I have never thru hiked but after what you have experienced and accomplished it makes sense that going for drinks/dinner may not be satisfying at this time. Don’t beat yourself up too much for not knowing what to do with your time. Enjoy the peace, the quiet, listen to your thoughts! Should you decide to return to work sooner than later you will miss the peace and the quiet.

Sweet Sube, I like this garnet red. I agree, the all-in-one stoves/pots are overkill for distance hiking, but great for car-camping and short overnight/weekend hikes. I think it's the intention aspect of longer hikes that discount the all-in-one systems, the opposite of a car camp or short hike that is open to instant gratification.

You are back! Glad you are adjusting well. Task master…resonated a lot. I think you are on the right track with work, age and thru hiking again. Volunteer in your spare time, it’s very fulfilling. Hike your mountain for the sake of hiking and being out and keeping muscle engaged. Maybe go overseas to hike on your vacation time, that would be fun to see. Best of luck to you. 🥾🥾

A cafetiere here in the UK rather than a French press . I will be hanging about as I'm just nosy about other people's lives, especially when they are not in the UK. Interesting to hear how you are adjusting to non trail life. Birdcall and Bossba'e were also talking about the post hike hunger. Good luck in looking for a new career and hope you find a good life/ work balance that allows you to set some satisfying goals in your life. Your videos of the PCT scenery were some of the best. I miss the anticipation of seeing where you all had got to. and the stunning views. Best of luck.🙂 Dog pics please.

I am staying subscribed. One of the reasons I watch adventure videos is to see how different personalities solve problems. I see you as a organized planner. Something I also see in my 71 yr old self. Sometimes, people criticize me for that behavior. Usually a friendly criticism. Anyway, I also enjoy watching Wingit on the AT. A different lifestyle that I want to experience. Or at least add to my crazy planning self. Good luck to you. Would really like to see your dog on a video.

I’m not a doctor nor do I play one on TV but I have dealt with what I thought was a tight hamstring. I tried stretching and foam rolling etc. Nothing would get rid of it. Turns out my right glute wasn’t do the work it should and the hamstring was compensating for it. The hamstring wasn’t tight but overworked. The stretching and foam rolling was actually aggravating it. Single leg deadlifts helped me. Try watching some videos on high hamstring tendinopathy

I finally caught up as I was gone for two weeks. For the hamstring- do you stretch before and after the run as well as foam roll! The foam rolling will help a lot.
Maybe can make a sleeping set up in Ruby the Sub so can travel and sleep in your rig.

For hiker hunger, eat more meat and animal fat, i.e. bacon! The fat is what will keep you satisfied, and the meat will keep you from getting hungry. Eliminate sugars and carbs that spike your insulin and keep you wanting more. Just my suggestion.

Do you feel like working life is one chapter, and long distance hiking is another chapter that cannot be mixed?
Some jobs(I don't want to say career, because job conditions just depend on the company) are project to project with a defined schedule.
Other jobs are just a steady process where you serve a specific function so that work inputs and outputs through you.
Either way, don't let the "job" dictate your life. Be secure with your job skills that can be applied and are in demand wherever you live.
Your health, lifestyle and pursuit of hiking is most important.
