great job, keep up the good work. i learn so much from your videos :)))))
Thanks 👍👍
This series has been a great tutorial, very educational - thanks!
Thank you again. I did this this with a flightline 1200mm. Spitfire. I used the e flight 1.2m spitfire settings. I reduced the gains by 10%. It fly’s on rails. Thanks
Cool, I downloaded all the models to my radio, but I didn't know they also had the models for the RX itself. This will be nice for when I'm redoing the Opterra 2 m. Thanks Dave.
I think you need one more video for when they are slow to put model files on their web site. Like the SU-30. There has to be a way I can connect my cable to mine (SU-30 with 636 safe) and duplicate that model to put in say a Freewing F-15 without using a preset file from spectrum.
Not a bad idea. It’s not hard at all to extract the .SRM file from a stock receiver.
Excellent Series! Thank you for all of the hard work that you did! I can only guess how many hours (LOTS) that this took to do. Very concise and easy to follow instructions that were very helpful. With these videos, I was able to program the new stock AR636B Rx that I bought and use it in the airplane that I have without any problems. I did have one question. A friend has an AR636A Rx and wants to erase ALL of the AS3X programming on it and asked me for help. Do you know if this can be done with the Spektrum PC programming software? On the Internet, there seems to be a lot of confusion and controversy on whether this can or cannot be done for a Spektrum AR636A Rx that comes in a BNF model from Horizon Hobbies. If you have any advice or comments to share, that would be appreciated.
Yep, they key is, as long as the receiver your friend has is able to be registered, he should be able to reflash the firmware. Using the Spektrum Programmer software you can just create a new model with everything turned off / gains all the way down and it will behave like a brand new box stock receiver.
Dave I went to Set Ups and Downloads in order to click on Receiver Configurations, and Spektrum has removed everything off of there in regards to all the different models.....but still keep up the awesome vids, the info is still very much appreciated.
Interesting. Did you go to the Spektrum site, or Horizon Hobby? Maybe their servers are down? That would be worth a call to Horizon
@@TheRCAirMarshall Ya that was directly from the Spektrum website....maybe temporary, I don't know.
Air Marshal, those files disappeared from Spektrum website. Any other options?
I have them on my Google Drive. Will post a link when I get home from the field!
Well I found your post on Facebook. Gotem! Thanks!
Good deal! Let me know if you have any questions!
Hi... I’m using the Bluetooth module and the spektrum programming app on my IPad....I can get everything to connect but cant get the pre made models to show up. I downloaded all the files and how do you import them into the app. Thanks
As far as I am aware, the .SRM files that Horizon makes available for the BNF planes can only be loaded using the Spektrum Programmer Windows PC app.
Hi....Ok thanks will buy the pc cable....Thanks for all the great videos
i want to do this on my fms super scorpion 90mm ........wonder what file would be close......i just dont trust the equipment it has installed because i am unfamiliar with it. it has the hobby angel stuff and im seriously hooked on that safe switch.......
Hello Dave, thanks for this really great series which I found very clear, logical and easy to follow through. I live in the uk. I am relatively new to modern rc, having returned to the hobby about a year ago, after 40 years - things have changed so much! I do have one question. Why do you say that dual rates and expo should be set up from the transmitter, whereas John Adams in the Spektrum programming series, as I understand it, says that everything should be set up in the receiver? I would be very interested in an explanation of your advice.
James Tennant-Eyles I basically frame that advice off of Spektrum’s own practice. I know their video series mentions it, but in practice the model files for Bind N Fly models from Horizon don’t have d/r or expo programmed in the receiver. I have found that it doesn’t matter at all. I like having the flexibility of doing it in the transmitter.
Many thanks Dave, I’ll go with your advice. I like the idea of setting up dr and expo in the tx.
I think they took off the button to download the files, why is Spektrum like that with its customers? Is there any other place to download the files, I am looking for Extra 300? Thank you.
Hey. I can email it to you if you want.
@@DonsRCAirplanes Hi Don, that would be awesome and much appreciated, does your version has the SAFE included? Here is my email jb@0101planet.com, thank you again, that is very nice of you.
@@jabe5895 Just sent you all.....Extra 300 is in there...I believe it's the safe version
