Jaguar F-Type V6 S Stock vs Velocity AP Tune, Is It Faster Than My Pure Stage 2 BMW 335i? 0-60 MPH

- Jaguar F Type 380 HP vs 450 HP vs 500 wheel HP BMW N55 335i. Testing comparison of 0-60 mph and 0-100 mph times. We have crappy 91 octane fuel in California.
Overall I feel the velocity AP tune and pulley is a bit underwhelming compared to stock. It feels quicker, but unable to crack sub 4 seconds in the 0-60.
Jaguar F Type mods: VAP Larger crank Pulley/tune, Mina Gallery intake, custom modified OEM muffler = 450 crank HP
BMW 335i n55 mods: PS2 turbo, VRSF Catless downpipes, intercooler, BMS intake, custom e40 tune = 494 wheel HP

Nice times. Both cars sound great!
Thanks! The Jag is the best sounding car I have driven.
Thanks for the video Sal, so sad you let go of the 335i.
I miss the 335i too, but even though the Jaguar is slower in a straight line, it handles really well, has an amazing ZF 8 speed transmission, and looks awesome!
@@Sals_Garage IMO the two aren't even fair to compare outside of 0-60. Jag is an insane upgrade. Love it!!
@@dm4shooter89 Yes. The Jaguar sounds better, handles better, shifts better, looks better, etc 😂
@@Sals_Garage mans checking off EVERY box with that purchase hahaha love it
Just got a base v6 , would fancy a VAP tune only to take me from 335 to 400. Hoping the jump would be more significant from a base model at lower hp. Awesome vid though bud , thanks for showing difference !
It’s worth it for the base model 340 HP version. It also increase torque by a lot. The throttle response is instant. I have an updated 0-60 video, new record for me:

@@Sals_Garage I've just seen !!! Amazing result mate ! Defo going for it now haha
@@Ashleycb97 Enjoy!
@@Sals_Garage Great information. I too have the 340 HP version, and I just purchased the upper pulley from Mina, and I'm considering the VAP tune. However, do i need to change out the crank pulley also in order to get the overall performance gains? Thanks!
@@ivanking569 Yes, absolutely the crank pulley is needed for maxing out the power gain. The upper pully is not necessary, but it will increase your horsepower by around 5-10. The crank pully will increase by 40 hp.
Feels bad lol
Thinking about putting stage 2 turbo on my n55 E90 this winter and throwing a e30 tune.
All good, I still love the Jag. Here is my PS2 install video if you need it. ruclips.net/video/XC0hsvzxpSg/видео.html
You're gonna like the PS2 turbo with some e85 in the mix.
@@Sals_Garage I watched the whole video like twice already. Thank you for uploading it.
@@Moe_z Nice!, Good luck with the install!
i previously owned a N54 335 now looking at f type v6, i cant decide on RWD, AWD and AT/MT. would you suggest any particular mode and how does power delivery feel compared to ST2 335i?
I would recommend V6 S with the mechanical LSD. RWD is best since AWD on the V6 is not needed. It’s more for the V8 pushing 650 horsepower. AWD just ends up adding more weight.
For transmission the ZF 8 speed automatic is faster and shifts so well but manual is great if you love the experience. It will probably be worth more too.
For the 335i vs the F type, off the line the F-type shoves you back in your seat and feels fast while the 335i builds speed and pulls harder on the highway at higher speeds. 0-60 times, my F type is faster, while the 335i will win in the 1/4 mile.
Sound wise, the F-Type wins very easily. Sounds like an exotic car and the supercharger whine is awesome.

@@Sals_Garage I appreciate the insight, I've been following your channel and watched all your f type videos. Slowly being sold on it
The v6 and rwd MT is probably perfect for me but I like the idea of awd as I've never heard of it. Here in Scotland its wet alot too, is it tail happy in the wet?
Yes in the wet, the F type can get tail happy. AWD will be a lot safer in the rain and snow. Manual is also a great choice.
Glad you watch my videos. I’m trying to push my Ftype to the limits of performance.
@@Sals_Garage keep doing so. I plan on following in your foot steps, the whp is crazy on yours
Will do! Thanks a lot for reaching out. Good luck in your F-Type search!
Did you do any 60-130 pull?
Unfortunately no, I don’t have access to a drag strip. Sounds fun though.
My F-Type V8S blows my JB4 FBO 450 HP 135i into another dimension. Torque and weight determine acceleration, HP is unrelated. F=MA.
The V8 is definitely faster than the V6 F-Type. My 335i also has upgraded turbos and running E85. This video was meant to show off the battle of the V6.

My 135 is also a "convertible" which makes it 4000 lbs because BMW doesn't build true convertibles, they are chop tops with massive rectangle-stock X braces nailed onto the bottom to keep the car together, at least through warranty. Now it creaks and flex like a sonobitch. The Jag is designed correctly as a ground-up 3600 lb convertible. The F is one of the only true convertibles on the market, the coupe actually weighes more.
@@FFE-js2zp yea I really disliked how heavy the e93 convertible I had was. Even with so much performance modifications it never feels as fast as the Jaguar. Also you are right. The coupe has the heavy glass roof 😂
Not much of an improvement from stock to upgraded crank pulley/tune it seems.
Not a big difference, but it is noticeably faster and louder.
He also could possibly got the stage 1 tune aswell as there is stage 1 and 2 tune with a smaller crank lowers pulley and a small crank supercharger pulley and there is also now a e85 tune aswell.
Try Dragy, that'll give you accurate times.
