The arcade game was WAY too expensive. I remember having to add tokens each quarter, instead of just for the whole game altogether. 😡
Wasn’t it per half? Still, yes, certainly sucked
It was $2.00 per entire game, plus you'd have to pay for overtime as well. If it was more than that, the arcade definitely was overcharging. Definitely a quarter eater if you didn't know how to deal with the rubber banding.

Now the first time I played NBA Jam TE was at a donut shop in the 90s.
Since my Jr High School was across the street every morning before the bell rang students would surround the arcade cabinet and played the game.
But not before handling “our morning sugar rush” I would buy jelly & custard filled donuts and down them with a large cup of Mountain Dew.
After that would put my quarter on the screen and wait for my turn and when it was my turn I would do codes.
Like Big Head mode and sometimes I would hear the bell ringing but didn’t care I continued playing and when I finished went to a friend’s house before the cops came.
Great times growing up I was a knucklehead!

I use to play NBA Jam TE on Xband back in the day.
Man, Kerri Hoskins got several checks from Midway in the '90s--Mortal Kombat, War Gods, AND NBA JAM (TE). I believe she was affiliated with Playboy, as well.
She was also in Revolution X as Helga (The antagonist)

I had the Sega version also but didn't know about the MK characters I also had NBA Hangtime the problem was when NBA Live 99 and 2000 came out which could do what the NBA Jam series did the series became a afterthought also when Live 2000 added Michael Jordan back I made 95-98 Bulls.

The home ports didn't have the MK characters. The second revision of TE removed them per request of the NBA due to the controversy sounding Mortal Kombat

Never got into this as a kid, I wanted to, loved basketball at the time but it always felt completely arbitrary when the ball went in in the hoop

You did, it was near the beginning, when the team is on fire I push an opponent and they get doused in flames. It’s quick.

The Oct 10 in the Kerri Hoskins unlock made me think that was her birthday which I thought was cool cause it’s my birthday but I wiki’ed it and she was born Feb 20th, wonder if there was significant to using 10 10 or if it was just random

after playing these on my 1up the hangtime game has manageable rubberbanding. its still there and a bitch but u can work around it way better than the jam games.
