Excellent, you explained it in simple terms and made sure you pointed out every step of the way slowly so I could follow along and not get lost using a different window on my computer. This is exactly what I was looking for. I hope you continue making other instructional videos in the same precise and slow manner, this one was very easy to follow.
What about starting with the planes that you sell the most of? Turbo timber evo, aeroscout? Surely those files would be used more than the eratix? Can I request the commander be one to do?
Latest update of the files is from July 16. Does it really still have your attention? For owners of a AS3X+ receiver the best thing to do is download and install the old AS3X files? What is the difference?
I just bought a AR637T ASX3+, my guess I do not have to use the programmer just downloaded the preset for the Decathlon with ASX3+ to my iX14 radio and just bind it correct?
I've got an E-filte Viper 90, a few years old. It has an AR637TA. I updated my Tx to 4.0.0A. I updated the Rx to 3.01.03. I then loaded the AS3X+ Rx Preset for the Viper 90 into the Rx from the Spektrum Programmer and then loaded the Tx Preset from the Rx into a new Model on my NX10. I do not have any new menu items...e.g. Nose Wheel Stabilization. I then Reset the Rx from Forward Programming, and put the Preset back into the Rx. Still no menus. I'm wondering if the Preset hides all the new menu items.
Note: If the plane does not support specific features of the new AS3X+ then those menus under Forward Programming will be hidden. E.g. The Viper 90 does not support Nosewheel Stabilization nor Hand Launch Assist and so those menus will not be displayed when using the Preset files. I would guess that the Eratix might support Hand Launch Assist so that menu item might be visible. It certainly will not support Nosewheel Stabilization and so that menu item will not be displayed. I've confirmed this with Spektrum.
Why is Spectrum Programmer software "beta" if it is what is used in production? You want us to use it but you don't want to officially release it?? Version 3.9 yet beta. Makes no sense.
Incomplete tutorial for beginners, did not explained if the receiver should be binded first to the model before connecting to the programmer app? Then when the receiver is done updating with the preset model do you bind again to the model? What adjustments need to be done afterwards, SAFE settings? Assign a switch for SAFE? Please do a step by step tutorial, do not expect everyone to be an expert. I bought the AR637T with ASX3+ and I am trying to connect it to my iX14 radio.
what exactly does this do? just set the as3x settings to suit to model? there isnt much to set you could just have the figures written out and we can input ourselves?
It configures the AS3X+ gains, Stop Lock / Release Rate, Priority, Receiver orientation, etc. for that specific aircraft and essentially saves quite a bit of time and eliminates the possibility of skipping over something accidentally. :)
“Ready to fly in no time”. I’m computer illiterate. I thought I could buy the HH carbon cub s 2 1.3m with NX8+ transmitter and just download the file with the transmitter on WiFi. Now THAT would be nice. I am still loving the new plane. Just looking for an easy way to switch from my rtf Tx to my nice NX8+.
You certainly can do that (no wifi needed) with the Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m. This video is for importing an AS3X+ (new stabilization firmware) preset model file, for which the receiver in the Carbon Cub S 2 does not support, nor does it necessarily need. For your Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m, in the Model Select menu you can select "Add New From Template" and then "AcroSAFE.NSPM". This will load a SAFE model file that is configured much like the RTF transmitter for your Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m. All you need to do is bind the transmitter to the Carbon Cub S 2 and you are ready to fly! :)
LOL, it has been out for months. This is typical of HH / Spektrum. Not doubting the update in tech (several others have updated gyros in a similar way) their follow up is poor and I bet not much better for existing models in 12 months time.
We are aware. As stated in the video, more will be coming as our pilots continue to fly AS3X+ on various Horizon Hobby aircraft in order to create these preset model files. This process takes a significant amount of time and testing for each model. :)
@@SpektrumRCvideos I wish the AS3X gains were less sensitive so that 0.25X and 0.5X wouldn’t be necessary. I never could use 2X or 4X on anything. I think having 5 gain levels and having to use 0.5X is ridiculous. I liked the AS3X gains on the AR636 better, but the SAFE gains were about twice too sensitive. I’d rather use 35 than 18, so I always change the multiplier from 100 to 50 using a text editor.
@@miksterr If they'd quit jacking with the gain algorithms, they could just copy the gains from the previous versions to the new ones. Now they've added 0.25X and 0.5X because 1X is too sensitive. That's absolutely ridiculous. Heading hold used to work great in the AR636, but in the Smart receivers, the heading hold gain can't be more than 5 or 10 percent even though you're running 30 to 50 percent for AS3X. I wish John Adams was still with us. Whoever replaced him is totally lost.
Update process is still far too hard for a lot of typical users - therefore they will not get the benefits. Until this is resolved Spektrum will always be behind.
It might take a little bit for first-time users to become familiar with the process, but they will quickly find that process to be pretty easy as they use it more. :)

When will they have more than 3 receiver files?
How soon is soon for more models? two weeks and nothing new added the google drive yet....

Aeroscout is hobbyzone. (Yea, i know🤷♂️). C Cub has a flight controller 🤷♂️

What is the difference?
Gains under AS3X+ are different than AS3X.
& more adjustable with ix txs & the update. At least my ix14 does.
Gains are 2x for plus versus standard.

Is it possible to update the firmware of older AS3X receivers? I’m referring to the ones that were programmed with AS3X app…
