my fault. I want to understand it the best I can.

      NEVER go on heartburn meds. Just makes it come back. Had acid-blocker 30 years post, came down with symptoms, sure enough, if you have a history of Diff, it will overgrow again due to low acid levels. Went off, acid went up, it cleared. Very weird!

    So how can antibiotic treatment be the answer for treating C. Diff.? Aren't antibiotics just going to make the gut flora worse and make you more susceptible to a recurrence of C. Diff.?

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  20 часов назад

      Yeah, that’s a good question. But if you don’t get rid of the C diff. It can kill you the C. Diff. also kill off you’re a good bacteria with the toxins it produces. So if you don’t use antibiotics, you could be in a worse situation. You just have to support your micro biome as best you can during the treatments

    Celery juice helped me with recovery. I’m am having xplant surgery, the Dr gives antibiotics intravenously, then wants me to take antibiotic for 7 days, I’m thinking no. Should I take my chances with infection, I am 75 and I don’t know if I could handle another round of Cdif. What do you think?

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  4 месяца назад

      Well, I can’t give you actual advice without knowing the whole story, but I think you’re right to be ultra cautious. even if you don’t have symptoms a lot of times that c diff microbe is still dormant in small amounts. There’s also risks of not taking it, so talk to your doctors to make an informed decision
