As a HUGE fan of 99/00 SCV, this show scratched me right where I itch. This battery was the living embodiment of East Coast drumming. Harder, faster, denser. Incredible stuff.
@@drummersnare6276 yeah I feel that but I mean in sports refs are still on the field and those are arguably more dangerous. I just feel like they could have balanced hearing parts but not getting in the middle of forms more before they did away with it.
@@bloxx5114 refs are not on the field, they’re on the sidelines. A ref doesn’t run around in the middle of the football field dodging players, they are on the sides. Also there’s much more movement and people on the field in drum corps than in sports.
@@drummersnare6276actually there is a referee by the linebackers and towards the secondary in the middle of the field. There is always a ref that’s on the field in sports
Man, you can tell that even the judges miss running around on the field with the battery! Clearly, Prosperie was always living his best life out there, and you can see the passion and care for what he does. These integrated audio/visual vids were an amazing idea! On field judges were true titans of the activity
Historically one of my favorite drum books of all time with a show that doesn't really do much for me. As a life-long Cadets fan, I only have 2013 on repeat for the percussion 😅
That’s too bad the overall show didn’t do much for you because it was probably the most masterful musical score ever put on a football field. The GE music judging tapes for this show were incredible. Check out Joe Allison’s tape from the week before finals and it might help you appreciate the overall show more: ruclips.net/video/UuPCQITJvAI/видео.htmlsi=fanANtthBiy8lv23. And yeah, the percussion was bomb too.
Man... seeing this in person inspired me like no other. So much confidence from each member within that line. The sound quality was nuts.

Here for the double WOW’s
I miss when judges could be on the field :(
Everyone does 😂
It’s good they stopped it. It was dangerous for the judges as well as the performers.
