The infamous bushcrafted rake is back!!! AWESOME vid!!!
looks like your camera has some autobrightening. just put yourself in center of frame. with you off to side it darkened. but hey. its life and I didnt mind you in the dark. ❤
Curious as to how slippery that miss might've been on those rocks?
It didn't physically appear wet, but moss could be tricky for footing if it breaks apart after stepping on it.
I miss seeing his bushcraft rake
Doing anything for the solar clisp?
I slept under a rock over hang once. The location kept me out of the wind and the over hang kept me dry. Was there for three days because of the weather. This was during my hitchhiking days. Another Outstanding A.F video my friend.
Finding something like that is Perfect
Still the only Guy on RUclips that i have seen that cuts himself a rake when he needs one.....All the others spend hours using their feet to brush away debris. That's how far ahead the Corporal is from others.
And always K.I.S.S.
Also “completed the thought” by taking the rain forecast into consideration. While not a sure thing, matching that factor against the draining of the rock wedge he made the outcome more under his control. The Corporal will survive and thrive!
I've used a sapling in similar
fashion before. That's very
smart to not stir through leaf
piles with the hands. Around
here you WILL find a copperhead more often than
not.
@@maxpinson5002
Well, on the intro vid, there was some kind of snake that made an appearance.
No idea what species though
The ones I saw looked like
regular old garter snakes with
that lengthwise striping.
I've seen enough of the bad
ones in my lifetime to be extra
cautious
The rake is back! LOLOL…best tool ever😂
Not only do you get popcorn, but a pan/plate with a foil cover! I'm sold!
I'm so glad people are starting to go back to Hatchet and a knife that's literally what I was taught in Scouts, Hatchet and a knife.
Takes me back to the '70s with our "fort in the woods". Remembering the past with building a future.
I'm 70 and I have not seen Jiffy Puff for decades lol. Good to see it back. Good video. thanks.
Sorry about the headlamp. Ive always followed the "2 is 1, 1 is none" philosophy. and carry a spare light source. (A penlight is always in my pocket)
I learn something every time I watch these knowledge is power in the Corporal is nice enough to give us the information that might save all of our lives one day
Another awesome video my friend. Thanks and Happy Easter to you and your family.
Your typical, no nonsense approach is refreshing. Another practical, well thought out vid. Classy as always.
Where I grew up, I had boulders like that everywhere. I used to build shelters between them under them and beside them. This really brought back memories.
Glad to see the rake make a return.
Having worked with Search and Rescue here in Snohomish County, Washington, in my experience no one comes to the conclusion that they are lost until it starts to get dark. That doesn't give them the three or four hours you state is needed to find, design, and construct a shelter before dark. Throw in a twisted ankle or broken leg you you have a serious situation.
LO
I grew up in that county, and did a lot of camping in the surrounding area. There are so many resources to survive there, but without this knowledge you could be doomed.
Happy Easter 🐰🐣 everyone be safe have fun
Very similar looking bush we have up here, only a bit thicker. If yer not going up, yer going down. And down means muskeg and moose poop, lol. Just a warning, some of those rock faces can become waterfalls when it starts to rain. Don't ask how I know.
I don't know why, I was happy to see the return of the branch rake.
Happy Resurrection Day, Corporal! What a cool spot to build a shelter! I love this video!!!! Loved that you even brought camping popcorn!!! Exciting news, too!!! Awesome as always!!! Love our amazing Corporal!!! Keep on shining!!! 👏🏼🤗🏕
I liked the whole talking into the fading of the light. Made it feel more personal.
Yes!! The return of the infamous Rake!! Great scenerio/video
Awesome me and the kids whenever we'd go camping always took some
Jiffy pop super easy to do over a fire if you're careful I do recommend gloves for the kids if they try to do it though😂
Also 100 I loved cooking Popcorn with vegetable oil Over the stove and then use Just bottled honey and shake it in a paper bag to make like a caramel popcorn with honey Little salt Anything seasoning So good!
The rake is one of the best tips I have used from the corporal. My kids thought I was a genius. 😂
If wives were just like kids... 😂
Man that’s just so cool man. Thanks for sharing! God bless ❤️🔥
Finally the bushcraft rake is back! Love it.
Jiffy Pop in the woods! Outstanding!
I've noticed that about LED lights. The first ones it was the LEDs that would crap out. Now it seems that the LEDs are fine, it's the switches that wear out.
Outstanding af video again Shawn Happy Easter to everyone 🎉
I absolutely love popcorn when out camping/hiking! I normally will make bacon in the morning for breakfast/lunch, reserve the fat and make popcorn with it. OMG it's the best popcorn you'll ever have!
Chem light sticks inside a empty mag light great light duct tape with peep hole for chem light flash light works great
Nothing better than seeing the Corporal AF Rake make an appearance
😊
One of the best parts of your videos is “Coffee Time”!! Keep em coming brother.
1stSgt Fletch
recently found your channel and I love it ! 82nd Vet here.
I think these type of improv shelters are this channel at its best.
Those rocks look like some old world megalith or architecture.
Great video!
yet the views are the lowest in 4 years, but thanks tho
Morning Corp.
Happy Easter Shawn I like how you have used the natural surroundings what a great wind break well stay safe.
Spooky phone light? Popcorn? Just need a ghost story.
I appreciate you doing these videos. Informative, and relaxing. While inspiring heading out to be in nature
Best of luck for this production. And Condolances to the headlamp. It will be missed
Was nice to see you in my recommendations for a change.
Corporal, that "Chicken Foot" Rake does a great job on the leaves for your browse bed. Within 20 miles of my home in Northeast Alabama, there is a similar rock formation atop Lookourt Mountain near Little River Canyon. For years I've considered checking that out for an emergency shelter. Thanks for another great video, & I hope that you had a blessed Easter.
Neat! I was born in Northeast Alabama. Good memories.
Thanks for the video
Happy to see the return of the famous field broom.
Most unusual camp spot, but you bring out its glory in stealth ,windfree, adaptability to be rainfree ,warm with a fire...you always find a way...aint no fooling on this day
Loved seeing the old rake and jiffy popcorn again. I want you to know I rewatch your past videos all the time, still love them!
Yessir I remember stove top popcorn with fondness. After a while it became my job to do the shaking, born during WWII it was mid fifties when I was old enough for that job.
Tough luck on the headlamp, Corporal! Silver lining, though, the darkness lends well to the “Corporal in a Cave” vibe.
Outstanding! “…and the nominees for best documentary, short film are…” Godamnit, some of your best filmmaking. I love a bit of kit, some problem solving and the return of the bushcraft rake!! Keep up the great work!
The glorious return of the rake. 😊
Looking forward to your online classes I always learned something from your videos you're very fine teacher thank you for all your effort
The Corporal Rake....Back by popular demand
Your light is a good example of 1 is none and 2 is one. It's also an example of having an unforseen problem and working through it.
Still doin the business! Don't stop! Reminds me of your older stuff combined with the newer! Keeping it fresh is a grind!
I put my Hardcore Hammer hatchet to use last weekend. Old style as I preferred that one. It made quick work limbing a small downed dead tree for firewood. The hammer head pits were a bit agressive for the tent peg heads but no biggie. It's nice and sharp out of the box. Hardcore Hammers included a Band-Aid with the thank you card. Dumbass me needed it not by checking sharpness but inadvertently nicking my hand while inspecting the other parts. 🙃
I got royally bent over on currency exchange and import duty but still like the purchase. No comparable item locally with that steel and hammer.
I appreciate the fact that you got a garter snake on video and then turn around in the next scene with a don't tread on me shirt. 😂😂😂
Gen X the last of the survivors that's for sure nobody does it like the Corporal cause he's the man love the video keep fighting and stay strong love ya Corporal
The rake is back, been a while since we've seen one.
Great shelter!👍
Snake, Chili mac and Jiffy Pop doesn't get any better
Wow...I was surprised to see a snake this early in the spring. 😮
Brother, watching you make that rake, and adapting your surroundings to fit your needs, makes me proud you are a fellow Marine. Semper Fi and keep on keepin' on.
Thanks man. Good to see the “rake” is part of your standard kit.
My EDC for hiking includes a very comprehensive medical kit as well as a trauma kit. Hammock with bug screen, 10x10.5 Free Shoulders tarp, thermal sleeping bags and two personal thermal tent. That's my shelter
chili with a brand name of aftershock is some kind of foreshadowing
Good ole Jiffy Pop! Haven't had that in years!
Jiffy Pop!, now that is old school Corp K. Used to find the discarded pans in campfire rings all over. Living between a rock and a hard spot ain't great but, Mommy Nature throws many ready made or close to it shelters at us if we look. Nice video as usual. See ya soon.
Great scenario! This happens more than many people realize. I always have my compass on me and iI never enter the woods unprepared for a sleepover with Squatch and the gang, JIC! Great ideas and tips here as always!
Happy Easter! Real life survival; gear can fail. 2 is 1, 1 is none. Thanks for the great videos Corporal.
I like the rock camp videos you have done lately. Maybe you can discus the dangers of rock camping. A lot of people in Canada end up with slabs of rock falling on them when sleep under rock shelves. Nice rake by the way. Wish I had thought that up on at least one occasion. Lol...
Note to self.....mandatory survival item, Jiffy Pop popcorn! Semper Fi brother!
Don't forget the deck of cards for when your lost. Start playing solitaire, and someone will show up and say"that will play there"
Low light without the headlamp is no problem. No worries! Thx for the video
Jiffy- pop thats definitely old school
There's the broom/rake! Looks like it's going to be a good one!
Now THIS is the kind of camping I do. Use the environment to your advantage. Keep it up bub
Fantastic video Shawn, I have been looking forward to the rake appearing again. Take care, Jeff.
Outstanding AF Corp and God Bless America!!🇺🇸🙏❤️💪🇺🇸
This was a great shelter using what was already out there great video.
The low light video was actually neat
On line class room. Can’t wait. Great 👍.
Thank you. You provide the skill instruction. Mother nature provides the tools. Outstanding. God is good. Blessings 🙏🙏🙏
Great episode looking forward to the next one
Happy Easter 🐣
Thank you for another Sunday video!! ❤
I WANT TO BUY A HANDMADE RAKE FROM THE CORPORAL! ALL AMERICAN PRODUCTS ARE THE BEST. I used this method before I knew corporal must be instinctive. ❤
Jiffy Pop… classic! Man we’re old 🤣
Outstanding shelter
Great video. Nice rock shelter. Looks like a nice place. Always love me some Jiffy Pop popcorn. Thanks for all you do.
Happy Easter
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, Corporal.
Thank you for another holiday made exceptional by watching your video. I appreciate your time and effort making this for us. Happy Easter CPL.
I agree, you got good service from the light.
14:30 I use the wok. Mine has a domed lid, makes heaps of popcorn. The rest exactly the same.👍
No headlamp redundancy? I am disappointed. Good to see you had the skills to over come the lack of a flashlight. Little things like that can lead some to panic which will kill you faster than almost anything else in the woods.
Corps I hope you're doing well!! 🙏🏽 thanks for another awesome video
Getting it done👍✅
This is my favorite CC videos, where he's out building shelters in the rocks.
This camp site even comes with it's very own guard snake!! 🐍 😁
Omg,,what a beautiful & place to camp Survival time..Rambo style
Cool video. I hope you revisit that spot. So many possibilities.
I really appreciate the reviews of different just add water meals, thank you
Last ditch hack for a headlamp remove the deteriorated rubber and try a twig. It won't be water resistant and probably voids a warranty, but you might get light. Mine did
voids the warranty, i have contacted them and will have a new one on tuesday
Yeah you made a rake!! I’ve been waiting for that!!
