MG you say "The more I share, the more I get back." I feel you. Back in the day we called this Tribal Knowledge. To your point if none of us pass on what we have learned to others then we effectively take this knowledge to the grave with us. If we don't pass these things on to the younger generation than we fail them and ourselves as well. You pass on so much information to everyone freely and ask very little in return. I have learned so much from watching your videos and live streams and I look forward to each notification of a new video. I have purchased some of your sound packs also and they are pretty dope. So keep doing what you do, you are making my musical future a better place for real. Thank you for all of your wisdom. I think I know what you"re about. Peace
Thank you MG. You are one of the kindest, knowledgeable, conscientious, profound and spiritual producers on the net. I don't always agree with what you say(and there is no need for that), but I always enjoy the way you say it. You spread the knowledge(what ever it may be: spirituality, production, life...) with such kindness that it makes me feel humble just listening to you. Even though you are young in this incarnation, but your wisdom shows that you have been here before. Thank you for everything you do, and , please, continue doing what you do.
Every time I think of something I want to do, The perfect video pops up on my feed. Strangeness! Thank you for this. I was going about coloring my own samples wrong.
I don’t see how you only have 15K followers? Your tutorials are reliably some of the best out there. You get in depth and you don’t add bullshit to what your talking about like some YT vids do, where they just make a video because they get paid to make them and it’s some bullshit topic that nobody cares about and is barely relevant. Thanks man, you’re doing good work and we appreciate it!
Bro.... Thank you! I've been for the past 2 years. I've been living by that same philosophy. I learn so much, when I teach or give game when needed.... which all the time. Lol. Much respect fam.
Great video! I was looking for something like this a few days ago and then this just randomly popped up. Instantly subscribed, gonna watch a few more videos, thank you for this!
Sir, let me tell you i watched a video from your channel once and i was like oh this dude has a lot of good points, but what keeps me watching all of your videos is not just the high quality contents of the Channel, but it's like "if i was this guy i would exactly say something like this". Your chain of thoughts about music production are clear and satisfiying. Well done sir!
I was actually thinking about doing a vocal sample kit. So glad you mentioned that! I was actually gonna hit you up about it once I get my mic set up again...
Philly Motown Soul... Good Idea. My holy grail string sound has always been the Marvin Gaye stuff (What's Going On, I Want You) - ahhhhhhhhh!!!! I'm making my Christmas list early. Santa betta come wit it! Lol
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You inspired me to carry out an idea I had in mind, but was struggling just to start. Also, I just started following you on social media and I would love to see you post more previews of things that you are working on. Like you did with the posts on Instagram about Studio One 4. Thank you and sorry for the long comment.
Late to the party on this one but you're dropping some stone cold truth around the 5 minute mark. It's been my experience that the most skilled musicians are also the most willing to help out and teach people. Whatever the genre.
Game Changers. Time consuming than a MaaaFaaa! but its effectiveness is where the gem is hidden.well worth it, I appreciate it. Respect Da Process #KeepBangin!
Bk Banga youll get fast at it. If i was smart...i would start doing this in bulk. Like make 10 on a rainy day...flip em throughout the week. Next week study a new genre...repeat. After a while ill have 100 samples and maybe even more beats. Because serato lets us blend samples too 🔑🔑
Ive only gotten serious about logic in terms of mixing and setting up sessions. I didn't "push" hard enough to hack it or use it for producing - thats the only thing. Logic had the same problem reason and many others have - "ghost channels" is a deal break for me...
Man! This dude's brain works. This music is not my thing but horses for courses. The processes are the same and the tools and the knowledge. If you can't learn something from MG The Future ... it's not his fault! Don't anybody dare to stop me from subscribing haha!!!
Thank you sir grabbing that spectrum mapper. I swear I’m in a creative utopia right now lmao as long as my computer don’t crash. You’ve also figured out how to streamline your wild workflow. Congrats lol
Darius Burt I figure, universe will open that door if I keep pushing myself to do everything I can do with what I got..this old 2011 iMac keeping me in the game...but there's so much more to do, when the workspace is on point
Ha same here, I finally went and bought a legit studio desk so hopefully that helps. The roll your on now, it'll be sooner than you think. Also, now...I can make my sample packs.
Dope video as always.. but can u use this technique for mixing a whole track? Since it carves spaces for everything a novice mixer (such as my self) can just get the levels right and import stems into this ... do ur thang and then export out? Not sure if that work but .. that’s how I’m looking at it besides the make ur own samples stuff...
Wow bro thanks for the gems. Quick question I use reason but I don't have the spectrum app or do you think I could sidechain the vinyl hiss effect with the lead itself? I use the Ichen K. Carve effect, and I think this may work if you set it to carve out certain frequencies of the vinyl noise when the lead hits those frequencies. Just curious what you think.
skyhighbeatz22 goodhertz Vulf or wow only really...paired with decimort or similar. That's the hardware magic in a nutshell. However, when we look at pricing...you can find an old sampler or sp...comparable
So what if I want to be like MG or make an MG type beat (you're not teach me stuff you use) that's gonna be pretty darn hard? Lol. Great video brother! Always appreciate it. It's nice to say you teach things that you don't necessarily use because everything I learn I found a way for me to tweak it and make it work for me!! ✌🏽💯
+Macho what i do..honestly is much simpler. The hacks i keep for myself..are common sense and preference. Likely apparent already...but its best kept assumed. Else...alot of things i teach is part of me..just not currently 🙏💯
Christian Z. Not too many apps in this field. The others are twice as much and don't have that feature yet. Someone said izotope iris synth may be close (it's reasonable price) - but it's a synth and not an editor
MG The Future well I guess both. Let’s say we decided to start making are own samples and we had a keyboard player guitar etc. what would the steps be ( not saying the exact brands models ) but what type of gear would we need to record it and how would the steps be?
No different then what I do in the box. Only switching out the fake for real. Atleast In how I imagine it. The gear you choose will certainly reflect the era you are inspired by. There’s sites and magazine articles about what those tools would be for a given band or label
MG The Future alright thanks I was more so talking about g Koop and frank dukes as far as era goes also do you have links to what you’re talking about?
Thats what G Koop And Frank Do. G Koop has the vintage instruments and training in blue notes jazz. And Frank has real session musicians, rhodes and guitars. Links? Not on standby, just what I've absorbed over time. Sound on Sound breaks down music a lot. Equip board lists a lot of gear producers use. And of course podcasts and youtube interviews of whoever you are researching, etc etc
P Roh yeah bro 🙏 I left out two steps due to CPU issues.l.but my main issue is sound selection, I need to find some stellar REs...and use the midi in Reason instead
The Roland SP404. It's a sampler / drum machine. It has a mode called "lofi" that downsamples your sounds - grainy and filtered. Also has some great FX, commonly heard in lofi beats on youtube / Spotify
Keyscape is really nice, definitely something I want to get at some point. Even their demo videos are amazing, like with Greg Philliganes. And of course the Vulf boys, Jack Stratton and Joey Dosik. Part of me wants to buy a real Rhodes... the rest of me wants to get Keyscape and not spend as much money or take up all that space.
LOL - Im such a mediocre player that this Roland Concerto is way more than I'd ever need. And thats not including the Reason EPs and Pianos. If I could PLAY..it would be keyscape and 8dio easily..
Keyscape is the best to me. I love it and Omnisphere and Trillian. So for me I wanted the three to be my one and only. I don’t have to get a ton of other pianos, synths, and bass sounds. It’s the best of the best in one investment.
Haha to you it might sound exotic, to me it sounds exactly like ‘Garden of peace - Lonnie-Liston Smith’. Its one of the most sampled tracks is Hiphop ever. No disrespect ofcourse, i just thougt you might want to check it out :p.
Thanks. Yeah peeps mention it a lot.,.i hear it's good as money. I'm just team goodhertz atm...was the first I bought. And later got the hardware stuff, so don't even need more....cup is full
Now I want, SpectralLayers Pro 5 so bad... Ur videos coast me money MG (LoL)
Stèf Han 🤔 my videos save time and make producers productive and effective *** 😂🙏💯
Just kidding!!!
Stèf Han me too 🙏
Stèf Han yeah MG needs to get a fat check from all of the software he be putting producers and engineers on. Lol
LMAO. I'm so greatful to know this guy tho, everytime great values!

100 percent
It is true. Teaching someone how to do something is one of the best ways to learn that thing
Watching all your older videos man, I can't thank you enough for all that you do. 🙏🏿
Thank you MG. You are one of the kindest, knowledgeable, conscientious, profound and spiritual producers on the net. Bro.... Thank you! I've been for the past 2 years. I've been living by that same philosophy. I learn so much, when I teach or give game when needed.... which all the time. Lol. Much respect fam.

Philly Motown Soul... Good Idea. My holy grail string sound has always been the Marvin Gaye stuff (What's Going On, I Want You) - ahhhhhhhhh!!!! I'm making my Christmas list early. Santa betta come wit it! Lol
Candice Famber 😂😂😂
u can put the scream 4 in parallel to make a less intense distortion effect with a line mixer in reason
Honestly thanks man
Appreciate you too, for coming by!

Which platform do you mean? on IG?
Yes. I believe you posted some short videos reacting or commenting about Studio One 4. I think those snippets are great.
Ah! Makes sense...will do
MG, you're a really deep dude. I appreciate all the insight and gems (not necessarily just the technical, also the philosophical side)!
+TheThrice GreatOne appreciate it 💯💯💯
Late to the party on this one but you're dropping some stone cold truth around the 5 minute mark.
It's been my experience that the most skilled musicians are also the most willing to help out and teach people. Whatever the genre.
Yes sir been working my own samples thanks to melodyne
+tmathis07 🔑🔑🔑💯
Just subscribed.
Nice content.
Bit depth and sample rate all standard when making samples?
Word. Nowadays, the game is to be told to be sold. Always leave better than I was after watching an MG vid.
Real talk. I always learn or remember something.
Game Changers. Time consuming than a MaaaFaaa! but its effectiveness is where the gem is hidden.well worth it,
I appreciate it.
Because serato lets us blend samples too 🔑🔑
Gems. that DSP is waves ?
Plugin Boutique
yea I found it.. pretty penny on that one.
thats whats up fam. thanks. I'll look into it.I appreciate it.
I wish you did some of these videos on Logic, either way good stuff bro i keep learning more and more from you so thank you 🙏🏾
Ive only gotten serious about logic in terms of mixing and setting up sessions. I didn't "push" hard enough to hack it or use it for producing - thats the only thing. Logic had the same problem reason and many others have - "ghost channels" is a deal break for me...
MG The Future i never even thought about it like that.. shows how much i know about production. Keep up the good work bro!
Nah man, you may never need it. ITs a side effect of when and how i learned - thats all. Thanks for tuning in tho!
Darius Burt thanks 🙏 as far as workflow...there's two things missing, and I really need a better mac to handle it
Yea I feel you, I'm still on my MacBook from 2012 and even with upgrades I still get cpu issues.
Darius Burt 💯💯💯
had to pause @ 7:51 to jot this comment. mg, you're a real one.
+gray appreciate it.🙏💯
gray I felt the same way! I didn’t even hear any production info yet but knew I just heard a gem 💎
Im gonna be doin' exactly that as an artist: sample packs and projects(lps and eps)
Reyhan Joseph you sing?
I rap but imma work on that singing voice of mine(which is sorta something).
This sample is DOPE so is the Drake Scary hours one you did for MM. You might want to put out a mini pack of just your youtube original samples.
DJ Chosen One thinking about that for my website soon...thanks, imma start setting them aside 💯
yo bro I love you man
🙌
Dope video as always.. but can u use this technique for mixing a whole track? Since it carves spaces for everything a novice mixer (such as my self) can just get the levels right and import stems into this ... do ur thang and then export out? Not sure if that work but .. that’s how I’m looking at it besides the make ur own samples stuff...
Technically, yes. Sorta how is discussed the stems
Up until this I just blended them with EQ. So it still works either way. This is just more true so to speak..especially if I'm giving or selling them
Would you recommend goodhertz for a more recommend vst to emulate this vinyl sounds and wobbles??
skyhighbeatz22 goodhertz Vulf or wow only really...paired with decimort or similar.
+Macho what i do..honestly is much simpler. The hacks i keep for myself..are common sense and preference. Likely apparent already...but its best kept assumed. Else...alot of things i teach is part of me..just not currently 🙏💯
I'm in #studymode lol
How do you do this shit with stock plugin
It took me months to realize the sample was inspired from the Dead Presidents II sample
I got U... ever, ever, everrrrrr again... EVER!!!!
Stèf Han 😂💯
Any alternatives that are budget friendly for Spectral Layers?
Christian Z. Not too many apps in this field. The others are twice as much and don't have that feature yet. Someone said izotope iris synth may be close (it's reasonable price) - but it's a synth and not an editor
Did you use melodyne to get that sample. Then put in in serum
Not usually. Most times if I use melodyne, I look at the scale and chord degrees...and just play them. Then hack the rest In piano roll.
💡💡💡💡
J Budge 🙏🙏🙏💎🔑
What's the best way to achieve this sound without those plugins?
Tons of plugins now...I don't do it without em. I also got a real sp and sampletrak
My nigga.. I love when you go deep. (pause)
How come you never do any more videos like the one you did on Mandela Effect?
Handel Hype different time, I help people with their dreams now..rather than worry about the nightmares...etc
so brilliance is volume ?
Bk Banga yep
sounds like the original maria sample, Tycho - Adrift
It would be dope if you left an FLP FILE
So if you were to go the hardware route what would those steps be?
In terms of what? Composing? Vintage Gear and Real Musicians who play the parts (Guitars, Bass, Keys)
Wow
What happen?
Just amazed at the possibilities.
Oh! 🙏💯
Wait so what sp404 preset is Frank Dukes using?
He doesnt use a sp404
Do you know what sampler he's using?
At the moment, he represents a collective of musicians who make the samples
we think on the same levels lol... i have my own chain for retro
P Roh yeah bro 🙏 I left out two steps due to CPU issues.l.but my main issue is sound selection, I need to find some stellar REs...and use the midi in Reason instead
yooo check this out www.speffex.sitew.fr/#VST_Emulation_of_SP_12_1200_E_mu_.A you have to jbridge it for 64bit. ran across it the other day.
What do u prefer about the midi in reason? I use reason but FL seems easier with the midi
whats the sp404 lofi?
Why dont you use kontakt
+Justin Harvey cost too much for nothing
Haha to you it might sound exotic, to me it sounds exactly like ‘Garden of peace - Lonnie-Liston Smith’. Its one of the most sampled tracks is Hiphop ever. No disrespect ofcourse, i just thougt you might want to check it out :p.
Makes sense. I learned how to play it many moons ago
Ever use RC20 by xln?
also. this video is legendary!
Thanks. Yeah peeps mention it a lot.,.i hear it's good as money. I'm just team goodhertz atm...was the first I bought. And later got the hardware stuff, so don't even need more....cup is full
MG The Future yeah I feel you. Too many tools can be counterproductive at times.
Man.. so hard to find like minded individuals.
Video begins at 8:00
Thanks, i was wondering
