seriously, this is a work of Art. Call me crazy but i think Team Cherry is Clover Studios reborn (you know, Clover Studios are the guys who made Okami)
Do yourself a favor and play this game if you haven't. It's a progressively tougher game that is still accessible to new players, but for its price... it is easily the best that you will get for your money for its massive amounts of content and adventure. But hands down the highlight of this game is its beautiful moments. Hallownest is a place of sorrow and sadness, but the beautiful moments like these... and the moments that the friendly residents of Hallownest, that know they will perish very soon, they just take it with everything and simply enjoy themselves. This game is art. It really is.
recently got the game 2 days ago with barely any knowledge on it. when i reached city of tears i found the music to be so beautiful. so glad i chose to pick it up
It’s incredible to me that this looks like it was just a short animated image made for this song, but no, that’s just what every area of the game looks like. Each frame a painting of extremely high quality. So much life to it, and the music fits it absolutely perfectly.
The city of tears has to be one of my favorite areas in video game history. There is a reason I am building a Minecraft mega base that is city of tears themed.
I remember this When i reached this part i was so filled with... Feelings... So... Beautiful... I sit in the bench for like a minute or so... I... Loved this part... So beautiful... I hope that 1000 yrs in the future, if humanity still exists, people remember this game
"The city looks to be built into an enormous cavern, and the rain pours down from cracks in the stone above. There must be a lot of water up there somewhere. I suppose, if the cave roof stayed strong this long, it should hold for us. The rain seems to come down endlessly, though. I'd like to see where it all comes from before I leave this Kingdom. What a sight it must be!"
1:15-1:38 feels so magical and nostalgic; like a small peak of the past with joyful tunes when everything was ok, lingering into the present with some gloomy tunes
Man dude... I remember playing this at the dead of night, on my cruddy laptop three years ago. This part of the map was so... unknown. Decrepit, almost. The descent down that first tower and stepping out into the rain is something I won't forget for a very long time.
I remember my first time playing Hollow Knihht. I loved every moment of it and it was due to 2 things, the atmosphere/music and the fact that a friend had spoken so vocally about it and his absolute praise was correct. I still think of you Mr Thick, rest in peace
This is one of the greats. Its the same as Dark Souls in strength of story. Its combat is amazing, and its soundtrack brings it alive, every area is blessed by these myriad tones. This reminds me of Hyper Light Drifter too, which follows a similar plot line.
@@ekul3374 i think that when playing games, people are looking for different stuff. Some just want to relax (Journey, Abzu), some look for a challenge (Dark Souls) and others want to have fun with their friends (Multiplayer focused games).
@@d3lta950 The thing is, unlike fortnite, Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, Journey and Abzu are works of art. Fortnite, most of EA's games, candy crush -- these aren't made to show beautiful worlds, characters, etc.; they are supposed to make profit, their directors' main task is to make the game as profitable as it is possible, without caring for the game's quality. God of War, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ori, Hollow Knight, Unravel -- the directors of these games had in mind not money, but creating a GAME. Look at the RDR2: they made the gameplay much more toned down and slow than most of today games, because that was what the director wanted. Now look at FIFA or Battlefield V. I probably don't need to explain.
Atijohn a hat in time is definitely up there as well. the fact that the developer wanted to revive 3D collect-a-thons and did it so perfectly with amazing characters, pretty open worlds, memorable moments and more made the game super good
Hell yes! I hate it because the official soundtrack ends at this moment, and this part after it's my favorite. Barr3T0ni I love all the pixels except the ones that make up the aspids and dirtcarvers. Besides that, it’s a mastapeece and a mastapeece for your wallet.
Imagine if a really passionate team of developers worked with Team Cherry to make a VR version of Hollow Knight that was 3D instead of 2D. The combat would definitely need to be completely revamped for it, but the idea sounds breathtaking.
hollow knight is the game where I most stopped and looked at the scenery and the enemy design. It's just the most beautiful game ever. I also looked at the npcs and bosses because the world is set out so it really feels like the kingdom fell and you're the last hope. also there was quite alot of emotion. like quirrle he haelped you. now he must pass on. and myla. the friendly face them you have to kill her. and hornet. in order to save hallownest so many must die. Hello. I want to make this my animated desktop background, and if you could create a video or redirect me to one like this but without the HUD, I would greatly appreciate it.
There is an app on Steam called "Wallpaper Engine", I highly recommend you buy that, it's rather cheap for a few bucks. I think it would be quite easy to make this a wallpaper like you want, just add rain effects and the music layered over the image and bam. You'd be able to share it with others too.
I have, like 25k Geos, i gave it to the fountain 'till a piece came out of it, i've got all of the unbreakable charms, i have all of the charms in the game, i bought everything from Sly... I got my money back from the scam bank... ...I have nothing to do with my Geo (edit1) woopity woopy, i have 30k+ geos now!
It isn't, but I can see why you might think that. Look at the occasional single drip of water falling or the lanterns with the lumaflies and you'll see it's not sped up. You can also use this other video for reference, have a look at the lumaflies here too: ruclips.net/video/5jBrLedSJ-M/видео.html
The fact that indoor rain falls more gently and the vocals doesn't resonate.... this game is pure art
Dynamic soundtrack ftw
Sarr Cat wow!!!
The attention to detail Team Cherry put into Hollow Knight is amazing.

I sat on that bench with the other bug for a good long while when I first got here. Such a lovely area.
DiddlyDiPotatoes Quirrel
Same. The moment was too good to just pass it up. I just sat there with the guy and stayed for so long - Hollow Knight fallen asleep. Very peaceful...
yup, after so much try hard, come to this area or some hot tub, you feel very hard to leave

Where is lamp For real. I love the entirety of this OST, but that part has to be my favourite.
The notes almost sound like they're being played backwards.
Thought I was the only one
The alternation between moderato and piano (quiet) makes it sound like the melody's being interrupted by itself
