- Starfield never fails to intrigue us all. Since we first heard about it up until yesterday's update about performance modes it always seems to be a lightning rod for those who love it, hate it, and even those who claim not to care. Rumors have been flying for some time now that Starfield would eventually land on the PlayStation, but I think the best evidence we have of Starfield launching on the PlayStation is the Starfield May update Bethesda dropped yesterday.\

Simple math. The majority of gamers play on either PC or PS, not being available on the latter severely hurt the potential sales of starfield. A port just makes sense.

@@Qunarr If you want to play Starfield, buy an Xbox, otherwise you'll NEVER get to play it. Microsoft will NEVER release one of their flagship titles on a competitor console. The mere fact that you need to have an Xbox to play it, is the whole point. Likewise, if I want to play God of War, I have to purchase a PS5 (or PC good enough to run it).

It’s very possible they’ll release starfield for PlayStation because they’re losing so much money rn. 60 frames on a 2020 $500 console is unrealistic. The games are only getting more graphical not less, which means the issue will only get worse. It's honestly best to play PS5 & Series X at 1440. Unreal Engine 5 games will only prove this to be Eve truer
@@Alien_isolationist unreal engine 5 is having bad optimization issues right now, other game engines have no problem hitting 60fps without too much fidelity compromise, heck Forbidden West is the only example i need, there is no excuse not to give at least a performance option.

I see your point but an update kinda makes no sense. These fps things could be a quality of life content. I am not trying to be an Xbot, just don't think an FPS update is a good source to back up your Starfield coming to PS5 theory.

I’m so excited, I love fallout 4, and I love mass affect. Space fascinates me, I play no man’s sky but the lack of lore made it difficult to keep playing. Rn I’m plsying outerwolrds, holy it’s amazing(same guys who made fallout new vegas).
I love everything I see on starfield, if they can clean the rough edges( more modes of transportation, more enemy types, new melee weapons, also stronger melee weapons, more perks etc)

It all is connected. They monitored the conversation around the game. They saw how popular the fallout games are on PS. They apparently were planning the first 4 over a year ago. Unfortunately for Xbox fans I think people will act like this was obvious the whole time in hindsight bc so far it's lining up so perfectly, even though some less than honest marketing and messaging has been taking place.

I don't see how them adding 60 fps support for xbox means they are also porting it to PS, they have that big xpack to put out. I mean i 100% could be wrong, but people have said this about Starfield before so i just can't take it seriously this time.
30 fps being cinegraphic or an artistic choice was marketing spin in 2015 with the Order: 1886, and it's even more so now. I wonder why Xbox keeps releasing first party games at 30? Are games on Xbox harder to optimize and therefore require an extra 6 months in the oven to reach 60?

I bought Hifi Rush and loving it also buying grounded just to put my hats on ring to lure Microsoft with more money hoping they will eventually lunch all games on ps5 as well. I have invested heavily on PlayStation, when psp was released i used my college tuition to buy that handheld, now i have ps5, multiple controller, a huge game library's, so i find tough to change console. I hope xbox bring all of their games to ps5.🎉❤

I heard the rumor is that Sony said this game would have done much better on the PS5. This type of old skool gamer is more abundant or has more numbers with Playstation. I think Sony will let Xbox play the crap out of it. Let them grow out of it. And, then bring it to PlayStation when it's going to be just their crowd. I think the funniest thing that could happen is Starfield 2 being Playstation only. People on the Xbox enjoy multiplayers much much more...this type of single player game is kind of weird for XBox. Consoles in general are becoming more and more pointless. Im a PC gamer and theres no reason for me to buy either consoles because all of the games are on PC or come to PC later.

@@Sladey1601 I prefer gaming on console. Maybe it comes from being paranoid about what's loaded on my PC. But you are correct in that console hardware sales are declining gen over gen. With the ubiquity of mobile, kids these days don't seem to be getting consoles like they used to. Console manufacturers really need to do outreach to a younger audience.

I would certainly play Starfield again if it became available on the PS5. Shattered Space really does have the potential to be what Phantom Liberty was for CyberPunk. If the game is coming to PS5, and likely after the DLC launch - do you think the game would release on PS5 this holiday season, or perhaps summer of 2025? What do you think that timeline looks like post-launch for the DLC?

It's xxboxs biggest Exclusive so that alone makes it enticing. While it only sold 3 million on Xbox, it sold a whopping 10 million on PC, & will likely sell that many on PS5. There are already 55 million, soon to be 100 million PS5s, & over time, yea it can sell that many. Spiderman 2 sold 10 million in 4 months, Starfield on PS5 can absolutely sell 10 million over 4 years.

I'm glad people aren't accepting of 30FPS but I'm a PC gamer for that very reason. Now if only Dragon's Dogma 2 comes to 60FPS on consoles. And all the other 30FPS games too.

More money for micrsosoft is more money for xbox, giving more games to gamepass. Some of the "only reason I like my xbox is gamepass" crowd is looking crazy talking about leaving now if a game goes to other platforms. I sold my ps5. Had it for 2.5yrs. Last 6 months months before selling, it wasn't turned on once. Playstation eco system doesn't speak to me at all anymore & I struggle to count on one hand, exclusives I actually liked the last almost 4yrs since this gen started.
$204 a yr a for average of 108 games added & circulated on top of a 400+ game library speaks to me much more as a gamer than a few(even if that) one & done exclusives that most likely i'm not even really excited any for. I'm having way more fun playing all these games on gamepass. If you struggle to have a single game of interest added the month or multiple months of gamepass, obviously its not for you. Some people just don't understand. Its not for the gamer that tends to play a few games a year.
To each his own. Game Pass isn't for me. I don't want to buy a game only to have it come to Game Pass a few months later, or wait on the new hotness in the hopes it comes to Game Pass, or have a game leave the service before I have a chance to play it. I prefer to choose my own games from the thousands that are available, and I usually buy games on disk for the feeling of ownership it provides, which is kind of the exact opposite of what Game Pass offers. But that's just me.

@kevinrodriguez9701 Helldivers 2, Rise of Ronin, and Stellar Blade are selling well. Spiderman 2 sold 9 million, Horizons 8 million, and God of War 12 million. Just because Xbox is dead on sales, it doesn't mean Playstation. And canceling games doesn't mean financially unstable. Sony was highest in revenue 2023. Xbots need to stop acting disgruntled.
If they were going to do this there's no point of the secrecy. Microsoft has already have pissed people off. I have a PS5 and could not care less after watching dozens of videos, outlining in detail what a galactic disappointment Starfield is. They may polish it a little for PS5, but neither the stone-age Creation engine with its gazillions of loading screens, nor the lame-ass story with horrible voice acting and forgettable non-characters will change for the better. Nobody should buy this crap... a company like Bethesda doesn't deserve to be supported for this lazy, lame pile of crap.

Sony Exclusive Spiderman 2 has sold almost 50 million units. Starfield sales numbers not published. but not counting GamePass about 3 million sold & I saw it had about 10 million players 😂. Not because of the game, it's what it signals, is the complete turn and that we in PS will get Xbox games, eventually... That will end the "console war" leaving playstation the high-end home console, Nintendo the low end portable and Xbox as selling software on all but with a hardware just for the enthusiasts (like surface which no one owns vs Mac/chrome/etc but is still around) + probably yes an app for cloud.... So is not starfield per se.

agree, definitely.., Series S was the cause for the 1st delay (for cutting down their PS5 vision AND to get it run +/- smoothly on Series S 30fps).
... but as soon as it ran on Series S, no timr to waste on 60fps optimisation, on better menus, etc.., needs to be out asap
